NBA Live 10 News Post

Basketball is just around the corner and EA timed it up perfectly, by sending us an early copy of the NBA Live 10 demo on the Xbox 360, which features the Orlando Magic @ the L.A. Lakers, played in an "NBA Finals atmosphere". You can only play the first half, in the demo, which is two, 4 minute quarters. Unfortunately, I'm not allowed to take screenshots or video from the game. Hoping to have beta code by mid-September, so keep your eyes open.

FYI... Steve, there are no loose balls Mike already said they weren't able to bring them in with the tons of stuff they had to fix... maybe for Live 11

Yep they sure do...thats one reason why all teams know what the other teams plays are and the games come down to execution on a given night

I don't care if it's 392 total or 392 for each team or 392 including variations... as long as each team has plays that take advantage of their personnel, I'll be happy. I hope the days of seeing guys like Dirk and Okur just standing on the block trying to post up are over.

Yeah I feel you on that stumble as long as teams are running plays that will take advantage of their strengths I will be happy.

I do know that the triangle is very complex and flexible with many options to adjust to the defense and certain matchups...
I'm seeing the number of plays in the high 400s. Some are shared, but many are team specific (actually have the team name in the play). All are 100% authentic plays. We put a lot of work into this.

That's the bizness right there base.... Dam.

I predict this demo will be played as much or more than the nba 2k8 demo that was promptly labeled "Digital Crack" !

Very good write up Steve.

Can't wait for this demo to drop.

I never use plays in 2K just because some are useless and they take forever to setup. But if I happen to buy live this year, I definitely will be using them.

Although I do wonder if we will get solid off ball movement without calling an offensive set or play.

Just like some of you have mentioned, not really feeling the fact that players "hustle" when they aren't really necessary. But, out of thirty games, it doesn't seem like it will be that big of a problem. Maybe it was due to the game being set on "NBA Finals" so maybe he saw a few more of them than would happen in a game of less importance. Too bad they don't have a slider to adjust "hustle plays" to one's liking.

Sounds really good. Had enough of generic plays that appear in other games, so I like authentic team sets. Must have for me.

I also hope that there is off-ball movement if you do not want to call a play at the moment.

Sounds good so far. Put me in the same boat of people who's skeptical about the 300+ plays for EACH team. Hell to be honest, unless one of us magically gets a coaching gig in the NBA, most of us aren't going to run each and every play for each team lol. I know the most i'll probably run about 15-25 plays max.

iminurbase just confirmed in another thread that there are plays "in the high 400's" and though some are shared, the majority are team-specific and have the team's name in the play so you can tell. No need for skepticism any more... they're doing it big this year.
