Dude, you don't have to defend every somewhat critical post.

All he said was it was too slow for him. People ARE allowed to have preferences, maybe he just doesn't like it that slow.

Others informed him about the speed slider, problem solved.

Just because he doesn't like the speed doesn't mean he has an agenda.

Loving the DEMO a lot. This is a great step up from previous Maddens. Yes from the DEMO there are areas that could use some work but from the DEMO alone I'd buy the retail in a heartbeat. Big time improvement for a GAME in one year.
Can't wait to play it and have some ...wait for it... FUN...in this GAME.

I don't care if it's in Kids mode, this shouldn't even happen.. This looks & plays too much like madden 09 imo. Horrible AI, RC, Stiff running animations, Oline is overpowering, Serious oline Suction, the QB has has all day to throw??! So the DEV's try to make the oline/dline look pretty by having them create a pocket, but forget about having the Dline disengage blocks?? All these things are serious issues, and they still exist. Wow.. Makes you wonder about the madden dev's..
I don't know if it is fair to say that RC is totally in the game based on a Larry Fitzgerald-like catch made by Larry Fitzgerald. He makes catches like that in real life. Now, if it was someone like Orlando Pace rocket catching in Madden 10 I'd be worried.

What the hell do you expect EA's developers to do about that?

This is the unfortunate by-product of video games. Stuff like this is impossible to prevent on a video game. No matter what EA does, people will always be able to do this if they practice at it.

Okay, I just got a chance to actually play the demo, and WHOA. Talk about different. The view, the speed, the graphics. I felt like I was re-learning the game. It took me a bit to get my bearings.

That being said, I'm pretty happy with the game. Sure, some glitches I saw, but I also know that this is an old build. But I loved the passing, I loved the running, everything felt very good. It's going to take me some time to re-adjust to the look and feel of everything, but I'm as pleased as pie.

I don't get how anyone can say this looks or feels like '09. There's just no way.

5 minute demo = Super Bowl. No tie games.
1 minute demo = regular season Tie games allowed.

Donovan McNabb? Why do you have a Cowboys avatar?

Just saw this animation defender goes up and tips the pass, then in mid-air turns and delivers a vicious hit on the receiver. You would think they would have gotten rid of that animation, with the commitment to sim and all.

Please tell me there will be broadcast type replays in the game, and hopefully in the online game too (which was left out on Madden 09). I'd like the system FIFA does in the replays online, the box on the top that shows if either player has tried to skip the replay but will show it unless both chose to skip. Same thing for the halftime shows...

Is Chris Collingsworth "Back Track" Replay breakdown of replays still going to be in the final release or at least a new version of it? I thought that was actually cool, and basically the only presentation 09 tried to make?

Anyone know the answer to these two questions.

overall impressions is real simple for me.

madden 10 is better than madden 09 but isnt better than ALL PRO 2k8 when its comes to gameplay which IMO is the best simulation to date. however i will say madden 10 is the step in the right direction and my words to IAN is dont screw it up cause.

next year has to focus on gameplay, and physics. its need to simulate the NFL

Enjoying both demo's so far...the Super Bowl replay speed is something everyone will have to get used to for sure. It's nice to see lanes open up for the running backs, and see them collapse on occasion as they should. Some passes seem to float a bit, but then again I haven't tried really pressing down on the buttons to force a strong-arm pass.

Whoever arranged or made the music for the menus and replays must be a fan of Hans Zimmer (Pirates of the Carribean specifically)

I just dont understand this::

MANY issues have been corrected, ESPECIALLY in the gameplay dept. of madden this year. I know for a fact, the Devs knew about the RC problem coming into this year, because they apparently recognized something was wrong with the FB Dive, and just the overall nature of the WR/DB interaction....

It seems to me that the Devs HAVE done a GREAT job on the game, but dag -- Annooottthhheeerrr year of RC'ing? **Ughh**...

I guess it just makes me frustrated because the overall makeup of the game is legitimately GREAT and a total step up from last year. But the one mode that has plagued the Online community for years is back for another year!

Oh well, I've rambled long enough..theres always next year...

**((But dont get me wrong, I appreciate all the effort that has been put in the game this year and see the AMAZING strides...and I'm still purchasing the game, and I realize not everyones wishes will be come true during the production of the game...))

So I'll take the RCing with a grain of salt, try to prepare as much as possible for it (because I mainly play online), and just hope next year something gets done about it...

GREAT POST. I agree completely. Now in it s defense I had only played the Gamestop demo. I just tried the Giants/Cowboys 1 mimute demo. There HAS to be a difference in the build they used. The Giants/Cowboys demo seems to have better gameplay and less blocking errors, etc.

I asked Ian if there was a difference in build but it has not been clarified yet. I truly think there is. Let me know if anyone else has noticed this.

My quick impressions after 1 game with the 5 minute Qtr demo.

I'll never win a fumble fight, I'm behind before I even realize what happened.

Otherwise, I think the game plays very well.. (I played on Pro)

I played as the Cards, I had 200 total yards vs 150 for the Steelers. They won on a field goal as time expired. I do like how they ran the clock down to 2 seconds before calling timeout.

I really hope the graphics were reduced to limit the file size because if this game ends up looking crisp like previous years, I think we might have a winner.

Does anyone know if the controls changed at all or if there are new controls for the ball carrier?

And one thing I dont understand about the RC is that Ian says that you cannot straft in All-Pro and All-Madden, but the dude that posted his video claims its on All-Pro...

Hmm..

I would try and explain it but it's been explained many times so just take a look around you'll find the answer. Coach/Owner mode.....

I think you're jumping the gun on RC'ing.

When people can do it on All-Pro (online's default setting) and can show it to me reliably, we'll jump on addressing it. That hasn't been shown. We addressed this at the root - with better locomotion and momentum. It is much harder to stop on a dime now, especially on All-Pro/All-Madden.

You don't think the graphics look crisp? Are you playing on a HD TV... they look sharp to me. Some of the same quirky EA animations (but improved from 09) but graphically this game is A+
