Really like the gameplay, I've had some awesome moments in the demo including a last second touchdown that was close enough for the ref huddle cutscene to activate.
I really like the momentum/locomotion improvements, its a really good start on that. Like the over the shoulder catch animation, and sideline catch works much better.
One more thing its really nice that you can throw an effective fade route now.
Pass Rush could be better IMO, not sure if this has the fix. Some of the cutscenes cut off to soon. also depth of field doesn't seem to be too prevalent.
Looking forward to the retail version. best madden on next gen easily atm, could be best madden ever.

I must say that the first game I played of the exclusive demo was fantastic but after that it's been downhill.
Time after time i will hit my receiver on a short pass and he will just completely drop it. Not once every ten passes but consecutively.
I had a PA Roll-out with Fitz doing the streak. The CB pressed him and as soon as he got passed him i lobbed it into the very end of the endzone for an easy TD but wait, the CB is still in front of Fitz somehow and swats it out of the air. Now the CB should not be ahead of the WR after he presses him, it's just not gonna happen.
Man Defense is impossible.
Both on offense and defense.
When you're on defense, your guy easily gets beat 95% of the time your defender is always 5 steps beat.
When on offense if the defense calls a man coverage play hardly any of your guys are open, and when they are you'll pass to them only to be hit as you throw because your o-line is terrible.
It seems that you could call a pass play with 5 receivers and the defense will blitz 8 guys and none of your WR will be open.
Proceederal(sp?) Awareness is a joke.
I had Steve Breaston do an out ok? Well he gets to the point before he turns with the defender not even looking at him yet he still jumps on the turn and is in front of Breaston in no time.
Also, user pass rush is almost non-existent as I can do Engage Eight when they have 6 blockers and no one gets to the quarterback.
Sorry if this is hard to read.
And I know that many of you have enjoyed this demo so I don't know if it's me and that I suck.

Can anyone tell me some of the formations the Cowboys have to keep Ware on the field, is he at DE in passing defenses?

So hopefully when/if this issue is corrected, the Dev team can finally put this on the back burner and focus on primarily IMPROVING the game, instead of fixing the previous Dev's PAST MISTAKES.

You people drive me nuts! I need this I need that......you act like 2k5 was unreal!!! 2k5 was butt when it came to gameplay. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Madden is for the old school gamer. People who have to have skills on the stick and understand offensive and defensive scemes. Not a game that does everthing for you, but a game that requires you to think to be good. Like a video game of football chess, you know. With Madden you have to have quick reaction to a hole in the lane to be able to run through it and recognize when a block is breaking down. Or even to understand how to break tackles or which side a d-linemen is being blocked from, so if he's being blocked outside you run inside if he's being pintched toward the middle you run outside and so-on and so-forth. YOU HAVE TO UNDERSTAND HOW TO RUN ON AN OUT SIDE PITCH! Seriously dude, you have to understand how to let your blocks develope and then turn it up field, not try to out run the D east and west or to the sideline hopeing to break a long run.....football is a north and south game. You can't hold on to the the turbo button in order to bust a long run! See as Madden fans or a gamer with great user skills we know that you dont hit turbo until you absolutely need to or once your out in the open field on a break away. Thats how Madden's run game works....Here is a quick break down for you scrubs or people who been hating on the game...You see, in order to manuver through the line of scrimage you have to have the ability to juke, spin, truck, stiff-arm or hesitate to break tackes. So when your running with a full head of steam or with turbo held down before you get through the line of scrimage or as soon as the ball is snapped your momentom will force a bad play. So it triggers the defenders to speed up and your o-line cant hold their blocks cause your not giving them enough time to set up their blocks or for them to even form a running lane cause you got your finger on the turbo button trying to break tackles or recognize running lanes. The game just doesnt work like that. Thats really why they slowed it down this year. You have to know how to recognize a blitz and then check down...you know i'm saying. Or how to put the right amount of touch on the ball. You have to have good user control. Period...Ya see, you dont need that in a cheeser game like 2k5. That game had great presentation and thats it! The gamplay was terrible and for apex to be so critical of ya'll erks the f*uck out of me. If I'm miss spelling words please forgive me cause I have a lot to say and Iittle time to type. So bare with me. 2k's gameplay can't touch either one of these demo's and I know it can't touch the real thing and I havent even played it yet. 2k played like a game you punched quarters into at chuckie cheese, you feel me. It required no skill and I hated the way the players moved and reacted to passes AND the way they ran for that matter! From what I can remember it was like their feet were stuck to the ground and they had a stick up their butt when they ran. Same thing with APF...terrible gameplay with that title as well. But this year we got the presentation we all been waiting for and then some.....This year we dominate! This year we OWN THE COMPITITION! People who been around this series since 93' know that Madden 10 is the best the series has ever looked and played...PERIOD! It's unfair to blaim Ian and his crew for past next gen devs who fell short in delivering anything even remotely close to what the new devs have done with this years iteration. I love it Ian, I f*ckin luv it! They have squeezed so much into one cycle its almost hard to believe. And all my friends luv it too! GREAT JOB IAN AND CREW....YOU REALLY OUT DID YOURSELVES THIS TIME....I LUV EVERYTHING ABOUT IT...AND IM TYPING IN BOLD CAUSE I WANT THESE HATERS TO KNOW THAT THEIR IN THE MINORITY THIS TIME AND WE..........US TRUE MADDEN FANS, WHO UNDERSTAND THE GAME OR IN SOME CASES PLAYED THE REAL SPORT ON MANY DIFFERENT LEVELS KNOW HOW MUCH EFFORT YOU ALL PUT INTO THIS GAME! I WANT YOU TO KNOW WE KNOW THE GAME IS NOW IN GREAT HANDS! I OWN A BARBER SHOP AND HAVE HAD IT RUNNING ALL DAY AND LET ME TELL YOU PEOPLE ARE GOING CRAZY ABOUT THIS F*CKING GAME! LET THESE LAME *** HATERS HATE AND BE CRITIC GEEKS ALL THEY WANT. WE PLAY FOR MONEY! WE RUN TOURNAMANTS, WE GO HARD AT THIS MADDEN SH*T OVER HERE IN CHICAGO! APEX AND THE REST OF THESE DUDES ACT LIKE WHAT YA'LL DO IS EASY AND THEY COULD DO MUCH BETTER....THEY DONT KNOW HOW MUCH EDUCATION IT TAKES TO LEARN VISUAL BASIC AND DEAL IN BINARY CODE.... AND HOW YOU DO THIS FOR A LIVING AND THAT YOU CANT FIT EVERYTHING WE WANT IN JUST ONE DEVELOPMENT CYCLE. BUT ME AND MY GUYS, WE KNOW AND WE UNDERSTAND....AND WE APRECIATE THE AMOUNT OF EFFORT YOU'VE PUT IN THIS YEAR AND THE AMOUNT OF COMMUNICATION YOU BEEN GIVING US AS WELL. NOW EVERYONES COMMUNICATING WITH THEIR AUDIANCE FROM FIFA TO NBA LIVE....SO KNOW THIS....ABOUT 15-20 DUDES ARE GOING TO INVEST IN YOUR GAME....CAUSE THAT WHAT IT IS A SMART INVESTMENT. THE RETURN IS SO SWEET HOW CAN WE NOT SPEND THAT 60$. LOL. LIKE THEY SAY IN VEGAS...."SCARED MONEY DON'T MAKE MONEY".....LOL. ONLY ON THE GAMBLING SIDE THAT IS! SO BIG UPS TO YOU IAN! YOU DID YOUR THING MY DUDE...KUDOS TO YOU, EA, AND YOUR WHOLE F*CKIN STAFF! WE GOT MADD LUV FOR YOU ALL HERE IN THE WINDY CITY! SO KEEP IT MOVING AND I KNOW THIS YEAR AND THE YEARS TO COME ARE GOING TO BE EPIC IN THE SPORTS VIDEO GAMING WORD! IM OUT! AND 2K FANS DON'T BE HATERS ALL YA LIFE! MAN UP AND LEARN HOW TO PLAY BEFORE YOU HATE! BUSTAS!

This is clearly the best MADDEN on Next Gen (I know that is not saying alot but the franchise is headed in the right direction). My impressions so far:
The Giants/Cowboys demo represents a better game of football than Steelers/Cards...not sure if there were different builds here or what.
The graphics and presentation are great.
The gameplay is much better than before but still needs some work in the blocking AI and weight/momentum physics to beat in APF 2k8 IMO. Hopefully the final build will address these issues.
Love the difference in snaps. Sometimes the ball is slapped perfectly, sometimes its a low snap or a high snap...that is a very nice touch.
QB throwing styles feel great. You can really feel the difference from one to the other.
Running game is better but the blocking still needs work in order for me to love it.
The speed of the game is better although I like that the final build will let you set the speed to your preference. I might bump it up one to see the difference.
Overall a lot was improved on in one year (Congratulations Ian and crew). It still needs some work though to get me to stop playing APF but they are headed in the right direction. I am looking forward to seeing what was done in those final 3 weeks of fine tuning to see if I change my mind on some of the issues that are apparent in the demo.

after playing a few more times, it is getting better and better. My main complaint right now is that the deep lob animation is pretty ugly. It doesnt seem natural. Almost like the ball just appears out of nowhere coming out of the hand and takes an ugly trajectory.
Another thing, Has anybody been stood up on a gang tackle and get pushed back and then the ref just calls the play dead because you dont go down and the forward momentum has stopped? It happened to me but on the final play of the game so I am not really sure if this is indeed in the game or just somehow the demo was "confused" and glitched in my particular case because it was the last play of the game?

This same stuff happens in NCAA10 also and is especially annoying when the RBs do it in flats. How hard is it to have a normal catch in the flats? Last years we had the spin catches and now another stupid catch animation that never happens IRL. *sighs*

Played both demos...
The GS demo
5 minute quarters with the clock accelerated, I noticed the game played alot slower then the cowboys/giants demo and the graphics, animation and alot of features were not as polished, the normal game speed on the newer 1 minute demo is perfect.
EA has taken good points from 2k and implemented then in madden which is a good thing; the presentation and tackles, animations remind me alot of the 2k series.
The difference is the football moved slower in 2k where you could break on the football and bat it down etc. its hard to do that in madden because the football is moving like super fast but is more realistic, I wonder if the speed of the football varies from qb to qb? not every qb can throw the football @ 80 mph
I would rather tap on the a button for a few extra yards rather then pushing on the right stick or at least use both to counter, you can break tackles a little too easy using the right stick if you time it right, need more defensive counters, the offense seems over powering at times; easy to score on all madden etc. Thats the one thing i miss the most about the 2k series is the ablity to break on the ball carrier fast and furious with out missing...
I play as the safety mostly but as the DE if I know its going to be a passing down just because the ball just moves way to fast to break unless its a bomb.
also, i think the camera pans up to the player way to fast; i would rather it be delayed a few seconds before showing the closeups, i like to see my guy finish him from the default camera angle if you get my point.

The Senior Fanboy has spoken, let him speak for you:
We're all scrubs, we don't know how to play.
Madden represents foootball perfectly to the nth degree times infinity, if you only understood football, you would understand Madden.
All real life football strategies work in Madden as they do in real life.
And, let's not forget....2K sucks!!!
Let's hope you have spoken for thousands of your fellow travelers so we don't have to see this same post another thousand times.
And...2K sucks

I got the Demo tonight after work. I recorded me playing it, and a second game. I am uploading those two vids to youtube.
My impressions of the game? Momma said if you ain't got nothin' nice to say, then don't say nothin' at all.
I'm going to take her advice.
