NCAA FOOTBALL 10 DEMO AVAILABLE TODAY

Fans Awaiting the Release of NCAA Football 10
Create Over 80,000 Custom Teams via TeamBuilder

June 18, 2009 –Electronic Arts is proud to announce that the demo of NCAA Football 10 is available today for Xbox 360 and PS3. Fans who download the free demo will experience all-new gameplay features including:
  • Defensive Keys—Prior to the snap during the pre-play, hold the left trigger while pressing the analog stick in the direction you think will stop the run. If you think the offense will pass the ball, press upward. Or, you can press the icon associated with a receiver (X, Y, A, B, LB, RB) to spotlight that individual. This will focus the defense on making sure that the chosen offensive player does not make a play.
  • Defensive Player Assist—By holding A (on 360) or X (on PS3) on defense your player will be put under CPU control so you have time to read a play and decide the best course of action.
  • Enhanced Defensive Lineman Moves—With new animations, take control of your defensive linemen using the right stick to fight pass blocks and put pressure on the quarterback.
  • Gameplanning—There are six defensive and five offensive individual game planning options, or you can globally set your offense and defense. Each option changes the way your team will perform. For example, be aggressive and try and strip the ball every time and you run the risk of getting more facemask penalties.
  • Player Lock—Player lock allows you to lock on to a specific player in order to control that position during the play. When you lock on you'll get a whole new camera angle that puts you closer to the action.
  • Set Up Plays—Set up plays allows you to run one play in order to set up another. When picking a play, you will notice that some plays have a chain link between them, which indicates that one play can set up the other. Every time you use one particular play throughout the game, you are setting up for the play that is chain linked to it. Once the play is 100% set up (as shown in your playbook), the defense is at its highest likelihood to fall for that play action.
  • 1000 new animations like throw out of a sack, new shotgun snaps/hand-offs, WR/DB interactions, tackles, double team run blocks, catches, broken tackles, and slipping in bad weather.

I finally figured out the pass rush moves, now I can get pressure on the qb and sometimes get a user sack I think I will be this game, when I set my zone to cover short routes more... the depth of the zone changed based on what I wanted them to do. So RC won't be a problem for me and neither will drag routes. I like the game only thing I don't like for real is the camera when it's a deep pass.

Had a tipped ball get picked, When I tried the Curl RC I caught it the first time then after that I would get hit in the air only to have the ball picked.

I think we are getting a little carried away with all the "RC" stuff. I agree some of the stuff from the demo video with the CHEESY "RC'S" were bogus, but lets not go labeling EVERY user catch a "RC

back again, i think im starting to get the hang of this game. I can run the ball quite well, i had 200+ rushing yards with tebow alone in the last game including 85 yd td run, and yes its on heisman. The key is when to use the speed burst.I wonder what tebows speed is b/c he is finally a beast in the game. Never hit the spd burst as soon as u get the ball, wait until the blockers line up and then hit it fast. U can u the same principles on the kickoffs/punt returns just returned my first 2 in one game. Still have problems with getting a pass rush and playing pass defense. Still way too many turnovers, i have lost plenty of games without the cpu scoring an offensive td. How come the cpu can get so much pressure with only 3-4 guys, while i will blitz 5-6 and get no where near the qb. Another thing is when a player is beat by a step they almost always catch the ball.

If Tebow can bust an 85 yard run, there's something wrong.

It's been asked before, but I didnt see it answered. Whats with my HB a his little stutter step everytime he takes the handoff? I want him on an ISO or DIVE play to just take the handoff and rumble towards the line, not start dancing. Any idea why he does this?

Happy, what I have done is shoot to the outside with the DE, and force the OT to come with me. Then quickly, shoot back to the inside. I had 4 sacks in one game on All American, just using this method. I had luck also on HM level, but the best I have done is 2 user sacks in one game.

Yep, sadly for more results all you have to do is move the line to the outside you are lining up at then have the line crash the same direction and you can do a straight line to the QB almost every play.

I don't really come on the ncaa forum much but the run game on the demo is pretty impressive. I know they haven't done a whole lot to improve the game so i'm probably just gonna get fight night round 4 instead, but the run game is so much better than before. Before it seemed as if there was no point in running the ball on heisman cause the defense was just the 85 bears reincarnated. Now you can actually follow the holes and pickup a nice 4 yard gain if you just follow the play. I really hope madden's run game is similar cause that'd be sweet.

That's a big beef I have with this game and the same problem exists in 09 (and most EA games the last few years). The inside move is FAR more effective than an outside rush. They still haven't done the outside rush properly where the DE gets upfield without getting slowed down. The great speed rushers will just run around OTs and get the QB at times. The OT will still get a piece of them but it won't slow them down much. EA has always struggled with that due to suction blocking (the DE never fully engages the OT). That aspect of the DE pass rush really needs to be worked on. Maybe guys have figured out how to do it well in the demo but it's something that I've largely given up on.

I'm a tourny player I can tell the difference between a rocket catch and a regular user.

I get some nice Moves against OT, a couple times I went right past the guy with a rip. It works really good one run plays it's nice how you can break off a block and make the tackle without switching guys. DT is a little harder I seem to get pushed down a lot, but I can get pressure.

Even though 09 had some issues, I still had a great time playing it. I still am playing it for that matter. Based on that, do you guys think that I would like 10 or should I skip it and just keep going with 09? Of course I do realize that you can only base your opinions on the demo.

One thing that I would like to say about 10. I think sometimes expectations can be just too high. Without telling my age I made my start on the commodore 64 and I will have to say boy have games changed. Having played on that system, I appreciate the games today. We could still be in an age where the players in Madden still looked like blocks from space invaders. I know technology is far more advanced and capabilities are far greater. I agree that there are too many bugs that slip through the cracks, but most of those do seem to get fixed in the patches. I also agree that 60.00 is alot to ask for a game with issues out of the box, some major at that.....

Sorry, didn't mean to be long winded...
