NCAA FOOTBALL 10 DEMO AVAILABLE TODAY

Fans Awaiting the Release of NCAA Football 10
Create Over 80,000 Custom Teams via TeamBuilder

June 18, 2009 –Electronic Arts is proud to announce that the demo of NCAA Football 10 is available today for Xbox 360 and PS3. Fans who download the free demo will experience all-new gameplay features including:
  • Defensive Keys—Prior to the snap during the pre-play, hold the left trigger while pressing the analog stick in the direction you think will stop the run. If you think the offense will pass the ball, press upward. Or, you can press the icon associated with a receiver (X, Y, A, B, LB, RB) to spotlight that individual. This will focus the defense on making sure that the chosen offensive player does not make a play.
  • Defensive Player Assist—By holding A (on 360) or X (on PS3) on defense your player will be put under CPU control so you have time to read a play and decide the best course of action.
  • Enhanced Defensive Lineman Moves—With new animations, take control of your defensive linemen using the right stick to fight pass blocks and put pressure on the quarterback.
  • Gameplanning—There are six defensive and five offensive individual game planning options, or you can globally set your offense and defense. Each option changes the way your team will perform. For example, be aggressive and try and strip the ball every time and you run the risk of getting more facemask penalties.
  • Player Lock—Player lock allows you to lock on to a specific player in order to control that position during the play. When you lock on you'll get a whole new camera angle that puts you closer to the action.
  • Set Up Plays—Set up plays allows you to run one play in order to set up another. When picking a play, you will notice that some plays have a chain link between them, which indicates that one play can set up the other. Every time you use one particular play throughout the game, you are setting up for the play that is chain linked to it. Once the play is 100% set up (as shown in your playbook), the defense is at its highest likelihood to fall for that play action.
  • 1000 new animations like throw out of a sack, new shotgun snaps/hand-offs, WR/DB interactions, tackles, double team run blocks, catches, broken tackles, and slipping in bad weather.

2 times the center snapped the ball over my qb's head and it fell about 10 yards behind my qb and the play was blown dead as incomplete when it should be a fumble

happened twice on the drive

the other glitch is the cpu calling back to back time outs to freeze my kicker...not sure abou this but i thought you could not call back to back time outs without a play happening...

by the way...the game looks horribe on ps3...dont look perfect on 360 either but it is worst on ps3

maybe our fears weren't valid guys. I've played 2 games, won 21-14 with OU,had 3 sacks of Tebow and got decent pressure with my front 4. I won 24-0 with UF,and boy did I make Sam Bradford miserable! 4 sacks! Playing the demo has re-spiked my interest so far.

Argh! I can't download it because I only have Xbox Live Silver!

Oh well, it said that it will be available in a few days. It's kind of disappointing, but I can wait.

I haven't renewed my Gold subscription since January because I hardly ever use online and it's not worth getting Gold if I'm only going to use it rarely. I thought I had one of those free 30-day Gold trial cards laying around, but I can't seem to find it.

Man, I'm so glad my little cousins broke my flat screen, the other one is way too big to carry upstairs and don't have a wireless router anymore.

But at least I have these forums and YouTube to gauge how the demo is.

I agree man. I just downloaded it for the PS3, and I couldn't make it to the 2nd half. I just deleted it. Oh well. At least Madden will be decent this year. But, I won't be buying this now that's for sure. To me it feels just like 09 except worse.

no 0 turnovers in that game. effective pass rush, not really. i got about 2-3 user sacks with LE #8(he is a beast!). the problems seems to be the QB panics and gets rid of the ball too quickly before you get there. there have been many plays where i hit the QB right when he throws, some fell incomplete, some were caught. in about 8-9 games I have throw 4 Ints, the CPU has thrown 4 Ints. I have fumbled(and lost) 2 time, the CPU once.

but remember, I'm using the DE pretty much exclusively. user controlling the DE I can get some pressure, but it still needs some work.

I got a random error downloading or PS3 the first time too...mine also went from like 38 minutes to somewhere in the 2000's. Took a little over an hour total. Played one game, better than I expected because I had such low standards after the video. I'll make a more informed opinion now that I am getting the rust off.

I just saw the same thing that ~Guru~ saw with the ball being snapped over the head of the QB and ruled an incomplete pass. Hopefully this is just a demo hiccup and nothing more.

After a play the camera gave me the wide rotating view around the stadium, until I hit start and that got the play calling screen back up. This happened in NCAA 09 to me as well.

Thank for the impressions guys. It's early, but I like the seeing that it's polished and has a better "feel". I cannot wait for tonight when it hits the PS Store!

Go Gata!

Oh, and could you tell me the ratings for all of the players in the demo. Especially the #4s on the depth chart. I just had to.

3 smilies FTW.
You can't see the rosters when you pause or anything...

I actually liked the crowd sounds. "canned" I can say isn't totally inaccurate for you to say, but I still thought it was more realistic than just having a slightly increasing or decreasing hum the entire game...

I had absolutely no problem running the ball on Heisman mode. I did change up what I was doing a lot though. I didn't run ever play.

Demo looks fine to me on the PS3, but I haven't seen the 360 version so I can't compare the two.

man i am pissed that the ps3 version looks horrible....i hope is a demo thing..i hate the look of it...looked better last year in the 09 demo for ps3
yea it should be just a demo thing because if EA some how messed this up this year after last years game looking pretty close to the same on both systems i will be pissed off, there is no reason for both games not to look the same

# 373 Happyvally74 @ 06/18/09 08:19 PM
Who are they kidding with this zig zag running by the cpu?

On a positive note: I like how i can fire the ball to my recievers on the run. Its like a bullet.

# 374 countryboy @ 06/18/09 08:19 PM
glad I don't have a 360.

# 375 ndboy17 @ 06/18/09 08:21 PM
They probably didn't include anti-aliasing or whatever which is what they've been doing in the past which decreases file size. I don't know why this guru guy is complaining so much. If it looks like crap, don't buy, and stop complaining on here

it makes no sense us ps3 users have to "accept"graphics that are not on par with the 360.I guess that's why none of my post where never answered concerning 1080i for ps3.It probably doesn't matter because the 360 version probably looks better in 720p.On a good note i'm LOVING the demo it seems that they've polished the game it plays better across the board.I haven't seen the 360 version and i guess that's what the devs count on because u don't miss what u don't have meaning sharper graphics and smoother gameplay. It's crazy because u 360 owners whine WAY more than us ps3 owners.U 360 guys are just too spoiled.lol.

# 377 xxslim502xx @ 06/18/09 08:25 PM
the ps3 demo is trash, it has MAJOR slowdown and the ball flied over the QBs head and is ruled a dead ball..that better be fixed in final, also can anybody confirm if you can turn the action cam off in retail? because the camera moves with the player too much its hard to tackle and react cuz the camera moves too much it messes you up..

# 378 tyler289 @ 06/18/09 08:30 PM
I'm enjoying the demo. The game is challenging without feeling like I'm being cheated.

Still needs a lot of work, but I can definitely see myself enjoying the game for a long time. We'll seehow I feel after lots of hours, though...

OK daaawg...WE GET IT...Jeezus

One thing to keep in mind while playing this demo for people saying there isn't enough complete passes: Tebow and Bradford will both be 99 OVR. I'm just guessing here, but I'd say that if you were using an 84 OVR QB, a 12/16 passing day will turn into a 9/16 passing day.
