We are pretty much "friends" and understand sometime stuff happens and games can't be played by the deadline.
Skyboxer you are conveying the same opportunity I envision in your posts. This will be so much fun!

And I agree that if you lose in franchise mode, that's okay because it's indeed a franchise mode. My point is that it would seem that you might only get through..2 seasons, maybe 3. That doesn't seem all that long to rebuild a team.
I've been in 24 team leagues. I am actually in the process of a growing 32 team online franchise in M10. NFLHITMAN ran dozens of leagues in APF which were wonderful. He is putting one together for M10 and it is going to be everything an online SIM player could want. We'll eventually adopt sim rules if necessary. We vote on everything, so everyone has a say.

Remember Operation Sports is a GREAT place to network for leagues like this. For the most part the individuals that surf this site actually like the sports of the games they are playing and want to represent them properly. You are right about it being difficult to put something good together with a bunch of completely random people. Have to put a little effort in and network!

Can we player lock in Madden and online franchise???

That's a pretty good idea. If you had to be out of town or just couldn't make your game vs. a human, then your "VIP" would be loaded and play for you. So your tendencies and playcalling and whatnot would represent your style of play, instead of the generic CPU style of play.

I like it. That shouldn't be hard to do for next year's game.

doubt that would be possible, but sliders should allow your OF to make the cpu more challenging

I don't want to play the CPU ever. I hate EA's CPU logic. I'd like to play a franchise with my bro who lives in a different city but basically always play against him every game on my schedule. I really hope this is possible. I think EA used to have this feature and called it "Remote Opponent" or something.

The thing that made 2k5 great for presentation was that the transitions were smooth and perfect. If EA doesn't get that right, it will feel artificial.

I am excited but I am not crowning them until I see it live...
I agree... The other thing that 2K had was the great sidelines & interaction that went with it. Even in All Pro the sidelines stuff was a real as it gets. Players would hold you up when you fell out of bounds, players on the sideline argued with players on the field etc.. This is shaping up to be the best Madden ever, but sadly I remember reading that the sidelines will still be generic for some reason. If you took eveything EA is doing & add the 2K sidelines it would be insane. The players on the sidelines in 2K actually matched their on the field counterparts.

I'm hoping to see some good stuff tomorrow!!!

You didn't exactly see new videos because most of them were from earlier builds of the game.

Forget about the sidelines! There's so much other stuff this game is doing presentation-wise that Madden has never had! I'm am so excited right now!

I've been in 2 multi year OD in NCAA. Also by "friends" I don't mean people from my own town. Basically i have a lot of "friends" here on OS. So yeah I mean ONLINE friends.

You'd sacrifice the visual quality of the players on the field if you were to do that.

Ian addressed this a while back in one of his posts.

I wonder if you they have something like realistic rosters in an online franchise setting...where EA updates the players constantly... I hate when team rosters arent really real. I would like a league where the rosters are how they are in real life.

Here's a question, maybe someone who's played Online Dynasty in NCAA 09 (specifically on the PS3) can answer this one:

My roommate and I like to do a two-player franchise locally... we are doing one in NCAA right now and plan on doing one in Madden. But Online Franchise would be even sweeter. I know we could both do the Online Franchise from the same console if we are playing the CPU or a human opponent online. What if we have to play each other, though? Can we play it HUM vs. HUM on our one console?

I know in NCAA 09's Online Dynasty you can do this. So I would assume you can do this in Madden 10's Online Franchise.

That is a fantastic idea.

Awesome, I figured that was the case but I never ended up doing an Online Dynasty so I wasn't sure. Thanks for confirming that.

It was called Live Opponent and it was an awesome feature I don't know why they removed it after madden '07?

VIP was the best feature in NFL 2k5 IMO. I could play against my brother's profile and learn more about how he would play in the game. Heck, it was fun to play against my profile to learn my strengths and weaknesses. I know it's probably a no go for Madden 10, but for 11 this would be a major upgrade.

Yeah that was it. It's a great feature that was also in High Heat many years ago. Hopefully Ian and crew will bring it back in Madden '10.
