I agree I hope there is a zoom camera angle. I don't care if it customizable or not, just closer.

I agree I like my camera a little closer ( tough on my old eyes ). But isnt this one of the reasons why players always roll out ? One, to avoid the rush and the non existent pocket and secondly, to be able to get a better view of your receiver along the sidelines..

Let me also piggyback on this. Moegames it's not simply the size. The bigger problem is the speed. The DE's engage way to early. They don't run an arc. It's more like the OT determines where they are going to be able to go. This might partly have to do with the plays that are called. But it might not.

I feel for Ian and his team at times. It is impossible to please everyone. So many complaints even though there are so many positives.. It is clear they are trying their best to make the best possible game and that they are taking our criticisms to heart.

As long as they improve the game and make it more of a sim rather than a quirky arcade game I will be more than happy...
i love 2k5 but ian is winning me over with these improvements--presentation, signature throwing animations, etc, etc..... i also agree that ian has a hard job. it's going to be hard to please everyone but i believe more than not will appreciate his desire to improve madden.

Regarding the photo of a real pocket as opposed to Maddens camera view.. Again, it is about being able to see the wide receivers, which you cant in the real photo... Unless they allow the gamer to move the camera as if it were attached to the QBs head I dont see how they will remedy this..

What other football game has a close up view of the pocket yet you can easily see the wide receivers ? Although I wish they could.

This is pretty much where I'm at too.

In my opinion, it would be a mistake to really judge M10 from this chopped up video. I have a feeling that video really didn't do the game much justice. In their effort to seemingly hide elements of the games presentation...it didn't do the game any favors.

As one of the Community day guys said....Madden '10' will seem "familiar", in the way it looks and plays. And not to expect it to be 2K10. I think that was a wise and reasonable "warning" if you will. I don't necessarily mean this in a negative way. But Madden does seem to still be Madden. And the 2K football games are, well...2K. I see improvements with M10, and I know a solid effort is being made with the game. Thats all I really expect.

On 08 for the PC the zoom camera backed up for past plays, but not to far back. For running plays it stayed zoomed in, which was really cool, the bigger bodies just add to the experience.

cmon man you know its not. the plays dont have u choosing the line stunt like in 2k. they look to engage the tackle, then start to loop around. now ill reserve judgment for more videos cause he did say pro tak was off. remember the vid 'blocking' on ign where they were interviewing ian? he was talkin about how they used pro tak for the pocket and it was gorgeous, all it needed was to be sped up, but it brought a tear to my eye.

but i aint holding my breath either, im not gonna get high on this game like i do every year.

There were a few shoelace tackles in the next vid. Now dont get me wrong 2K had good animations but I believe Madden 10 tops them as fr as the multi-man gang tackles. Now Backbreaker looks good and alll, but the guys diving and leaping all over the place doesnt look real. Similarly, the players seem to turn into Rag Dolls once they are hit. I am not trying to start a flame or comparison, I'm just Giving EA props. Not comparing to other games, so please dont start a flame war.

Actually what I meant here is that with Madden's Defensive plays, the line has a pre-set rush behavior, whether it is run or pass. The defensive plays selected in these vids may have the DE's rushing somewhat inward instead of outward and up the field.

ummm what you talkin bout captain? Madden's defensive plays have the Dline in a pre-set rush behavior patter vs run or pass. I'm saying depending on the plays selected for those vids, they may be plays that call for the DE's to shoot inward. There is nothing you can do as a user except audible to the fan call. This is all I mean. See the attachment here. If the person in the vid called a play where the DE's are not moving out and up, I'm saying that maybe the reason why they engage early in these vids.

I look forward to seeing more vids because this one wasn't good.

I think the thing that bothered me the most was that Westbrook and Maclin both lose all their momentum as soon as they are engaged in a tackle. Both should still be moving forward somewhat, and they just get stopped as if their feet are pinned to the ground, then the tackle plays out.

Also that one DB just comes flying in and totally wiffs on the QB sack, which makes him look like a fool. You would think a user was controlling him or something. ;-)

Im happy with the vid.. I think some of the critiques are justified but a bit nit picky.. Then again, if Madden is to be a true sim we have to look at everything.

I look forward to seeing a game vid when all the bugs are fixed and Pro Tak is functional...

This whole fourm has taken a huge downfall the past few months. It makes me angry that Ian, Donny, Young, Fraizer, Simon and the rest of the the team take time out of there days to read a good amount of everyones posts and no one except a few people seem to respect that. Just look at everything these guys have done for us regarding some of our posts. From what I have noticed Ian, Donny, Young etc are making some of these changes right after they read some posts.

Honestly I liked what I saw on the Eagles vs. Cowboys video. Some people don't want to listen, the video was edited and some aspects were 100% broken. The Gametrailers video really bleeping impressed me.
dude they get paid for what they do. and i dont mean coming on here either. they are the ones who should be appreciative for the sheep, i mean people on this forum and the other 5 million who buy their goddamn game every year regardless of how much it sucks. they have our loyalty, forcefully because we have no choice. but because there are some people that dont know how to channel their emotions and say things that hurt their feelings and question their 'hard work' into the game they go ahead and ditch us. and then the other side which will rather kill themselves first before they say anything bad about EA. god if people didnt voice their displeasure this game would go no where. i dont blame him for leaving though, im surprised he lasted this long

I just watched the video again, and I noticed that the presentation is very similar to NBC's Sunday Night Football. Anybody else?

I doubt that's it.

What I'm thinking that sent him over is the stupid "EA SUX" type of talk that went into full force last night.

I honestly don't see why people are saying this is a "Kiss ... forum" when this forum is known for great feedback.

There's a difference between giving critical feedback and just bashing.

Here's what I liked:
--there are some nice added cutscenes to enhance presentation
--there are some nice tackles in there
--the graphics look pretty good

Here's what I'm critical about:
--the pocket is way too large and the rushers don't move quickly enough or take proper approaches
--the shotgun formation has Romo is 7 yards deep, which probably makes the issue of the pass rush even more of an issue.
--the running still looks a bit stiff

It's difficult to tell how much of what we saw will be in the final, but with every bit of info released we have to go on the basis of what we see and not what we hope will be changed before August.

I agree with kehlis. Saying be a "Chompian" will get old quick. It's already annoying to me now.
