i love 2k5 but ian is winning me over with these improvements--presentation, signature throwing animations, etc, etc..... i also agree that ian has a hard job. it's going to be hard to please everyone but i believe more than not will appreciate his desire to improve madden.

The problem with the running animation is that there should be a running while in traffic animation and a running when breaking free animation. This would be the best thing instead of how it is now. This will fall on deaf ears like the rest of my suggestions though. I think Ian has me on ignore.

Regarding the photo of a real pocket as opposed to Maddens camera view.. Again, it is about being able to see the wide receivers, which you cant in the real photo... Unless they allow the gamer to move the camera as if it were attached to the QBs head I dont see how they will remedy this..

What other football game has a close up view of the pocket yet you can easily see the wide receivers ? Although I wish they could.

I forgot to mention that I disagree wholeheartedly with this thread. The running animation is improved but its still no good.

Add an "in traffic" running animation and add a "breaking free" sprinting animation and all of the running animation issues will be fixed until they can get a few real former or current football players to do those two same types of animations for 2011.

The problem imo is that the running backs have the same animation from start to finish and it looks stupid. On top of that the sprinting animation is just off.

Is it possible to hand draw it? Is that an option? Whoever the devs use to mo-cap the running just has terrible form. Then they try and tweak it to make his running form better but thats the wrong way of doing it. Mocap a guy that knows how to run and move with a football and tweak it from there.

Am I off? I'll probably never find out since they literally never respond to me. Oh well. Madden's running animation will suffer for it.

Of course. I made a thread about it and watched it get ignored by EA devs and most of the posters that make up this board on a daily basis. With all the **** that gets posted on these boards its probably back on page 100 now.

In my opinion, it would be a mistake to really judge M10 from this chopped up video. I have a feeling that video really didn't do the game much justice. In their effort to seemingly hide elements of the games presentation...it didn't do the game any favors.

As one of the Community day guys said....Madden '10' will seem "familiar", in the way it looks and plays. And not to expect it to be 2K10. I think that was a wise and reasonable "warning" if you will. I don't necessarily mean this in a negative way. But Madden does seem to still be Madden. And the 2K football games are, well...2K. I see improvements with M10, and I know a solid effort is being made with the game. Thats all I really expect.

On 08 for the PC the zoom camera backed up for past plays, but not to far back. For running plays it stayed zoomed in, which was really cool, the bigger bodies just add to the experience.

Is it just me, or does Madden 10 have the best tackling engine ever seen in a football game. I think it looks very realistic. The Maclin tackle was awesome. There were a few shoelace tackles in the next vid. Now dont get me wrong 2K had good animations but I believe Madden 10 tops them as fr as the multi-man gang tackles. Now Backbreaker looks good and alll, but the guys diving and leaping all over the place doesnt look real. Similarly, the players seem to turn into Rag Dolls once they are hit. I am not trying to start a flame or comparison, I'm just Giving EA props. Not comparing to other games, so please dont start a flame war.
