I agree, the animations/rendering engine is just flawed. Seems to be the same engine for all of their games as well.

The first trailer that was released had way better running animations. Also, when Ian posted a vid showing how they changed it, I could have sworn people told him not to keep it where players sway from side to side like they did. I don't see the trouble in replicating a running back in the NFL and using his running form, but changing it a little to make it look generic. I don't even see the trouble in using Legacy Gen's running animations since you guys obviously can't get it right. There has been so many positives that I have seen throughout the past 5 months I could have sworn this would be the best Madden ever. The IGN gameplay vid pretty much assured me that it was. Then I DVR the stupid GTtv show and see crappy as$ gameplay. Yea, I knew Online Team Play and Online Franchise would be in, but that is just one part of the game. You need great gameplay to have a good online experience. That is why I am tired of NCAA 09's online dynasty, because the gameplay is so unrealistic. Madden 10 needs to have smooth, realistic running animations and that alone will send it over the top...assuming the IGN gameplay video is the real gameplay and the GTtv gameplay wasn't.

I disagree. I think his honest approach he outlined in another thread of explaining what was in and what didn't make the cut is the best approach to take. Ian can put out a lot of the fires and assuage fans that while certain things didn't make it this year, they are definitely targeted for next year in Madden '11.

To me, the gttv footage looked much better. I thought that the ign footage looked to much like 09.

I've watched the video maybe 10 times or so, and yeah...it's irritating already. Especially with Hammond saying it.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I cannot keep playing a game where the ball sticks to receivers. Timing routes do not exist. It is not realistic. Sit down play 2k8, learn how to pass the ball and you will see what I mean. In 2k8, you throw the ball to a spot on the field. If the receiver gets there then it can be a great play, if it is timed wrong the ball falls on the ground. Madden desperately needs to incorporate timing routes.
