I couldn't really notice the new way they ran in the vid at first, but after I seen a vid of madden 09, it became very noticeable.

Jeremy Maclin looked like he was running in cement in the video.
SO UNNATURAL!!
The arms also swing way too much!
Man, it just pains me to see that Madden improved in alot of areas but the area that can really put them over the top , they're still struggling in it...

I can't... IMO, this thread has been far more civilized then the usual "EA Sucks, the Devs are lazy" posts. A large majority of the thread was positive towards the video. In addition, the flame posts seemed to be other posters flaming each other. Not called for I know, but far better then flaming the Devs.

As far as the video... I saw some good, some bad and some ugly just as expected.

Not sure if this has been posted yet but what is up with Romo's "Red 38, red 38" cadence? It's not even his voice! It was SPOT ON in 09 with his, "White 80, white 80, set!" cadence that was his voice. Why did this suddenly change? PLEASE for the love of GOD get this corrected!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They look a little better, but they still look a little robotic to me. For the life of me I don't know why they can't go back to the ps2 or pc versions to get the running perfect...boggles my mind.

The things that I'm excited about won't necessarily show up in videos (fatigue factors, slipping on fields, etc...).

I guess I'm mildly interested at this point and will probably pick it up.

cant wait!

What pisses me off and makes no sense is the fact that it WAS correct in 09. It makes zero sense to have something nearly perfected one year and then totally dicking it up the next. Here's hoping QA or whoever is responsible notices this in time for release among other things.

I couldn't agree more with a prior poster. It’s a video game. lol Ian and his crew have made more improvements to madden in one year than I’ve seen in madden in the last ten years. People, the game is not going to be a "real" game. lol I see people analyzing everything little thing imaginable-- logo not pointed in the right direction, commentary plugging an advertising, and on and on it goes. The most important thing to me is, am I seeing the same game in ‘07, ‘08 and ‘09 and the answer clearly to me is no. This is the 1st time I’ll be buying a madden game since the 06 version.

Looks decent, but I'm officially worried the pocket will not be right, nor will the general footwork, especially on defense. The game just doesn't move realistically yet. Players don't adhere to the laws of physics.

well said valdarez.

The game just has animation problems. They just need to be cleaned up. It's as if they are missing frames. Like when the qb gets under the center, or when the WR get into position. They kinda just snap into place. The animations really take away from the organic feel.

Still looks way better than 09 and I'm definitely getting it ASAP.

looks like theres a few issues with the ai. on the play where mcnabb gets sacked. the left db has a clean shot on mcnabb, and for some unknown reason he runs away from the qb and back into the line of scrimmage. also on the shotgun play with mcnabb. one of the olineman is blocking no one. not helping anyone with a block. hes just standing there blocking air. i hope these two things are adressed.

I thought "head-tracking" was in the game this year? Crayton was putting his hands up before he even turned his head around. The DE that wasn't user controlled on that play did a much better job at not going for a looping outside rush but that could have been a result of the OLB blitzing.

My question for the devs is,

Why release a gameplay vid that is 2 weeks old when improvements are said to have taken place in that time span?

It just creates more confusion IMO because people start chiming in with statements like:

"This will be fixed by the time the demo/game comes out"
"This has to be pro/all-madden/etc... level"

No one knows those answers for sure.

Presentation looked good though.

My guess is that this build had generic QB voices, and Romo will have his same cadence from 09 in the final version of Madden 10.

The db was user controlled.

There's a lot to like, but honestly Hammond's commentary brings the whole excitement of the game way way down for me. He sounds absolutely atrocious. That Dallas TD should have been exciting and a huge momentum shift, but all you get is a bland, unnatural call. I've heard him call real games and he sounds much better.

I'm sorry, but it's freakin' 2009 and we still have to endure boring commentary once again. It's been how many years since 2K's football debuted and it's still one of the best out there. Forget real life broadcasters. As others have stated, bring in no named actors and let them provide the commentary.

I'm excited about the gameplay enhancements, but really just upset nothing was done with the broadcast.

New commentary should be the absolute number one priority next year, bar freakin' none!

I can see what some of you guys are talking about in the video regarding the pocket. I think the rushers are taking weird angles to the QB, and the "suction" thihg is still happening. I think that is why the pocket looks a little off. Notice the LOLB in this series of pictures from the video:
