With that in mind, I still am VERY impressed with what I saw. People up set with the flow need to sit back, and relax, knowing that certain things were cut out of the video they showed us.

I LOVED LOVED LOVED Mcnabb and Romo's different QB styles.
I agree. There's no need to bash the game based on only a 2 minute video.

Loved the first play westbrook planted his foot and took off out of the back field. The physics are well respected when the tackle was made. Presentation is a plus loved the end with romo on the phone and the celebration. The celebration is simple and common a bunch of guys pulling, pushing and slapping each other around. Its in every actual football game.

I liked the fight for the fumble but, I will probably have to change it to the cpu logic for the fight for the fumble. Running is no doubt better than than 09 which is smoother and looks better.

This game is looking better with each vid. Yes there are problems I see and others have seen but, its a vid from 2 weeks ago and its still a work in progress so that eases my mind about some things.

Give Hammond a chance. I haven't heard enough out of him to judge weather he sucks or not. Though that was not a very good first impression of the commentating in this game.

So ready for e3 to get here.

I respect that, but I am also obviously less forgiving than you. I stopped cutting them slack after the 3rd year of the game being unplayable by anyone over 10 years old.

Man this thread is getting really interesting by the minute....lol....I see why Ian and Simon tend to shy away from these boards sometimes. I can only imagine how these forums are going to be like on the morning of Aug 14th. God help us all!!! lol

I just don't understand why people can't understand that this was an edited video of an Alpha build, and that a lot of things are not shown in that video ON PURPOSE. I agree with a lot of the constructive criticism, but the bashing? Come on guys, let's be civil.....Geez.

ONLINE CO-OP should be interesting IMO. That means they definitely gonna have online franchise or at least let you spectate other people's game online. That would be hot!!!!!

# 308 TreyIM2 @ 05/29/09 12:45 AM
This just in - Madden WILL have online co-op. That was the big announcement on GT TV's E3 pre-show, as said by Phil Frazier

Maybe, but add in what has been dealt to us in Madden 08, Madden 09, the joystiq interview and other sites interviews and its time to be more than a little concerned. A couple months is not really a lot of time to fix major problems fellas.

The thing is, I dont blame Ian exclusively for anything. He seems like a good guy, and that he is trying best with what he is given and with how little time he has. This has just been brewing in me for the past few years, and I just cant deal with it anymore.

I may kill myself if the final product isnt a great sim.

As Ian has said in the past, this feature can be turned off if you dont like it, but yeah i can understand where ur comin from even though i think it wont interfere with gameplay at all in a negative way !

Thank you my educated friend.

First, advertising on the coin toss. I hate that, it's not part of the game, and it's an immediate turn off for me when I fire up Madden. If a person pays for a product, they shouldn't have to suffer through blatant advertising. Use the advertising that fits the game, don't alter/ruin the gaming experience to get an extra ad up there. That's not 'in the game'. I still haven't bought a snickers bar going on 2 years later due the snickers advertising in Madden '08 on the PSP.

Don't have time to dissect the game play tonight, the presentation looks better, but the announcers seem the same as last year.

One big disappointment for me after seeing more game play is that it doesn't look like Route Based passing is in the game. That feature alone (from APF2K8) has ruined other football games for me. Without it, I don't think I will be able to enjoy the game. Passing is half the game, and I won't be able to enjoy the passing game without it.

Dallas defenders pretty much didn't care about the created turnover?

No worries.

I believe Ian confirmed this when pile up's were officially announced.

Wow, dude you need to find a hobby or seek help. There's more to life than football games, I promise.

Did you think before you typed that? Or must I really ask, what did you expect it to look like?

The decision not to add better locomotion just makes the game seem so stiff. But I have watched the vid a few times and can see the differences, they just aren't overwhelming. Maybe Hammond just sets kind of a generic/blah mood. I will say I like the run blocking on the handoff to Westbrook. The PA fake by McFlabb is bad. He's too upright. No hard fake to it. But I have to digress for a second. I'm watching it as I type with my headphones on watching the Cavs game in PiP and you know what? I can really enjoy this vid a lot more with no audio. The audio is really killing it for me. Hammond especially. Sad how much a bad audio presentation can kill the mood... Turned that off and can see the game's plusses a lot better.

With some line play tuning and maybe some rounding off of routes to give it a more organic feel, I could see myself just turning off all the commentary and going with stadium announcers. A lot of the gameplay stuff I can't really judge, especially with the crappy human play. But I'm really digging all of the other presentation outside of Hammond, and the more I watch without him, the more I can see there is some good things going on. A foundation to build on...... BTW this is after watching this clip about 20 times. I don't know... Come on E3!!!!

I like this part "I can see there is some good things going on. A foundation to build on"

To build on? TO BUILD ON?!?! For the love of God man! EA has been "BUILDING" this game for 20 years!!

WHEN are they going to get there?

There were several things in this video I found disturbing, given all the hype Ian has layed on us about "if you see it on Sunday.....". The game STILL lacks emotion, IMO. The commentators sounded worse than last year, really. As other already pointed out, the coin toss will get boring after a couple games if it's always the same sponsor....the 2 guys doing the synchronized dancing before the kickoff really sucked the realism out of that moment.

The generic references to Williams are more of the same we had last year where they rarely used a players name. The pile-up after the fumble looked more like a game of buck-buck with the lineman doing the WWE style dive at the pile.

The refs signalled posession the wrong direction, and the wrong team celebrated.....these are all taken from a very short (and strongly edited) clip of gameplay. If we're seeing THIS many issues in that short a time, I am concerned!!

Overall, color me un-impressed! The game STILL looks like Madden as in past years....and it just doesn't look like what we've been told to expect.
why assume that these issues wont be fixed???? If they wont be fixed IN YOUR OPINION then whats the point of whining about it???
