What is wrong with the football?
Nothing at all in that vid looked better to you?

Downloaded the free QT version. That soothed a lot of framerate fears. But there's just the general sense of "band-aids" that pervaded the vid for me. I can see what they've really worked on, but it just brings out the huge flaws in the gameplay that have always made the game "meh" for me. The decision not to add better locomotion just makes the game seem so stiff. But I have watched the vid a few times and can see the differences, they just aren't overwhelming. Maybe Hammond just sets kind of a generic/blah mood. I will say I like the run blocking on the handoff to Westbrook. The PA fake by McFlabb is bad. He's too upright. No hard fake to it. But I have to digress for a second. I'm watching it as I type with my headphones on watching the Cavs game in PiP and you know what? I can really enjoy this vid a lot more with no audio. The audio is really killing it for me. Hammond especially. Sad how much a bad audio presentation can kill the mood... Turned that off and can see the game's plusses a lot better.

With some line play tuning and maybe some rounding off of routes to give it a more organic feel, I could see myself just turning off all the commentary and going with stadium announcers. A lot of the gameplay stuff I can't really judge, especially with the crappy human play. But I'm really digging all of the other presentation outside of Hammond, and the more I watch without him, the more I can see there is some good things going on. A foundation to build on...... BTW this is after watching this clip about 20 times. I don't know... Come on E3!!!!

1) The presentation looked really outstanding. From the coin toss to Romo using the phone. It truly looked like a TV broadcast. The attention to detail on the players is looking good so far. It is going to be impossible to please everybody but they are doing a good job so far

2) I thought that the pile-up for the fumble looked outstanding as well although I will be one of those people that turns the mini-game off.

Can someone of that weight and size jump that high?!?! I also feel sorry for the people in the pile.

3) Players move without much weight and momentum. When Hamlin tackled Macklin, all of Macklin’s momentum seemed to have ended at the moment Hamlin joined in. I am pretty sure Ian state that he is working on this. Also, defenders are still able to insta-turn and change directions on a dime. I am not really seeing the improvements mentioned in the player momentum blog. This is probably a major disappointment for me I think we will have to wait until M11 for any hope of this.

4) I am not sure if the o-line should be as spread out as it is. The running lanes are MASSIVE and pocket is quite large. From seeing actual gameplay footage I can see were LBzrule is coming from when he says that DEs and OLBs should be getting upfield faster. Also the play of free blockers needs some fixing.

5) Tackle animations looked decent. They were not amazing but they were not that bad either. I thought the last one were the CB tackled the WR after the TD looked particularly nice.

6) Personally, I still don’t dig the running animations. Tweaking them might have IMPROVED them but I want them to be FIXED. It’s hard to specifically point out what I don’t like about them but they seem bobbing up and down too much. Also they are holding out the ball too far from his body. Lastly, it does not look like they are running very hard but rather leisurely jogging. A lot of people seem to be fine with the running, but I don’t know, I just don’t like it.

7) Graphics were okay. I wasn’t impressed with them like I was with the screens and the Pro-Tak documentary. I guess the game will look best in replay mode. I still think that the ankles look too thin although the colored gloves and cleats look nice.

+10000000 this post expresses everything that I'm thinking. nice stuff

Tell me about it, I have been waiting for this like forever! Please let it be true!

Nice breakdown man. I also agree with the run animations. I couldn't really notice the improvement that much.

And yeah, players still turn too fast.

The play calling screen was not that great. I personally like the ps2's play screen compared to this years Madden but other than that looks good.

Looking better, its a start. one thing tho and it always drives me nuts, is when two players side by side (like during the kick-off in the vid) do the same animation. i am no programmer, and do not know if it can be fixed, but it does look really bad. I do Like the presentation.

icomb1ne I agree 1000% with your post. You can't help but notice at the :53 mark the LB just cuts on a dime in pursuit of Westbrook. It's disappointing to see.

personally i was happy with the pocket, speed of the game, and celebrations. We havent even seen the big reveal at E3 ill have to say this game is a buy for me.

You can tell the video was edited to show us certain things. I liked the video though, I was impressed how smooth the game looked and how smooth the TV camera transition was at the end of plays. Fellas dont examine this video with a microscope, Im betting there's alot more to be seen from this game, this was just a teaser, especially with it looking like its been somewhat edited for the viewers. Its still early we need to see alot more finished product gameplay to get a true feel for the game.

i agree... focus on the good right now, when the game is closer to its final build then be critical with the small details

oh please you guys would be content with whatever. even if it was garbage youd find some way to defend it. i just dont see how much more different it will be than it is right now. they probably wont tweak it as much as it needs to be cause people wont care. theyll buy it cause they get their presentation which will get old, than you get stuck with hyped up same old gameplay.

While I appreciate the limited pre-game show, Hammond sounds totally robotic and needs to go. It also wouldn't hurt to extend it a bit longer than just a few sentences.

To me its like EA is just trying match what Visual Concepts did 5 years ago but not going above or beyond....

Huhh... man...

it's going to be a crazy couple of days on OS.

Everybody here can pick out something wrong with the vid, but if you honestly can't see ANYTHING better in the vid then I don't really know what to say to you...

Who is Romo talking to? Jason Garrett doesn't sit in the booth.

"If it's in the game, it's in the game."

Check it out, there is not way that should have happened.....
Isn't that the user controlled cornerback moment?
