Like the demo despite some of the issues. TPC is difficult, but am getting better the more I use it. Was a stick guy for FN3, so I just need some more time to get the feel back.
Have a good feeling this game will satisfy my boxing gaming needs. Dying to hear more about career mode, but based on community day hints, I am thinking it will be good.

I'm not sure why some people are complaining? The demo is excellent and I'm no EA fanboy. The graphics are amazing and it feels like your watching a fight on TV . As far as TPC .. I like it. I'm pretty sure with practice I'll get better at it. Another thing when I was fighting as Manny , Ricky would just come at me and I thought man this is just gonna be a slugfest. Then I played as Ricky and Manny was more about boxing and setting up his punches. So I think each fight will be different. My only complaint is that the camera moves so fast it makes it kind a hard to tell where your at in the ring. Now only if EA can make this type of improvement in NCAA and Madden.

just curious has anyone noticed who the best boxers in the game are according to the gallery (based on OVR rating)
Top 5
5. Muhammad Ali 92 OVR
4. "Marvelous" Marvin Hagler 92 OVR
3. "Sugar" Ray Robinson 93 OVR
2. Roberto Duran 93 OVR
1. Pernell "Sweet Pea" Whitaker 96 OVR
WTF EA!?
Jorge Arce 91? but Joe Calzaghe 90? and "Chico" Corrales 85?!
I could go on but why I need help understanding their logic in selecting OVR

BUT I have sort of changed my mind and I will admit that I'm very good w/ TPC and will use it only b/c it's been forced upon me. The thing is I want to see a FNR5, and with this change not many ppl will be patient or skilled enough to use this configuration. This is the best representation of boxing ever but if ppl can't play how they want they'll write it off.

No its all about giving choices to the user and to remove it from offline play too is just absurd.....
what harm would it have done to have it there for offline play???
I don't want to hear all this you "button masher noob" crap until you answer that question
People love to use NHL 09 as an example(Love the skill stick)...but Hockey is a far less precision sport then Boxing. And the goal with the Skill Stick was to give you more control, not take it away which IMO TPC does...and you know what... the old controls are still there for those die hards in NHL 09.
The game can still be very much sim with buttons provided they put in the work to make sure appropriate stats/animations reflecting fatigue are there.
IMO the precision that Buttons allow make it even more realistic to me because I know if I leave any sort of opening Im going to be eating leather..
The problem has never been being able to throw too easily...its been about not punishing people who throw too much or who are out of position with realistic animations and stamina loss.

I've been able to get a lot more time in with the demo.
First off, while at first I thought the crosses lacked any pop at all, I realized that it was my own fault. Don't expect to throw any meaningful crosses if you're 12" from your oppenent. You need full extention to get any good shots in. Although, I still believe it needs a bit of work on the final product as there's been a few times where I've connected on a perfectly timed right hand from the outside and it looked like it should have had a 'heavier' effect. But hearing Brizzo comment on that makes me feel better.
Also, don't think for a second that you can't flash knockdown or KO someone with a regular punch. I just put Manny on the deck with a perfectly timed right-uppercut that he barely got up from. It was a beauty!

Those headbuts seem plenty 'heavy'. I hit the button by accident and I thought I killed Hatton lol.

This game doesn't seem very exciting to me. Even when I knock the other guy down it just sort of "oh..ok then". Limiting the demo to three rounds seems like a bad choice.

We had a brief exchange of glancing blows when I connected with a perfect counter right-uppercut.

Joe Calzaghe has no one great skill that makes him exceptional in a rating. Same for Chico. Chico had amazing heart and power in both hands. Outside of that, what else did he have?
I'm loving this game. I might not even pick up UFC and just wait for this game because the punching etc. is so much better in this and the action is much smoother also. I find myself having much more fun with the Fight Night demo than UFC to be honest.

EA SPORTS World: 1 Hitter Quiter
1 Hitter Quitter (That's the first punch of the 1st round)
In my opinion, the game is just not as deep as UFC. I hate to compare the two because they're different genres, but since a few folks have mentioned it I felt I had to say it. It's essentially a slugfest, and I'm finding it difficult to throw what I want and lean without getting hit.
