General:
  • AL and NL West (including Cubs) schedule addresses. Day games updated to correct time zone.
  • Addressed CPU Pitcher Energy from always full when pressing the quick menu while batting.
  • Fixed the issue when in the bullpen moving from last pitcher (closer) to top pitcher, the top pitcher's stats stay the same as the closer.
  • Inning pitched count corrected for pitchers during spring training. This is in ALL SEASON Modes.
  • Fixed AUTO BASERUNNING. Users should no longer be able to control steels for you or CPU using L1 and L2 in any game at any time.
  • Fixed the Movie Recording feature in both Replay and Replay Vault. Users should no longer get stuck after multiple recordings.
  • Players names not being called correctly in the audio. One specific item was Beltran being called Delgado and vice versa. This line used to be erroneously said for Juan Rivera. It has now been corrected to play for Casey Kotchman. This line used to be erroneously said for David Ortiz. This line used to be erroneously said for Miguel Cabrera. It has now been "disabled".
  • Career stats after going online and using weekly online Live Rosters or using the Online Roster Vault should now be correct.
  • Fixed issues with unbalanced trades when the rosters were full. 3 for 1 trades that will result in people being placed on waivers should now function.

  • Fix switch hitter sub presentations using the wrong helmet sometimes.
  • Fix RTTS CP never getting a goal before the 1st pitch

4.Fixed a bug where the user controlled team would not receive compensation picks when they lose Type A and B freeagents.
5.Fixed bug not allowing farm directors to be hired or fired. Just load into a franchise and fire a farm director during the off-season.
6.Addressed a problem where the title loses simulating functionality in franchise mode when addressing online requests.

Online:
1.Addressed Free Agents in the Online league Live draft. They should now be placed on teams through Roster Update are usable on user’s teams. (Guys like Manny Ramirez or Adam Dunn should now be available.)
2.Fixed Message Board bug that result in no messages being shown after changing full pages.

We all have different things we like to get from a baseball video game but let's remember it's just a game.

Things I like about the patch are uneven trades, the hiring/firing of coaches, and the schedule fix. Those are some really nice improvements over what we had previously.

Now I did have my game crash on me right after the update but I tried it again and have had no problems. So it may happen periodically but as long as you make sure you save your work after each game I don't think it's a big issue.

Things I wish would have been fixed is the DL feature, the lineup glitch, and the historical stat glitch. Apparently they weren't able to fix them though so I'm fine with it. I'll work around it, I'll turn injuries off and even though that's a bit annoying to do I'll make the adjustment. I'll use Knight's rosters I had previously downloaded and that has all the minor leaguers and the correct lineups. I was even hoping for correctable uniform combinations even though I knew that probably wasn't going to be fixed. It's something that annoys me, I don't like seeing the wrong hats with the alternate uniforms but again I'll get over it. I'll overlook the stat glitch and a lot of the other window dressing problems this game has.

I paid $60 to enjoy this game and by george I'm going to do just that. When next year's game comes out I'll buy that one and hope that some of these issues have been addressed. This game though is the best game on the market and I'm going to enjoy it. I suggest everyone else do the same, it's not like the game is unplayable, just think how far these games have come. I remember a time when we didn't have baseball games nearly as good as this game, even with all it's issues.
I can agree to an extent but Im not going to give a free pass when so much wasnt fixed at all and, imo, one of the so called "fixes" screwed up existing franchises. Now how can you tell me I should just enjoy the game for what it is when Im forced to either stop playing my franchise or avoid using the patch so I can actually continue playing it? The entire schedule thing is so damn stupid, really, people are worried that certain teams dont play enough day games? I see your enjoying this schedule fix, but it doesnt prohibit you from playing the game in anyway and imo they should put this whole schedule thing back to the way it was and leave it alone. I would much rather have everyone "suffer" through playing too many night games then have so many have to restart their franchises. Maybe this entire problem isnt related to the schedule fix but it has nothing to do with rosters so Im left to assume that its the schedule issue thats throwing everything off. Im the Dodgers, we open the season on the game playing 3 against San Diego but in real life we played 4. When they addressed the schedule they fixed this but since I was already in mid-May it has thrown everything off, instead of Wolf pitching in the first game of the next series he somehow pitched in the 4th game of the previous series, of which I never played in the first place. Ohh well, I deleted the patch and played a game just fine with zero problems but it also means I miss out on the few things from the patch that I actually want to experience.

I think for next year's game, you guys need to redo/rework the "cpu game time decision logic", because sorry to say... it stinks.

Me personally, Knight's lineup fix does the trick and I'm gleefully getting started tomorrow when I get home. Have been playing franchise games with my friend up here in Escondido and we had some really fantastic games today.

That said, I hope what I've said it as least given some consideration. More is not always better.
im with u jim, all the way. people ask for all kinds of things and wonders how old stuff get overlooked and left broke. you cant just blame the testers either. everyone plays different.

I am only concerned with the xmb crashes in franchise! I use knights latest w/stock fielder ratings. I could care less about lineups/stats bugs! I wanted the dl and trading bugs the most! If knights crashes me(offline) I will have to just use latest scea and do my own edits. I will miss the pitch edits the most! But tons of crashes can't be good for our ps3's in the long run!

tried the L2 on auto baserunning, still works...
im sorry but this fix list is inacurate, i wish i could go back to v1.01...
im frustated with this to say the least...oh well, "keep walking"

Is deleting the patch a simple process? Just do it on xmb opening screen? Thanks

i was thinking about the same thing, its a simple process yeh, but the problem is that u will go back to v1.00 wich is the disk version, before the release day pacth, and i really dont know what that v1.01 update did, so im a bit skeptical in going back to v1.00 , i would like to go back to v1.01, but i dont think thats possible, since psn will now prompt u to download 1.06 not 1.01

is this roster file not working for anyone? The one linked above?

Pre-Patch I had no issues with the wrong name being announced during batter walkup, the flash back replays (when they replay a HR from earlier in the game) worked perfectly, and the post game highlights worked as intended. Now after the patch, the wrong name is announced constantly and the flashback replays and post game highlights don't work period. Great patch, it fixed almost nothing, and broke even more.

Really? that sucks, why the sudden decision on this year's verison?

Sounds good in theory, but if they don't have those "new" things to put on the back of the box, their marketing team has nothing to push... hence leaving us with the same game. Would you and I complain about that, OF COURSE NOT, but you know a lot of people would. Hell, they were complaining this year that SCEA didn't adapt 2k's right stick pitching and fielding. The core of the game, the gameplay, has never been an issue since I've been playing. The stuff this year is too hard to swallow, lineups are a huge part of the game as well as stats. It's mind blowing that this stuff was overlooked.

Let's be honest this is the best baseball game on the market and it's not even close. That being said, this years game from a pure baseball perspective (stats/lineups) is a disappointment.

Way over rated IMO, I have had 2k the last 3 years. Just got a PS3 and the show. NO contest, the Show blows that game out of the water

# 273 callmetaternuts @ 04/28/09 10:11 AM
At this point I'd like to think the SCEA team is FRANTICALLY working on a way to at least save existing franchises. I will be the first to admit that there are a multitude of things I'd like to see fixed (lineup control, rotation control, stats etc), but first should be the ability to keep people's existing franchises and RTTS working.

Im "lucky" in the sense that I waited for the patch before i really started, but some people are 40-50 games in and having it crash on them. Thats not right imo.

Hopefully things get fixed for them (and I wouldnt mind a few items on my/others list either). Hang in there OS'ers

Completely overrated and stupid, but some people want something "new and exciting" every year. That is one of those things that the competition had, so naturally, people wanted SCEA to adopt it.

No post game high lights and replay vault is broken. This was with starting a new franchise after the patch.

I did not check exhibition, but franchise replays are all fouled up.

# 277 callmetaternuts @ 04/28/09 10:52 AM
Sounds to me like we have alot of issues that weren't present now popping up. They might be minor to some but we now have::

- existing franchises crashing
- some are reporting no end of game highlights
- some are saying no flashback (mid-game) replays

Some items that were "fixed" aren't

- Roster control on, the lineups dont stick. only if you do it AFTER Spring Training (not from main menu)
- Announcing wrong names

This is in addition to some other items not being touched (DL - 60 day issue).

Ive already downloaded the patch (D'oh) and have no way back. I ahvent played a game yet as I was waiting to hear some definitive word on the rosters. Is there A) any chance something new is done (i.e. a patch for the patch) or B) someone can "upload" or send out version 1.01. I dont want 1.06 anymore........it makes me sad.

Hopefully SCEA is working towards getting this fixed. They've been nothing but professional and helpful thus far, I hope it continues.

# 278 kt-od @ 04/28/09 10:58 AM
I downloaded the patch last night. It did get the franchise crash to XMB with my previous saved franchise. So, I just restarted my franchise. I was only 20 games in so it wasn't that big of a deal to me.

I had to go through the whole assigning walk-up and music to the players again. I actually had to do it twice. I forgot about the base coaches being wrong if you don't go into SC first.

So, just a little FYI...if you are starting a new franchise make sure you go into SC first before you start your franchise with loaded rosters, otherwise you will have some generic base coaches. The only ones I checked for were Dave Clark for the 'stros; Davy Lopes, and Perlozza for the Phils.

EDIT: After starting a new franchise there were no problems. Highlights were there, flashbacks were there. I play with CPU Roster control off, because the lineup thing really doesn't bother me. I began my new franchise with Knight's FM V.2. So, I think it has the lineup fix anyway.

Ok, I've read through about 5 pages of this, but now I'm getting a bit nervous...

I am 121 games into the first season of my Indians franchise. I downloaded the patch yesterday, and it loaded up and I played my first game, no problem. Saved it afterwards, no problem. I did notice, though, that the post game highlights did NOT work, but there was a "flashback" to a Russell Branyan home run.

I guess I'm wondering, those who were having the "crashing" glitch with the franchise with this patch, how quickly did you notice it? Did you play any games, or was it doing it before you could play a game?

This is kind of upsetting...I really REALLY don't want to lose 121 games of progress...

It happens when you press R2.
