Given that they are on the West Coast, i dont expect anything yet, but im hoping that Russell (or another SCEA guy) comes on today and gives us some good news. Either a very simple work around to all this, or a new patch.

The only thing about a patch for the patch is it takes time to code it, then to QA it, then to send it off to Sony for certification. This isnt something that will be out today or tomorrow. My guess (and it is just a guess) is that IF they try to fix this, we're looking at 2 weeks minimum.

Not trying to be a buzzkill, just realistic.

Countryboy, remember when I started clean yesterday by deleting my Game data utility info because we were grasping at straws concerning the patch functioning?

Well, I really haven't noticed anything wrong with my game other than 2 resets when I was looking at rosters, and then it never happened again after rebooting.

Concerning the replays. After I played a game last night, I was just skipping after the game, and it did start to play a replay for me, but I did not watch any of it except the short time it took me to skip past it, so it was showing something. At least something was there. I hope this isn't really a problem for all of us (sorry you have the problem Fistofrage). I will have to check it out tonight when I get home.

Thats best case scenario UNLESS the wrong patch got sent. I wouldn't be suprised if this is it and they are now focusing on 2010. If they do patch it, I would imagine it will be Late May/Early June. There are obviously quite a few problems that can't easily be fixed without frogging something else up.

It is better than no lineup control for me, but certainly not what I wanted out of this game this year.

Last night I simmed through the end of July and at least Helton stayed batting 3rd in ALL the box scores for Colorado in sim games. But, that could vary depending on fatigue, I suspect. You will just have to check after every day simmed, is the only way to combat this.
Yeah the crappy part is that happenned in the first couple of games (fatigue wouldn't be an issue). I am now going to use Knight's version 2 as his adjustments solve the issue w/o any babysitting on the lineups. I am going back to the previous version too, 1.00 to resolve any highlight issues, crashes, etc. I don't care about the stat glitch b/c I only play one season in my franchise.

I would think they HAVE to attempt to fix it, the franchise crashing etc. They may not address other issues (the replays, flashbacks, roster issues, DL glitch etc), but the problems people are having with old franchises has to be addressed in some way.

I agree though, where they are in the cycle is 2010 time.

the game is very good but it has gameplay flaws and these bugs...i wanna see these same apologist just say that the other sports games are just video games and be so care free
Yes.....I would rather play The Show, with all it's bugs and lineup issues, because it is the BEST baseball sim out today, and maybe the best ever. The only one that comes close is MVP 05.

Of course, I'm frustrated just like you Guru, everyone is, but just because I, or we stick by the game doesn't make us apologist. Personally, I stick with this game and choose not to go on and on about what doesn't work because, like I said, nothing even comes close to it as far as actual gameplay and realism.

See, the thing at this point is, there is nothing that can change or fix the issues at hand. Obviously, they tried and it didn't work. But IMO, after my initial disappointment and getting my frustrations out last night, I played a game and realized again why I love this game so much. It did, and does for me what I want my games to do for me and that is to give me a chance to pass my time in a fun way. Even with all the bugs and glitches, it still does that.

So, if you really love baseball and really want to play a realistic baseball video game, you will grab one of these beautiful rosters Knight did and start your franchise. I think the Scea team understands their errors and we will all have an even better experience next year.

Sorry I wasn't trying to be a jerk - it just happens (kind of annoyed with everything today and yesterday)

There were several guys yesterday who were in franchises that were crashing and they weren't pressing R2 either.

I just don't want SCEA to think that the R2 issue is the only problem.

Sounds like the patch has created more issues than it fixed? I haven't downloaded it yet and I'm not sure that I'm going to. From what I'm gathering, Russell claims that certain issues such as stamina, lineup, and incorrect name issues were addressed and everyone else says that they weren't? Could it be possible that there was a problem with the patch and that somehow everyone downloaded a corrupted version?

I started my first franchise yesterday as I've been playing RTTS workin on gettin those trophies. I had NO prior franchise save. I deleted my old settings, rosters, sliders and completely started from scratch as the stuff I was using was entielry meant for RTTS. I'm pretty happy with how it plays out of the box with the exception of strike % which I lower all the way down.

So even post patch this was plan, lucky me I guess. Mind you I'm not a roster guy, control guy, I don't care about who bats where unless it is my own team. The stat historical stat glitch bugged me but I DL'ed the new scea rosters and it's all good.

I played 4 games last night and had zero problems. No crashing, replays worked, even the my soundtrack stuck. It was only 4 games but I'm keepin my fingers crossed it stays the same.

Hey, it's like Russell told me once before, it's just business.

So when does NCAA Football come out?

Guys, I bought The Show 09 and have yet to open it. I've been reading all the posts about the patch and doesn't sound good. I'm not willing to go through all these work arounds, just to get things to work. Will this game work with a new install with SCEA's newest roster? Should I keep it or exchange it for another sports game. I have NBA 2K9 for the PS3 already.

Its still a good game of baseball. You shouldn't have any crashes or historical stat glitches if you start up a regular franchise. You may not get replays.

If you do RTTS, you may want to read some of this first, I don't play it so I can't speak to it.

You'll still get alot of enjoyment out of it. But if some of the mentioned problems in this thread will gnaw at you, you may want to get a different game.

Thanks fist, I'm going for it. It's only money. Not life or death.

Honestly I say open it and enjoy. You can see what I wrote in response to Countyboy's question. The roster control guys are a bit ticked, rightfully so, but I'm not that type of player. I just care about my own team. If that's how you play then open it up Dl all the new stuff, rosters, patch, etc.. and you should enjoy it. The game is incredible. I feel very fortunate that I waited because it really is a new game to me as I only played RTTS JUST for the trophies LOL. I never played that mode until this year as I'm a minor trophy ho and wanted them.

So I think for those who have not started or are just now buying it they won't see the issues. It just bytes for those who are so far into their seasons that have to start all over agian.

Hey guys,

I saw the list of fixes and changes to the game that come with the patch on the first page. I was wondering if there had been any gameplay tweaks or changes due to the patch? (i.e. hitting easier or more difficult, CPU pitchers throw more balls on default settings).

I know no such changes are mentioned, but I just wanted to make sure because I loved the gameplay pre-patch.

Thanks in advance!

I played 3 games last night on my franchise file....I was in the postseason....In 2010...no problems...

I then saved simmed to offseason, did some signings etc...NOTHING!!

I was using Ridins latest roster using the Yankees.

No worries. I'm not upset. I just thought it was an odd word to choose.

Hey guys,

I have a quick question about the patch.

A couple days ago I read a post about a glitch during RTTS where you weren't supposed to do hitting practice during the month of September? Does anyone know about this? Is this still an issue? I tried finding the original thread but couldn't. I skipped the one or two batting practices I got in September just to be sure.

The other day though, my guy got injured and went on the 60 day DL. When I came back, the AAA schedule was over and I was pulled up to the majors. The first game I was supposed to play had no image for the pitcher. I played it and it got stuck on the loading screen. I reloaded my save and tried again, same thing. To get around this, I had to sim that game and then play the game after that had the pitchers faces and it worked fine. Just thought I would throw it out there to see if anyone else saw this before.
