Thanks for the guys that checked out the auto baserunning stuff. But after reading about franchise freezes, I'm not downloading. At this point, the only positive for me would be the Cubs schedule and its not worth it.

Has anyone tried loading Knights roster, deleting it off hard drive then resaving it as a new file?

That might save any changes the patch has caused enabling the historics to work

I just went through the White Sox schedule and it is still wrong. Did they only fix the NL teams?

And by then, what's the point? In the end, you do the best you can with what you have. In my humble opinion, guys like Knight, Ridin, and Wookie (there you go man) saved this game. SCEA are the ones who dropped the ball.
Exactly, and what would waiting accomplish anyways? Say Knight waits, he would still be 3 weeks in when this was released and would still have to start over if he wanted the historical stats anyways. SCEA really dropped the ball with this, not the roster makers, and its completely unfortunate to say the least.

I even uploaded a version of his and downloaded just to see if the career stats would resort- they didn't.

I'll tell you what...I just looked at all the different updates from SCEA and the one I picked(second update) was the "perfect" one for what I wanted to accomplish.
It has the most editable players(there is just ONE fake dev player in the whole set on ONE team) ...and good amount of A potential guys(other than CAPS).
I just considered using the latest update and redoing everything...but there are simply not enough guys editable on that set for me to warrant doing it. Weighing the stat glitch vs. what I know needs to be done for the roster to be correct for FullMinors....it's just not there.
So it wouldn't have mattered anyway.
Guys are going to grab the latest update....do their edits/creations and that is great. Very nice work and exactly what some guys might be looking for. It's just not the right fit for me(not their work....the "base set" I would have to use from SCEA right now)

Russell said they fixed the NLW,ALW, and Cubs. The West coast teams played almost 90% road day games. I don't think they corrected every team to be exact unfortunately

Thats wookie tellin you
Wookie, you have posted this multiple times including in one of my threads, so I feel you need a response You seem really bothered that no one is using your rosters.

There have been several posters here that say your historical stats are messed up too, workaround or no workaround. Commissioner HBK is one I remember, oh and Dave_sz to name a few. I personally have not checked. You probably think they are OK because you started a franchise with them. So of course they will be OK for you. Sorry, I think you are mistaken when you say you do not have the historical stat glitch. Can someone independently confirm this? Maybe you don't have it, but everyone else will. Once again, if they saved a franchise with yours early on (before SCEA released the fist online rosters) or maybe if they never got on sports connect at all, then they won't have the stat glitch.

Russell_SCEA replied to my post and said that all rosters except SCEA 4/20 and SCEA 4/27 (and any roster edits made with those which doesn't include yours) are the ONLY ones that won't have the stat glitch. This is also what I have seen so far. How can yours be excluded? What did you do that no one else did (serious question)? Did you never get on Sports Connect possibly?

Also, lastly, your players and pitchers are no longer stock (meaning you edited their attributes) correct?
Some people just aren't interested in edited rosters (unless they are aware of the quality, like Knights) (By the way, I am not judging your rosters, since I have not seen them. They may be great, so please don't take offense). Some people just want SCEA players, and then people that are missing.

Chef, if you don't go online for any reason, I wouldn't download the patch since you are 40 games into your franchise. That's a lot of games to replay.
I have waited to start a real franchise, and I am glad I did. I had a bad feeling starting over may be required, which I am going to do. All previous franchises will be deleted for me now.

If you do feel like you need the patch, I would start a new franchise. Sucks, brotha.

As much as the career stat glitch sucks, one has to weigh this glitch versus having accurate minor league players/prospects to deal with (as well as edited MLB stances, deliveries, etc.) in franchise, especially in future years of the franchise. I think at the end of the day, that is more important if you are going to play more than one year of a franchise.

Plus, not every career stat is wrong. I know stats are big in baseball, but as far as I know, it will track season stats correctly (and guys that don't have the career stat glitch, right?).

At the end of the day, it comes down to individual preference, but the above is my opinion.

Well, sorry to interrupt some of the doom and gloom, but on a a bit of brighter news...lol...after simming through a couple seasons, I changed the staff of four teams now (including the mystical farm director) with no hiccups or weird swapping, so that's a plus.

Also, as someone mentioned, unbalanced trades are now handled AND I believe I noticed I was properly compensated for my FAs (to be fair though, I only ran test runs pre-patch as well, so it's not something I had ever specifically looked at pre-patch).

Far from perfect guys, and I certainly understand the frustration of those who are having to start from scratch, but if you haven't passed the point of no return, the patch is actually a solid improvement IMO.

My 2 cents are that this patch sucks. I know most games won't go this far to fix a product that is broke but if it was tested it wouldn't be broke. I don't get how when this game was released there was already bugs and glitches up within hours shouldn't have this been caught before? With all the time wasted waitng for the patch, not knowing what it will fix (not much) I really soured on this game. Knight got me hooked last year with the rosters and I was amped up this year for the game after reading about all the new features, but it seems that they overlooked all the bugs to get these features. With all the problems not fixed and the problems with this new patch it seems like a waste of time. You can't enjoy the work of Knight and Co unless you go and spend money for another controller and you can't get any of the new patch features without all the roster problems and stat problems. I've waited for this patch to start my chise and with nothing fixed like they say it is, the wait has made me forget this game, sorry for the rant guys, maybe they will make a patch to fix the patch. Knight and Co your rosters may be the last chance but not for a while

Yeah, I guess you're right it's better than nothing. Man, I've been wishing for years that we could just turn the whole fatigue/CPU logic stuff OFF if we want. I understand the thought behind it, but for me it's always caused more harm than good. I like to emulate the real lineups before each game. I usually set them up the following day after the real games have been played (yeah it's fanatical, I don't deny it). It's such a pain to have all my efforts thwarted by some bogus cpu logic and to constantly get that message about the coach thinks "so and so" could use a day off, I'll rest them when the real guys rest. On top of that it causes all these other unnecessary problems (RBI men leading off, the DH always being exhausted, etc...just silly). Same goes for the pitcher confidence stuff, it's way overdone IMO. Leave it in the game for those who want it but I'm begging SCEA to please give us the option of turning this stuff OFF already and let us play our games the way we want to.

Ya, the historical sucks to lose but having milb guys is much better, especially in a RTTS where the only stats you worr yabout are your own guys anyway.

It might even be kind of funny if like gabe kapler or someone gets 3000 hits, just have to laugh

I agree, and I think its worth downloading unless you are set in finishing your previous franchise.
The CPU roster control lineup workaround is enough reason for me to have downloaded it, plus the Cubs schedule since I play with the Cubs.

Earlier I thought it was just a BS patch, now Ive learned its a complete cockup, for me anyhow. I couldn't be more disappointed.

Im going back to NHL 09...and maybe in a few months the issues will be solved.

# 240 gbx34 @ 04/28/09 12:32 AM
I just got done with a game. I went to the replay vault and there were no players on the field during the replay!?! Anyone else?
