No post game high lights and replay vault is broken. This was with starting a new franchise after the patch.

I did not check exhibition, but franchise replays are all fouled up.

Re: New Patch Released 4/27/09 - Impressions and Discussion

Sounds to me like we have alot of issues that weren't present now popping up. They might be minor to some but we now have::

- existing franchises crashing
- some are reporting no end of game highlights
- some are saying no flashback (mid-game) replays

Some items that were "fixed" aren't

- Roster control on, the lineups dont stick. only if you do it AFTER Spring Training (not from main menu)
- Announcing wrong names

This is in addition to some other items not being touched (DL - 60 day issue).

Ive already downloaded the patch (D'oh) and have no way back. I ahvent played a game yet as I was waiting to hear some definitive word on the rosters. Is there A) any chance something new is done (i.e. a patch for the patch) or B) someone can "upload" or send out version 1.01. I dont want 1.06 anymore........it makes me sad.

Hopefully SCEA is working towards getting this fixed. They've been nothing but professional and helpful thus far, I hope it continues.

Re: MLB 09: The Show Patch Released 4/27/09 - Impressions and Discussion Here

I downloaded the patch last night. It did get the franchise crash to XMB with my previous saved franchise. So, I just restarted my franchise. I was only 20 games in so it wasn't that big of a deal to me.

I had to go through the whole assigning walk-up and music to the players again. I actually had to do it twice. I forgot about the base coaches being wrong if you don't go into SC first.

So, just a little FYI...if you are starting a new franchise make sure you go into SC first before you start your franchise with loaded rosters, otherwise you will have some generic base coaches. The only ones I checked for were Dave Clark for the 'stros; Davy Lopes, and Perlozza for the Phils.

EDIT: After starting a new franchise there were no problems. Highlights were there, flashbacks were there. I play with CPU Roster control off, because the lineup thing really doesn't bother me. I began my new franchise with Knight's FM V.2. So, I think it has the lineup fix anyway.

Ok, I've read through about 5 pages of this, but now I'm getting a bit nervous...

I am 121 games into the first season of my Indians franchise. I downloaded the patch yesterday, and it loaded up and I played my first game, no problem. Saved it afterwards, no problem. I did notice, though, that the post game highlights did NOT work, but there was a "flashback" to a Russell Branyan home run.

I guess I'm wondering, those who were having the "crashing" glitch with the franchise with this patch, how quickly did you notice it? Did you play any games, or was it doing it before you could play a game?

This is kind of upsetting...I really REALLY don't want to lose 121 games of progress...

Once again...it is NOT the roster...it is your franchise save.

Brunnoce,

I think patch 1.01 addressed online issues if I remember correctly.

Edit: This is all I could find about Patch 1.01 from one of the SCEA guys Russell_SCEA I think:
"Re: 1.01 patch..what does this do?

This patch was made to fix issues we found before the game shipped. I'll see if I can get a list of what it fixed, but I wouldn't count on it."

No list then was ever posted that I could find. There was speculation about the ticker and some people mentioned check swings (may have been placebo effect?)

If someone did not download the newest patch (1.06) yet, but have the other patch (1.01), then possibly they could put the Game Data Utility information on a USB drive, zip it, and post it so that you could get patch 1.01 back. It is around 2604 MB.

What I usually do on the Xbox 360 is use the xport to save the title updates (patches) on my computer. That way, if I don't like the new patch, I can put the old one back on (of course you can't play online then on the 360). I considered saving that PS3 game data utility information yesterday, but did not, and upgraded to the patch already.
Having said that, I haven't had too many problems except my PS3 did reboot a couple of times last night when I was looking at rosters. I shut it down completely, and then did not have the problem again at all.

For those people that have already downloaded the patch and are having problems (other than franchise freezes with existing franchises) this is what I would do: Delete your GAME data utility (don't delete SAVE data utility or you will lose your saves like rosters) by selecting it and pressing the triangle, then choose delete. You then can reinstall the patch (if you want it, if not you will go back to the out of the box version, but remember there was another version 1.01 that had some fixes, I think mostly online, you'll have to look back and check) and the game to your HDD when you put the game disc in.
I actually did this yesterday, but I did it because I was hoping that is why the patch wasn't "working" (I was trying everything, lol) (CPU lineups, etc.). Maybe that is why I am not seeing some of the problems (crashes, videos not working, EDIT: I haven't actually looked about the replays, so I'm not sure about it yet) some people are reporting . Just a thought, it probably won't make a difference though, but may be worth a shot in the meantime for some.
