Madden 2010 News Post

Check out the new Madden NFL 10 blog. This one features the importance of an early community day.

Quote:
"On April 10, we flew in 8 of the most hardcore Madden fans for a marathon testing day to get an extremely early look at our Alpha build and provide feedback based on where the game is thus far. You may ask, “What is new about this? Haven’t you had community events in the past?” Yes, we have done these before, but there are some key differences."

You know, I never realized that there were THAT many haters lurking around this site. It's freaking pathetic. You would think by now that people would of gotten over it.

IT'S OK PEOPLE!!! There's always next year. For Pete's sake, leave these guys alone!

The latest one was quoted from a different site he frequents, not from OS.

Sometimes I think you're one of the few guys that actually reads posts here on OS.

I'm 110 percent sure that with the guys they chose, they got quality feedback and input, and it's up to the guys to take that and run with it. Look at an LBz post, or one of adembroski's posts. Actually read it, and understand that the goal is the same. Get a game that is fun, authentic, and as close to the game that we all love.

It's not a hard thing to grasp. I would have absolutely died to go, but honestly, if I would have been choosing, the same 8 guys would have been there. Knowing that I can come on here, see a post by Phil or Ian and expect 100 pages of replies is cool, but knowing that there's a community of like-minded people here is way way better.

I sent Ian a PM way back at the beginning of Madden 09's life...it had sucked me in far more than any of the last 3 years. Of course, as the tread wore off the tire, I did start to become a bit more critical, and eventually, the game just lost luster for me. But it was a start, and you've got to acknowledge that. These guys are like head coaches that are expected to win in their first year, and to be honest, I think with 1 full offseason they've done more than we could have asked for.

So be critical, but be realistic as well.

Dave, remember OS has a lot of older gamers who are 30 plus, where a lot of those other sites are loaded with more little kids. Don't let them get to you.

It's one, maybe 2 guys. Most of that site are good people.

if grown men spend their grown money on a NFL game, they have a right to question the game, because most old school cats dont cheat! Most older guys know X's and Os not cheats. and im not talking about guys who pee sitting down im talking about old guys who would take some one behind the wood shed if they were talking noise, not these powder puff young guys who think sim means going for it on 4th down and having your qb run around like they were playing BLitz for 25 cents at the arcade.

Dont get mad at the old school guys who want a good game. Some of you haven't even played real football, most of you stay at home and listen to your i pods and stay on your computers. when was the last time you played throw up tackle or street football. If any of you know football 101 you would question every madden game that has come out because its not real football. People work hard for their money and they should get the best football game out. So dont get mad or upset if some guys have problems with the game. Maybe you should step back and learn for guys who dont have to worry about being in a time were "all kids win" when you fell of your bike you didnt have mommy kiss it and make it feel better. We just have to wait and see with our own two eyes. but you young kids need to listen to guys who know what football is and not hide behind your computers and your words. knowing you wouldnt do it in real life. keep it 100 or go home.

Hi guys,

Thanks for representing the OS community at EA’s Community Day and then taking the time to share your thoughts and experiences with all of us. I’m sure you represented those of us who love football and frequent the OS forums in the best of light. Hopefully this August we all will be playing the game we’ve dreamed of since we bought our first computers. I know there is much that you can’t talk about but as a “coach mode” player I’m wondering if there was anything you observed in Madden 10 that you feel will compensate us for the loss of Head Coach. Also, I don’t know if you had a chance to play full games against the CPU but could you give us a feel for the play calling AI. Specifically, does the new “adaptive AI” extend to play calling or does each game basically feel the same? Will teams have distinct playing styles and will coaches have personalities? Did teams seem to play to their strengths and look to exploit your weaknesses or did it feel like previous Maddens where, all too often, it felt like the play the CPU called was selected specifically to counter the play you just called? Head Coach 09 tried to make strides in this direction but in the end was limited by the existing Madden framework.

Thanks again!
