Well i finally was able to win the 4 inning mini-game on legend level 6-2 using the Rays. I was 0-15, so i guess i got a read on Hamels now(lol). I am really liking legend mode cant wait to get it started for real in a couple of weeks. Is there a way to turn off the indicator under the player?

As far as lag. Ugh, hit or miss. You can play an almost lag free game and next play one that looks like it's freeze framed every....well, frame.

Watch for the on-line sign ups here as we don't put up with nonsense. This year it was HOF, Classic Pitching, all aids off, NEW baserunning. Lots of fun (if you didn't get lag).
Thanks for your input

The reason I ask is I come from helping run a 2k7 league(won't get into 2k8) that ran 6 seasons long. We had a great group of guys and I have never had as much fun playing a sports game. Also did the whole High Heat baseball league thing on the PC way back when. Hopefully I can link up with some vets of The Show even though im the rookie around here.

Just played a 6 inning game, what a gem. Both pitchers dominated (on HOF), I was the Rays and Hamels seemed unhittable early on. As the game progressed he started throwing more pitches out of the zone and I started to hit him around a little although I could not score. In a game tied 0-0 in the bottom of the 6th I gave up a walk off HR to Jimmy Rollins and saw the most beautiful camera view as he pimped his HR job

An option to turn off the player indicators would be great!

Finally got a chance to play the demo after getting home and i was very impressed. I won as the Rays 3-2 in a 4 inning game, was a sweat comeback win fo rme, all 3 runs scored in the top of the 4th. Anyways i seemed to be stuggling hitting while trying to move the left stick to like aim it or whatever so i decided to just swing and that seemed to work better for me (on allstar).

One question i do have, is how exactly are you supposed to pitch? Like when the catcher sets up do you want the pitch to break to that spot or break from that spot? Like if the catcher wants me to throw a slider do i have it so the pitch will break and end up where he wants or is that when i want it to start breaking?

"He" wants you to throw your pitch to that spot. Hit his glove in other words.

Even those pics look good, they are not doing it any justice. I was playing a game at Yankee stadium and it gave you the feeling there could be rain at any point.

I came across a bit of a problem on the Demo last night. I have a runner on first, 1 out. I hit a tapper towards SS expecting a double play. SS picks up the ball and casually strolls to 2nd base and my runner gets there safe, he then throws it 1st but it goes over the 1B head....ok I'm thinking this SS is having a VERY bad day.....my guy on 2nd advances to 3rd and the batter advances to 2nd. The catcher runs over to where the ball is picks it up and just stands there....meanwhile my two runners round all the bases and I score 2 runs. While this is happening the catcher just stands there with the ball looking like an idiot!! I saw this happen a few times in '08....I hope it isn't in the '09 final version!

Why did you take the runs? Cheap.

lol

Last night I was playing and paused the game to take a phone call and the PA announcer mentions an upcoming promotion where Seniors run the bases.

You completely missed the point of my post.

The point is that the game shouldn't have allowed me to take the runs....it should have tried to throw me out while my guys were running around the bases!

# 1174 Pared @ 02/13/09 11:51 AM
No no, your point was rather transparent. But what you did was take advantage of an AI flaw, which is cheap. In a demo no less!

Shame on you.

Minor detail but annoying. The Pitcher is on top of the rubber when he pivots and throws.

Otherwise looks good.

Adjusting fielders...............can we do this in the demo?? If so, how is it done?? I've tried every possible button and button combination known to the modern world and nothing!!!

I could swear that Countryboy (while playing one of his 100 demo games......LOL) mentioned something about adjusting his fielders in the 09 demo during a certain game play situation. Or did I just misread that

You can't adjust fielders during the demo.

The cpu automatically adjust your fielders for you. Play against the Phils and have Howard come to bat with no one on, and then press the start button and look at the lower right hand corner of the screen and it will show you the defensive shift that the outfield is in. For Howard, they do an extreme shift for him to pull.

Okay, thanks Countryboy............I thought I was going nuts, hehe

I've seen the shift on screen for Howard but didn't realize you could see the type of shift being used in the pause menu.

You should be ashamed of yourself.
