The problem is, the list they showed was the 2007 NL leaders and Hamels wasn't on the list. I just wanted to see if anybody else has noticed anything similar to this?
I brought it up at the CD and it should be fixed.

The catcher just gave me the closed fist (pickoff) signal, and I almost got Rollins at first. I like that feature a lot.

Unfortunately, I'm also still getting that up the middle fielder running by the ball stuff that was in last year. Hopefully that's a non-final build thing.

Ok, sounds good. I figured little things like that would be tweaked before the final build.

Any idea if they had any intention on adding a shadow to the ball? I could accept not seeing shadow on shadow, but even when the game turned to night I wasn't seeing the reflection of the ball on the outfield grass. Setting fielding cam to high helped track the ball, but I prefer to play on medium.

I honestly don't think so. I'm not 100% sure if they saw it as an issue (although I see your concern).

I had no problem tracking the ball using medium... but then again, last year I played will ALL fielding aids off.

I only managed to squeeze in a couple of innings last night since it took quite a while to d/l and install.

You guys weren't kidding about the lighting....WOW. To watch a fly ball go in and out of the shadows is amazing. The stadiums and the crowds look awesome. I keep asking myself "is that a real picture or CGI"...even though I know it's CGI.

I walked the leadoff batter in a 14 pitch battle, then walked the second guy on 5 pitches. Then I changed to Classic pitching...I haven't done the meter thing since MVP 05, and it shows. I suck at hitting.

FWIW I do see the slight framerate issue while pitching, but I'm not worried about it -> DEMO.

Gorgeous game, great work SCEA! I'm not sure if this has made it easier or harder to wait until March 3.

Now to find something to keep the kids occupied this afternoon.

I've only played 20 innings but I haven't seen an actual fielding error by anyone on any team yet myself. I've seen a couple throwing errors but no fielding errors and that could be a concern. Very early though.

I do love that the pitch speed can be slowed down more than last year. Plus the bat speed is faster through the zone. I can actually draw walks and pull pitches! I love it! I won't be as frustrated as I got with '08. This is the biggest improvement for me.

Edit: I should add that I like the new check swing stuff. I do see a framerate issue for the pitches (not too bad but it's there for me). The plate coverage seems to be a bit smaller as well which I like. The cpu hitters chase stuff out of the zone more which is an improvement as well. I pulled a HR to left this morning and the replay and lighting was great on it!

I've only been playing '08 for 2 months and I just started playing without the fielding aids. I'm sure I'll adjust even without the shadows. Thanks.

Oh yeah, one thing I really liked. One of the TB players hit a grounder down the third base line. It landed about halfway between home and 3rd, and Feliz couldn't get there in time so it was a hit.

Went to check the replay and the spin of the ball made it bounce very realistically. Loved it.

The replays appear to have received some attention for this year. The angles are better and I swear the speed of them is better than last year's. Last year the slo-mo on most replays started to get to me. Now they appear much more like a TV broadcast which is nice. The behind the pitcher view for strikeouts is nice.

One thing that really caught me off guard, but you warned us about it, was how alive the stadium felt. With being able to see people moving up and down aisles and out in the porch in center field, I adore it. Little things like that really make a much bigger difference in the game, to me at least. This is the best baseball game I've ever played and it is only the demo. I can't wait for the release on March 3rd.

What is even more bad arse, if you watch the crowd, you will see different animations for people "scooting" by others sitting (noticed it right away in the very first intro I watched), while making their way to the stairs. SICK DETAILS!

# 415 spitoon @ 02/06/09 01:10 PM
Oh, and by the way:

I had 4 check swings (successful) in the first 2 batters. When I was playing 08 regularly I used to check swing ALOT...maybe I'm good at it?

After playing this demo I really want to refrain from posting any negatives, but I agree in that regard. There are many stances where, assuming it was by the BSG, that I wish they asked him to lighten up his... well, I'm not going to call it "goofiness" out of respect for whomever does not appreciate that term, but if you know what I'm going after, then more power to everyone.

But it's not just Navarro. Look at Victorino (it's not bad, actually), Peņa's shoulders, and if you get Gabe Gross or Willy Aybar to pinch hit you'll find some other strange ones too.

In the end, I guess it's at least cool that they're captured and they're unique. To what extent is another question.

Forgot to mention that Hamels put his jacket on in 3rd inning after a double down the line. I was not happy about that (the double that is).

I haven't even messed with sliders but that's really cool to hear. I may try that eventually.

I went to sleep at midnight with it @ 64%.....I wanted to get an inning or two before I left for work this AM but couldn't swing it.

It's killing me reading about all this cool stuff.....come on 3:30!

I wouldn't say it's fixed. The problem is that non of the guys who went say they see the problem with the demo. So they don't see it at Scea and don't see it now. There's been more then 50 people I've read are having this problem including my self and 3 friends of mine. It's not my tv cause it was perfect in 08. I also notice once the batter comes to the plate it's smooth but as soon as the pitcher picks his pitch the framerate dips.
