Some new things I noticed while playing the demo today:
I was playing as the Lakers, and started the game with a 9-0 run. At their next possesion, Rondo brings up the ball, and calls a timeout AFTER he crosses the half court. This is the first time I've seen this logic in a Live game, as usually they just call timeouts right away after you score. (If this was in prior next-gen Live titles, my bad, haven't played them).
After the timeout, I play great defense and eventually end the quarter leading 12-0.
Funny thing during the quarter timeout - Marv was saying how impressed he was that the Lakers, on a road game and at the end of a back-to-back, came out very aggressive. He even mentioned that usually teams would just want the game to be over with so they can go home.
At the start of the 2nd quarter, with me leading 12-0 and shooting over 50%, the Celtics come out in a zone defense. Nice! I missed the shot and they scored on the other end, then they went back to man. I dunno how long they would've kept the zone if I still scored and they didn't.

Sweet. So the CPU will play zone against you? Sorry, haven't played too much current gen Live. It would have been nice if they stayed in it a bit longer. Hopefully these games start really focusing on the zone defenses. Alot of teams use it, even if it is just for stretches of time during a given game.

I'd love to hear Moses' response.
Wow. For some reason it seems sort of a fast release for Pierce. It also seems like he's not getting up under the ball enough when preparing for the shot.
That boggles the mind a bit, but do you remember it animating that way on your computer?

Here is the video of Paul Pierce motion capturing for them...

He crouches over, that's what I'm trying to say. That's not part of the game.

That might be how he shoots in practice but that is definitely not how he shoots in a game and that's why it looks bad. That's one of the bad things with mo capping shots because most guys are not going to put the full effort into doing it and are instead going to shoot like they are doing warmups.

Live Kobe jumpshot:

Now what I want for Live 2010 is this move by Kobe (follow the link, then click on his pull-up jumper move):

It's just a simple pull-up jumper from a hard dribble. The thing is though, it is not a straight-up jumper, and it's not a strong fade also - he sort of fades a little bit, with a small leg extension. In Live, you can do a straight-up jumper and an exaggerated fade (with the high leg kick) from a hard dribble, but not a soft fade such as this. Hopefully in 2010 we can choose to perform a hard or soft fade.

Yeah the height is tricky, that Nike vid that I posted probably isn't a good indicator because he's doing it casually, but obviously during real games the height on his jumpshot varies.
Check out this vid. I loved this particular game because of the plethora of jumpshots that Kobe showed, sometimes even doing the fade with the high kick.

As you can see some jumpshots are high, and while not as high as the Live vid, higher than his casual jumpshot in the Nike one.
Interesting comment regarding NBA 09, I might dl it tonight if I'm bored just too see Kobe's shot.
