11 minute quarters, just finishing up the first half. My initial reaction. They fixed it. Pursuit angles are better, cpu runs the ball better, defense is better, heck even cpu thrown ints looked better. Seriously, have you ever seen the cpu run their main back 14 times in the 1st half? I play on 11 min qtrs and I've never seen this. They rushed the ball more than they threw it like CSU should, what the heck is going on?

CPU qb numbers are fantastic. No picks, spot on %.
Thats my impression too, granted only from 1 quarter. But the CPU was 3-9 passing in that quarter. Might be the first time I've seen them below 50% for more than a first incomplete pass.

I'm interested to know if what I saw with the CPU throwing deep was coincidence, because I didn't think it was in the patch either. I saw 3 deep throws in the first quarter by TCU.

Jess and I are using an All American Slider set and I'm on the road at Alabama.

Some impressions.

1. Kickoffs are MUCH improved. No more house rules!

2. The Sliders working helps so much. Now the CPU is much more challenging on All American.

3. THERE IS A PASS RUSH!!! PRAISE THE LORD! THERE IS A PASS RUSH!!! I'm playing Alabama on the road in Tuscaloosa. My highly rated D line is actually getting in the backfield, not getting pancaked every play, and on a play just 5 minutes ago, both of my Defensive Ends blew by the Bama tackles and got to the QB. There are still pancakes, but not NEAR the insane amount as before.

I almost wept with joy. I'll post a vid in a bit showing the improved pass rush. It's absolutely exhilirating.

*note* I have Break block at 100 and CPU pass block at 0. I'm on All American.

4. You can hear opposing stadium sounds and it is SWEET. I'm listening to the Million Dollar Band in Tuscaloosa with Auburn on the road.

I'm such a geek, I'll be setting each playlist before I play because it adds SO much to the game.

Good job EA. This is a DEFINITE improvement, especially on defense. Hopefully these carry over in Human vs Human games as well.

Hey, with your break block at 100 is the CPU able to run the ball?

Nice to hear all these good impressions. I may actually fire up NCAA again!!! AMAZING!!!

I'd like to hear some comments on punt returns, and as much info (vids are welcome) on the pass rush post patch.

Not so fast sweetheart. In your effort to get a good pass rush you have succeeded but our now killing the cpu running game. The cpu running game needs a boost. I suggest putting cpu pass block at 0 and run block at 100 and put your break block closer to the middle to help them out. You may find you need to go lower yet in addition to really boosting the cpu RBA.

Anyone noticed any differences in the way the defenders cover the middle?

Very glad to read the remarks about the game post patch #2. Been following what all have been saying, but even before the patch, though NCAA played leeps and bounds better then Madden and provided better atmosphere. Can't wait to start these up.

Been playing on AA since I got the game, anyone want to post, post patch #2 sliders that they are seeing great gameplay on? Much appreciated.

How do you know?

You don't know what I have the CPU run game set at.

FYI...My CPU Run block is at 100 and CPU RBA is at 60. So it evens out.

Maybe its a coincidence but I saw the CPU throw the ball away on a screen that was covered instead of taking a sack.

C'mon Sony! The PS3 patch better be out by tonight so I can play...or else (I won't be able to play it with patch #2).

This is on All American.

This is what a dominant front four should do. Bring pressure and force the QB to make a mistake.

Check out both of my Defensive Ends not get in that "suction" mode and instead, run full steam for the QB. I wept when I saw this.

The pancakes aren't gone completely, but as you can see...it's much improved.

AA, how do you deal with the CPU horrible play calling on offense and defense. I realize there is nothing at all that we can do about the CPU constantly running QB option with a super slow guy but how do you handle all the CPU DB blitzing that leaves WRs all alone for TDs or massive gains? The CPU runs these constantly and virtually any pass (other then PA) works for huge gains?

This is my #1 issue with this game right now as I don't know how to not score against all these blitzes without limiting my offensive player to B+ (that way close to LB) speeds.
