Stadium sounds work when you play as the away team.

Sliders work which will finally make AA playable because you can beef up the CPU.

The patch does exactly what it said it would do IMO.
That's good to hear.

I just noticed that a thread was just closed regarding "shelving the game until patch 2 is released." I know it's released for the 360 but as far as I know it hasn't been for the PS3. That thread probably shouldn't have been closed since PS3 guys are still waiting. Just a thought.

I know it's a shot in the dark but, has anyone played enough post patch to figure out if the CPU play calling is as bad as it's been?

IMO, this was the BIGGEST problem in the game.

Ive always been of the opinion that AA makes for the most realstic game as opposed to the juiced up nonsense that is heisman.

I wont be able to play until I get home unfrotunately =o(..what are the noticeable differences playing on default sliders? Is it drastic enough to make you say: "Hey with a minor tweak here and there, this sucker can play pretty darn good?"

The big thing for me is that I play a 3-4 defense where I like to bring the heat. Is that possible to do now at all?

If the coverage has improved to the point where the defenders will actually be there on a zone blitz, when a rushed throw is forced..and not just let a reciever waltz through, I'm willing to accept that since I realize the pass rush issues were not addressed at all.

What we should do is require everyone to buy at least 1 share in the company before they can post in the Madden/Head Coach/NCAA forums......

That way when they complain, it can be as a minority owner.

How are people finding AA vs Heisman now? AA just seemed way too easy without any patch adjustments.

Can anyone comment on pash rush on Heisman now?

I did some very quick testing before getting ready for work this morning and I did notice that I could get the QB a little easier. I think the problem that most people on this board may be experiencing is that they dont play to their selected defensive players strengths. For example when you are using a defensive player you really need to look at his PMV(Power Move) and FMV(Finesse Move) rating because that will let you know what his best opportunity of getting of a block attempt will be. I think too many of us just use the RB (Power Move) button because it seems to be a natural reflex with the controller to make the tackle/sack. Use RB if your player has a higher "Power move" rating, use LB if your player has a higher "Finesse Move" rating. Try to time your button press just as you make inital contact, NOT while you are fully engaged and you will see a more improved pass rush to the QB. I dont post too much on this board but when I do, you can take it to the bank!

Also, the comp acc works also just try it. I will say that it is still difficult to get pressure on qb but possibly slightly better, will need more testing. Overall, it's an improvement. These are for certain things I noticed immediately. Also, did anyone else think that the overall speed pace of the game has slowed?
I agree with this and I am the same skill level. With the CPU run ability and run block sliders way up, the CPU definitely is more capable running the ball now. You really need to swarm to the ball now, one guy wasn't doing it for me.

Also, kick coverage is vastly improved.

Also, maybe it was just the two games I played, but the CPU took a few more shots downfield than I'm used to. Before the patch, it MIGHT happen once per game. CPU tried two or three times each game post-patch. Might just be an anomoly, but I can hope.

Stew, if you can post your findings on varsity level.

this with CPU sliders jacked up might give a preety good game, eliminate robo QB and get an actual pass rush.

To me AA is still way too easy...Being a believer that penalty sliders do effect gameplay I'm having a blast on Heisman but the Robo QB does rear its ugly head from time to time

My (very) brief Unscientific impressions:

- Virginia(me) vs. Texas AM
- I played on AA with my personal modified sliders; the only change I did was make QB Accuracy 0/Pass Blocking 0 and I upped RB Ability and Blocking (70 each) for the CPU)
- While the Pass rush is "improved" you are not going to pile up on sacks against the CPU. You're just not - the game is not designed that way. We are going to have to learn to deal with that.
- The Accuracy slider works..CPU overthrew a couple and started off the game missing the first 4 passes.
- The RB ability and blocking slider work. The CPU was legitimately running over me. Nice for a change.
- Special teams definitely improved.

I'm pretty happy so far.

Post what you find on AA and Varsity. I just want to play on a level where i feel challenged agaisnt good teams and kill bad teams. AA right now (pre-patch) was a cakewalk

# 214 ThaPeeplz @ 08/21/08 11:42 AM
Well, the returns now average from the 25 to 35 yard lines, so thats changed. I also noticed a better pass rush from the defensive ends. I had to turn pass block up to 20(was playing with 15). It most def has changed the game up. Pursuit angles are stilll jacked up in certain situations though. Its cool. I was straight before the patch. The difficulty seems to have raised a bit. Overall, it seems to be a good patch.

I know you are a pretty good player but I would suggest starting on AA and really boosting things for the cpu to try to find a challenge for yourself.

ie. drop human def. awareness to 0 but boost cpu awareness to 100
boost cpu run block and RBA to 100 (stuff like that)

I think AA plays a more balanced game without some of the bad things Heisman offers. If you still can't find a challenge then jump to Heisman but I do think people should try to make AA work for them before making that leap.

are pancakes LESS on AA? that is the ONLY reason I can possibly think of looking at AA since heisman is so easy this year. If my DLine falls down LESS then great, if not then why?

Why are you at work? You're supposed to be home testing this game, finding answers not asking questions.

So is there definite confirmation that cpu sliders work now?

# 219 dkrause1971 @ 08/21/08 11:51 AM
I thought i would post my first game post patch for those at work.

S Cal 61 (me), Mich St 29- AA level- adjusted sliders- CPU QB at 40- 8 minutes

Sanchez 17-27-163-1-0
Hoyer 13-29-165-2-5 44%

Johnson 41-200-2- long 13
McKnight 5-70-1 Long 38
Cable had like 5 carries

Ringer 10-116-1 Long 80
Jimmerson 6-75- 1 long 67

Drops
MSU 4
USC 1

Sacks
USC 3
MSU 1

Penalties- using mood sliders
USC 3
MSU 4

Some thoughts- obviously was nice to see Hoyer under 50% at home when he is a pretty good QB. The MSU points were all on big plays. The two runs you see there. Hoyer hit Ringer on a blitz for a long TD and McKnight fumbled a punt return.

The five picks were more than i would have hoped and two i returned for TDs. This is with int at 0 and i think awr was 30. I probably dropped a good 3-4 more.

I am raising the QB Acc to 45 and dropped awr for me now. I really had hoped for more sacks and thought i did have one or two more than the CPU listed but overall the pressure wasn't that good.

Only 5 drops in the game total with catching at zero for both surprised me a tad. As did 7 total penalties using the Mood sliders which are turned down. Most were holding however.

Overall, USC should beat MSU and did. MSU has some big play guys and did that. Would have liked to see more D Line pressure as two of those three sacks where by a safety and LB. One was a stupid QB running out play.

Yes the sliders definitely work and it doesn't take large adjustments to make a huge difference. The only slider that I think does not work is the WR Catch slider I set it to 0 and still dont see many dropped passes...

But I think with this patch we could be close to having a solid game
