My reply is to the previous comments of having someone with football knowledge be there for consulting:

The name of the game is Madden. They used to actually ask Madden what he thought. I contend that those were the years that things kept progressing. I swear, as soon as he was shooed away, you could tell the difference in the kinds of features they would plan on having and thinking they were important. Not to beat the dead, rotting horse, but seriously, do you think Madden would care about twitter implementation or Oline/Dline play instead? With Madden still being consulted, I'm thinking pass trajectories, play action and many kinds of WR catches would have been pointed out to get figured out and in the game a long time ago.

Madden is still consulting on the game. They fly out in to his man cave in early January and discuss what are the trends he is seeing for that year.

A year or two ago, he said bubble screens and Madden needed a game planner. Those things you have seen for the past few years.

He is still consulting and making money on the deal.

The things that need to be asked are not being asked and the things that are being asked are not getting answers. Now can you understand some of the frustration you are witnessing here ?

LBZRule, If the devs can't tell us why then we really are in trouble , LOL.

I think its important for them to clear up things like this so we all understand whats going on in the game and can act accordingly. If no one knows the answers to anything why are they surprised by the constant complaining and strong desire expressed here to have these things fixed/discussed ?
Complaining is NOT useless. The same 10 people complaining about the same 10 things in every thread regardless of topic for months on end IS useless however. No I did not point a finger at anyone, just stating an absolute fact of life. My point being, Madden 13 is set and ready to roll... All the information they are going to release is out or finishing rolling out. If what they changed/fixed/added isn't what you want then focus has to shift on Madden 14. That's it... Arguing about what's not in Madden 13 2 months later is not going to change it... All it will do is cause resentment towards each other.

About 2 years ago, 1 guy showed up down here ( name withheld ) with an entire notebook filled with excellent ideas, charts, diagrams, plays....darn near everything you could imagine to help improve the game. Do you think one idea made it? No.

These games are mapped out on a 3yr and 5 year cycle, no amount of input is going to change what you get. Its simply a show and tell to get people to keep the masses at ease during the turbulent quarters on upcoming release.

Ask yourself this....this past year....did the "Gamechangers" make one difference in anything you saw on NCAA? I remember them coming here talking about how impressed we would be...same as they did the year before....and the year before that....and the year before.....

Game Changers, Advisory Counsel, Community days is nothing more than marketing at its finest and it works very well. Bring some people down, pick em up from the airport in a limo...take them to their hotel on I-Drive one year, over near Kirkman the other...hang out, play some head to head, get maybe 2 hours total solo play....everyone gets in a group and discusses the good / bad....producer / underling takes notes. Peanut gallery comes back to the forums talking bout the wonderful experience and how things are going to change and we should expect greatness....

THen the game is released. Numerous problems still exsist, many new ones added....

People coming to Orlando is not going to help the project at all. Any and all information they could ever want / need / digest is posted in any one of many different forums to view from the comfort of their cubicles.

Just like another "GC" that came to community last year....HUGE recruiting guy....didnt care about anything other than recruiting, and thats fine. He was so convinced that he had recruiting figured out, only to be finally told that most of the stats he was so convinced worked, were nothing more than empty numbers in a spreadsheet and had zero value ( will not list his name since he posts here and knows who he is ).

Its all about being a "rockstar" when you show up down here, its that simple. Same way we are sometimes star struck when Chad Johnson, Shaq, or any other numerous stars show up sometimes with the kids. Heck, everyone liked Chad so much that one year his speed rating got bumped up a few notches just cuz he said he was soo slow in game...and proceeded to challenge anyone to a race in the parking lot lol.
I would have to say you are pretty far off base.... As in 100% lol. If you would like me to point out the many flaws of that post I will gladly.

yes he would prolly want ol/dl play fixed first but that doesn't have anything to do with twitter getting in and ol/dl not getting fixed. those are completely different areas of the game and are worked on by different people. the twitter feeds didn't stop any of the features that you or others are complaining about. the writing for the feeds is all done by one guy and it prolly didn't take long to get the code for it working, since its mostly text and graphics placement.

now infinity or ol/dl would be something you could since they are in the same area and will prolly have the same people working on them. but judging by what is going on here madden is using the same model that fifa and NHl have used to get quasi-physics in their games. start with intense contact like tackling and then integrate lesser contact like jostling and blocking and finally add more realistic player movement. i believe that this was the path that both fifa and nhl took to adding their physics engines and from what we have seen and heard from the devs and the GCs that madden is on a similar path.

This brings up an interesting question in my mind. I am aware that they consult John Madden but as I posted in that thread about them going to his "man cave", I don't remember there being a game of Madden playing on any of those multiple tv screens. Part of me hoped that Cam Newton would have won the cover vote because he seems to at least actually play the game, going by his Youtube video. I understand that John Madden likely doesn't play video games but I wonder how much he actually even sees of the finished game.

There has got to be some grandson, granddaughter, nephew, niece or somebody that plays Madden within that John Madden lineage, that can get at him about what EA/Tiburon has been doing to his beloved sport, lol.

If those players aren't great at programming OL/DL line play I'll expect pretty much the same fatally flawed game, with the addition of some nice new physics in the tackling.

I'll be happy if it's the first good Madden on next gen, that's all I want, a GOOD game, I gave up on great a few years ago.

I was just thinking...if it was Al Davis Football, they'd have been pestered, prodded and cursed out until it was done his way or else. It's funny, but then again, think of how different it may all be.
