EA can bring in all the former NCAA/NFL players they want.If the coders can not apply what the players say into the game, the former players are rendered useless once the game goes gold.

P.S

Only former player who actually had any impact on the game was Freddie Mitchell who did the Mocap for Touch Down dances in Madden 09 lol.

True but I don't think it ever went that far in the past..I.E..A real go at realistic systems for the core areas of Football.....

Hopefully thats changing and Infinity is a sign

Let us be honest with ourselves. What makes you think someone like LBZ can make any difference in a product from a techincal analysis point of view if they cant even get simple concepts down right.

About 2 years ago, 1 guy showed up down here ( name withheld ) with an entire notebook filled with excellent ideas, charts, diagrams, plays....darn near everything you could imagine to help improve the game. Do you think one idea made it? No.

These games are mapped out on a 3yr and 5 year cycle, no amount of input is going to change what you get. Its simply a show and tell to get people to keep the masses at ease during the turbulent quarters on upcoming release.

Ask yourself this....this past year....did the "Gamechangers" make one difference in anything you saw on NCAA? I remember them coming here talking about how impressed we would be...same as they did the year before....and the year before that....and the year before.....

Game Changers, Advisory Counsel, Community days is nothing more than marketing at its finest and it works very well. Bring some people down, pick em up from the airport in a limo...take them to their hotel on I-Drive one year, over near Kirkman the other...hang out, play some head to head, get maybe 2 hours total solo play....everyone gets in a group and discusses the good / bad....producer / underling takes notes. Peanut gallery comes back to the forums talking bout the wonderful experience and how things are going to change and we should expect greatness....

THen the game is released. Numerous problems still exsist, many new ones added....

People coming to Orlando is not going to help the project at all. Any and all information they could ever want / need / digest is posted in any one of many different forums to view from the comfort of their cubicles.

Just like another "GC" that came to community last year....HUGE recruiting guy....didnt care about anything other than recruiting, and thats fine. He was so convinced that he had recruiting figured out, only to be finally told that most of the stats he was so convinced worked, were nothing more than empty numbers in a spreadsheet and had zero value ( will not list his name since he posts here and knows who he is ).

Its all about being a "rockstar" when you show up down here, its that simple. Same way we are sometimes star struck when Chad Johnson, Shaq, or any other numerous stars show up sometimes with the kids. Heck, everyone liked Chad so much that one year his speed rating got bumped up a few notches just cuz he said he was soo slow in game...and proceeded to challenge anyone to a race in the parking lot lol.

Well, here's how I see it: there are now at least two former QBs involved in the Madden process: Larry Richart and Cam Weber (pretty sure he was a QB but I digress). If we look at NCAA 13, while people love it or hate it, almost everyone is complimentary to what has taken place in the passing game. I don't think of it to be some mere coincidence.

So while you may feel it's rendered useless, I feel having former players on the staff is already bearing fruit. If Clint has the same impact on the OL as the former QBs have seemed to have on the passing game, then I think that's something to look forward to.

I think you would have Shaun Mason come in here and tell us his impact had some changes on NCAA this year, in fact, he said so a few pages back.

I'm not convinced the GC program will have a positive, 0 or negative impact at this stage, but I'm willing to see if it works down the road.

Even LBz said earlier today some of his suggestions from three or 4 years ago made into Madden 12, so, there must be some kind of impact, don't you agree?

Warning: I'm gonna go away from the original intent of this thread to ask an honest question(s)
When was the last time anyone here had a viewing or hands on with Madden NFL 13?
Are the changes to the GAMEPLAY in Madden 13 enough to warrant a purchase or should I just wait until the 2014 iteration that will undoubtedly enhance the "Infinity Engine" and reveal itself as a true REAL TIME PHYSICS engine??
Asking for an honest opinion of those who have played the game.

Big you almost made me choke here. That last line made me laugh

I honestly feel like some of these things will never be "right" or even in the game, because the people making the game and contributing to the game, don't know enough about the fundamentals of the game, let alone the techniques for each position on the field, like they are in say FIFA.
There are times I feel this way, but there are times when I feel its the foundation they use for Madden to be the ultimate issue. LBz knows his stuff, but trust me they have had people in there that knew as much or more, and still could not get it right.

I really feel there hands are tied with the engine they use for Madden, and would never admit it. We are honestly much better off waiting to see what happens in next gen.

I asked Ian this very question. Would it have been beter to carry last gen Madden over to next gen at the time, and then bring the new engine once everything was figured out, and he said yes. They rushed it.

To me that was all I needed to hear or read to be convinced this engine is not good to replicate the game of football.

Ian knew what the game needed, and man he wanted to really deliver, but this engine set him up to fail. Give him a better set of engines to work with and we get the game we want.

I went at it with Ian, but I saw he really wanted to succeed, and would have with the right tools.
