One interesting thing about runners advancing on pitches in the dirt which still is an issue offline - a couple years ago by (un)popular demand they introduced chased pitches which has caused several swinging third strikes each game on pitches in the dirt in manage mode. I've never seen a runner be safe at first when this happens. Apparently there is an animation for this specific instance which guarantees the catcher picks up the ball and throws out the batter at first.
It makes me wonder how a glitch which didn't previously exist - runners advancing on pitches in the dirt - worked its way into the game.

It doesn't change the quality of the hit(s), just the sound, correct?
I am in the minority in that I've not noticed any difference.

The velocity of the ball off the bat has been nerfed big time with the patch. Line drive hits right back up the middle are slow and the 2b or ss easily gets tp it and at least knocks the ball down.
Turning up solid hits may help some but not completely. I understand they did this to tune down homeruns and opposite field homeruns but the consequence I'm seeing is it is taking away what used to be base hits.
I have fielder reaction set at 2 already and loved finally seeing those "seeing-eye" singles through the infield pre-patch. Lowering ball velocity off the bat on line drive hits or solid contact has taken this away.
I will lower this to one the next few games and see how it goes in my franchise!

This sequence, I found it to be a reasonable manager hook (Quick Count Mode) made it the 5th with 72 pitches.

I don't speak for everybody, but I don't recall anyone complaining about the speed was travelling off the bat, only that too often the ball was hit far too far. I feel they should have been able to fix that without affecting regular hits. It all feels pretty weedy now, with weak dribblers being the norm. Could they not have just changed the maximum velocity the ball could be hit at and the frequency in which that happened, without changing the regular velocity of the bat? As it felt a hell of a lot better before imo.
Played my first QC game in franchise They pulled their starter after 5 1/3 while leading 1-0. As soon as i got hit a hit they pulled him. 68 pitches.
I tried having stamina at 10 and hook at 1 when this happened.
Only a couple games but as far as ball off bat speed I haven't seen an issue but will monitor it as only a couple games.
Also bat sounds seem ok to me but I'm old and stuff. Lol

I really think we can stop talking about the ball off the bat sound being that they are going to fix it and acknowledged that it was a bug. No need to get anyone hot in here over something that is being fixed on the next update.
If it does not bother you that's fine but it's changing back to the way it sounded out of the box.
And Skyboxer I might give you a run for your money as far as being an old fart around these parts! LOL

The wind being the biggest factor as I noticed 10mph wind in game moving the ball as if it were 20-25mph winds. Lowering wind slider has greatly reduced homeruns and possibly homerun distances to a lesser extent.
They need to revert the ball velocity off the bat back to what it was before, fix bat sounds back as well. I've never seen a patch from SDS cause other major issues in game before so giving them the benefit of the doubt but cmon...those two things were fine pre patch and now they are a huge game flaw now.

I'll play some games tonight so I get a feel for it in actual game situations, but I can still hit the same 118-119 MPH 500 ft bombs with Giancarlo in practice that I could pre-patch. So I'm not as sold on the overall hitting physics being changed as you guys are. I feel like that's really hard to determine in 2 days since the release no matter how much you play with how much variance there is in this game (as in real baseball).

I think I'm in the minority that likes the new hitting better. You really got to square it up now to do damage.

RTTS, when I'm a batter on a hitting streak please don't put me in to pinch hit! Full games only! Driving ving me crazy!
For those that mentioned that the mention of wrong art assets and colors in stadiums is being picky and frivolous I have one thing to say
they can fix it and fix it quickly

OK.. Next game vs Orioles... they loaded up bullpen in the 3rd inning after only 30 pitches in a 1-0 game. Pulled pitcher at 34 pitches.
So for now it's no QC for me until a fix in released.
And after getting a refresher on bat sounds pre patch.. yep. It's been "dulled" and all the same... best way i can describe it. Broken bat soind seems same though. Damn near jumped it was so more crackly loud. lol
Having a blast still but the QC issue frustrates me. Oh well. They'll fix it in due time.

Well I just played 4 games. Two with QC and two without QC. The QC is still broken. SP was taken out both times before the 6th. Each pitcher gave up 1 run and had a pitch clunt below 70. However, when I played with QC turned off, the game played as normal. Game 1 I played the A's and Manaea threw 8 innings, gave up 2 runs on 4 hits, 1 walk. His pitch count was at 97 and his stamina was pretty low so it was very realistic. Their closer comes in and promptly gets a 1, 2, 3 inning.
So good news is that the game isn't totally busted. Bad news is the only way to avoid the SP glitch is to turn QC off which is a bummer.

I'm using directional and is been fine for me.. Just finished 3rd game. Plenty of power etc... I honestly see no issues.

I played three games post patch yesterday, and did not see this to be an issue at all.
I have sold hits at 4 for each side (HUM v CPU) and saw plenty of absolute lasers, including two jacks by Moreland that went 938 feet collectively.
I would have complained about the 468-470 footers, had they not come on Power swings, and dead red 3-1 fastballs that I influenced. I can live with the pull-back cam blasts from time to time it they make sense.
Otherwise, HanRam just about put a hole in the Monster with a screaming liner, and I saw plenty of shots that did not feel faked, or feel nerfed.
Just my 2 cents so far, but in my three games, I did not feel cheated.
