They do? What is that?

When real life skips throwing a ball back to the pitcher, I'll be like:

To get those game times under 150 minutes, they could have something built into the ground behind the mound that shoots a new ball up with air-pressure and the pitcher catches.

They already want to skip the Pitcher throwing the ball to the Catcher. How far away is the opposite? LOL

I hope they don't follow down the same path as NASCAR. It has changed so much that I don't even watch it anymore.

I noticed Harold Reynolds baserunning aggression was 99. Gonna have to bump that down somewhat. Just a very minor thing, though.

I'd settle for "Big Mac Land" having its own section. Hasn't been in any rendition of the game.

Then I'd rather watch bowling..

They're doing what they can with what they have and the people that are there.

That's all I ask, and thank you very much. This game has actively gotten massively better (literally night and day) between MLB 15 and MLB 17. I don't get why they are so honor-bound by the style guide being wrong, but it's been explained multiple times that the style guide is the law. Whatever the jerseys look like in the 'real world' means absolutely nothing to the work of SSDS. The style guide is what matters. You've got to get your head in that space. It took me awhile too.

But they are trying, and that's what I ask.

It's literally -- a whole new ballgame.
The colors bug me too, believe me. I actually have OCD. I've restarted files because the slightest thing was off and it kept bugging me that it was too late to change it back.

However, I also keep things in perspective.

I'd rather have an amazing game with slightly-off coloring and number placement than a glitchy mess with perfect colors and numbers.

All things considered, yeah, I'll take the good GAME any day.

Fast Play for those that like to get through games quickly. Hybrid for those that like a brisk game with some presentation elements showing. And Broadcast, which we all hoped would be full blown presentation just like a real TV broadcast. The problem is Broadcast is pretty much (exactly?) like Hybrid.

Those of us who bring up certain persistent errors are not unhappy with the game, we're trying to help improve it because it's been proven that the devs take our feedback into account. We love the game as much as those of you who don't care about the mistakes do.

This doesn't exist anymore? I usually play in hybrid but I thought the real time presentation thing was still an option?

MLB 11 was the last one that had the Real Time presentation I believe.

I thought it was all real-time now.

I'm not talking about things they skip or don't skip, I'm talking about no more pre-canned cutscene shots and animations.

However, I can't say for certain about things skipping around or not. I for sure know MLB 13: The Show had it because somebody had just asked me about my video on The Show with 2K commentary and I had to rewatch it to answer something, and between pitches took forever lol. I think I was on the "Slow" pacing option (I think that was actually the name).

I understand why they did it, I just preferred having the option to do so and if I wanted it to mirror a real life broadcast, I could. Felt more like the real thing.

Agreed.

So many things are done in this game to create a real sense of immersion, but when the between-pitches sequences are skipped, that really breaks the immersion for me. I understand that they wanted to speed the game up, but I wish they would have left it in and turned it off by default then.

For example -- presentation & commentary -- is not a really big deal to me. It's not. But to some, it's life and death to the game. For me, alternates/throwback jerseys and classic stadiums are top priority. To others, it's not.

Prime example -- I LOVED the 'mistake' Colorado Rockies road alternate from the late 2000s still in the game, with purple sleeves and the purple hat (my favorite Rox hat). I used it exclusively for road jerseys, and used the solid black throwback strictly at home. I liked it that way.

It was almost universally hated. Now it's gone, and probably forever. But to most that's a great thing. I'm gonna miss it.

That's the kind of stuff I think some people need to keep in mind. Sometimes a mistake, makes something better for some. Just because it's not screen accurate to real life, doesn't make it not have value in a game.

Sometimes in a game, we get to live in an alternate world where the Marlins have orange home hats and the Astros go all orange, unlike in real life. And some of us like using The Show as a way to live those fantasies. It's not always about being precisely correct.

Yes the colors are off... but i'm just happy BOTH the Nats home white alternate AND navy alternate AND red alternate are ALL in the game. I'm happy the Blue Jays red alternate is IN the game. Not out. That's what's important.

I'm happy The Show (which they've gotten virtually no real credit on this), have been asked FOR YEARS to incorporate REAL LIFE broadcasts in the game. They brought in MLB Network, and did a great job with it.

They are literally doing what we're asking them to do. It's like having a kid in college, they get their Associates Degree, then their Bachelors, now they're trying at Grad school... but we're still dogging them they're not a Doctor yet.

Give it time. Breathe. They are listening. I will always support -- EFFORT.

*mic drop* lol

Agree 1000%. Would love to have the option to watch the catcher throw the ball back to the pitcher every time. If someone wants to speed the game up, isn't there FAST PLAY already?

This is is how I want the Commentary to sound in MLB The Show!!!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NDFY8ZZtKzM

Why can't they get this done??????

Yes I know it's not perfect but it sounds so much more like a real life broadcast compared to MLB The Show 17! These 3 guys really sound like they are in the same booth together at all times. And unlike MLB The Show 17 these guys are having conversations with each other though out the whole game.

Makes me so sad because MLB The Show is such a fantastic baseball game but the one thing they just can not get right is the Commentary. 2k Commentary has improved even more now with NBA 2K.

I would love to know what the MLB The Show developers think of 2K's Commentary and if there goal is to not only get MLB The Show Commentary on the same level but surpass it.

They are so fluid when they talk it's incredible.

Although I would hate having to always here about Shin shoo choo being the man from South Korea.

That's one of the biggest issues if not the biggest with MLB The Show 17 and all earlier versions it does not sound fluid enough! Like I already said MLB 2K's Commentary is definitely not perfect but remember it's also now a 3 or 4 year old game.

I am sure if MLB 2K17 was being released the Commentary would be mind blowing at this point.

Also I love that you here a woman from a studio talking about the match up before you enter the game. Now that they have MLB Network something like that should also be in MLB The Show!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zIGFOO4ijZs

Or if you go back to MLB 2K7 you even see outside shots of the stadium and fans walking around stadium Concourse. Hard to believe this was done 10 years ago and MLB The Show still has nothing like it
