I can only guess what kind of a circus RTTS will look like this year.
Say What!? Didn't see that part of the stream, what did they say about meter throwing?

Nothing. He's just assuming it. We don't know whether the slow-mo can be turned off from this stream. Personally I think it might be a presentation option that we'll find out more about when they do the presentation stream in early March.

The only thing they said regarding the meter is that it's tied to the "Button Accuracy" throwing interface that already exists.

All in all, a good stream. Not the best ever, but solid.

I feel the VLOG was a bit more informative, but seeing Kipnis knock curving line drives all over the field got me very excited about the new ball physics. If we saw that many hits in a 10 minute section, imagine what you'd see with different hitters, pitchers, pitches, stadiums and environment (altitude and temperature).

The Human IK is tough to do on the fly. Having to program balls off the wall, cat-and-mouse is an all game battle and whatever else is included in this.

Graphics looked a little off but this is not the final build and it's being streamed off a computer. Have to hold back judgement until you see final builds.

The Catcher's throw meter is alright, don't love it or hate it, but I do not like the slow-motion effect at all. It takes a lot away from the bang-bang nature of stolen bases.

Hope Ramone is there next week, and every week from now on. Bit of a mess today.

Best fielding cam this game has ever had is in Retro Mode, especially since it's for both offense and defense. Not quite a broadcast camera, but in my opinion it's significantly more representative of one than the one they currently have. I wonder if it's usable outside of that mode.

EDIT: Aaaand Russell comes through!!!

That would be sweet.

Different year same OS :-) lol
  • Retro mode camera is available in the regular game
  • Catcher throw meter is still being tuned not finished by any means. Streaming a game that's not done knock knock.
  • We are in crunch, it's not easy to pull people away from their day-to-day to do these streams
  • Bunting, we didn't realize until after the stream, but we had fastballs down the middle on. So yeah bunting is way easier with every fastball down the middle. Anyway it's been worked on a lot you'll see more Wednesday. And that's the beauty of streaming an unfinished game, we worked on it a lot then streamed and found something else to tune which you'll see on Wednesday.
  • Graphics, WIP same as every year look at the first stream or vlog from any year then reference it with the last one.
  • Graphics............13th.............:-)

Looking forward to the runback (although I won't be able to catch that one live).

Yeah the slight tail on those Kipnis line drives were one of my favorite things to see in the stream. Definitely should bring a lot of variety of hits for sure.

And not sure if anybody caught it (tnixen [emoji12]), but looks like they took the "Show 17" logo off the scorebug after the suggestion was brought up in the forums after the vlog. Definitely like it without the logo. Thanks for passing on the suggestion, AdamSDS!

Lower Fielder Run Speed. I've been utilizing this in my sliders the past couple of years and it'll help a lot.

Loved seeing this also. Been hoping for newer animations/presentations during walkups, in the box, hr and run scoring celebrations. Always pumped to see the new and reworked stances/deliveries and animations.

I see when they played CPU vs CPU the baserunner window was still present. I miss the days when I could put on a CPU vs CPU and see nothing but the scorebug (very TV broadcast like)...I was hoping for the possibility to turn off every icon, notification, etc. and only have the scorebug during gameplay (me vs CPU offline), but seeing it still on CPU vs CPU gives me little hope...but it's still early. Nice animations for sure though.

I've been hoping for this for years (and position players pitching). Crossing fingers!

I can't remember the first year was when we could turn everything off (I think MLB 15?), but I've been able to disable baserunner windows every year since getting these games back in '09. Don't see why it won't change now.

Speaking of which, the baserunner window is a perfect example of this game being WIP. They obviously (or likely) won't look the way they do right now when the game releases.

Anyone know what the Nike batting gloves that Kipnis (and a lot of other players) is wearing are called?

Nike Swingman Pro (Vapor Elites)

From an equipment perspective, I'm 95% sure Zobrist was swinging a Trinity Bat Co. bat, and it looks like Rizzo had that multi-color "lizard skin" bat tape that a ton of players use now. Those are two nice and unexpected additions, if so.

Zobrist indeed did have a Trinity Bat in the stream.

It's really interesting to see all of the debug options they had at their disposal to test scenarios. I noticed some funny stuff in there, CHEATS, hit types, scenarios, pitchers throwing all strikes, ball, always put ball in play, etc.

All in all it was a pretty informative stream and I especially liked when Gill and Jeff came on and gave some more detailed breakdowns. Looking forward to next Wednesday.

If not please allow us to use it!
