Interesting nugget: @ about 28:30, he has the widgets up, and the very last widget on the screen says: "Air Density (1.0=Sea Level 70Deg)"

Maybe more improved park factors at work?

They really need to rehearse and stay focus on the information and examples. Todays stream made me not anticipate the next stream.
Ramone not being there didn't help. He seems to keep the guys on track and goes over each bullet point they should. If he's there for the next stream it should go much smoother.

Yeah it was mentioned in the trailer that temperature amongst other things will affect ball flight.

I was also expecting/hoping for a lot more out of this stream. Hopefully they'll figure out a way to get it together for the rest of them.

The ball physics, catch and throw animations will definitely give the game a fresh feel, I am really excited for that!

After watching the bunt portion of the stream I am not convinced that is fixed. The success ratios may have changed but the execution is still too perfect down the line. On a successful bunt the ball is still traveling down the line like it is on rails when close to the foul line. Not seeing any tracking towards fair or foul territory. I was hoping the improved physics would address that, but on bunts it gives the appearance that it is on its own system which I am sure it is not. Hopefully it can be fine tuned further. All in all looking good!

I don't know if anyone else caught it, but there was a moment towards the beginning, when they were showing off the new ball physics, where you see a little bug pop up that says something along the lines of: Arrietta vs. Kipnis 2-24 (.167) Hopefully, this is part of the new career stats presentation!

I don't remember the players they used to bunt, but there can't be that many players in the league that can lay down perfect drag bunt. I do like that there were more misses, but maybe it's still too easy.

Yeah but it did appear that they had it on beginner difficulty so hopefully that had something to do with it.

Does anyone know where I can watch the replay? I missed the first 30 minutes or so of the stream.

Pretty disheartening to see the slo-mo Bullet Time creeping into the other options and modes. Seems if you use meter throwing you are stuck with it.

I can only guess what kind of a circus RTTS will look like this year.

The ratings probably have not been done at all and we know there not final at this point, but maybe they should adjust the bunting attributes even more now from when they changed them from 15 to 16.

On MLB THE SHOW 16 the basic bunting attributes was around 25/27 and the good bunters were rated with Billy Hamilton at 99/99 for bunting also Leonys Martin had 99/99 with Aoki 59/59.

Maybe it is something the SCEA ratings personnel (Luis) can adjust to a players real life skill for bunting within the last 3 years.

i wonder if there is colorblind support for the catchers throwing meter

Regarding the graphics, for context, PBR wasn't even fully shown last year until the last streams. Ramone teased it in March if I recall correctly.

They mentioned they were playing on a regular PS4 and that the Pro version would be better.

You're kidding about player models in Madden and NBA 2K being better, right? Madden's are not that good and 2k's had skinny armed alien arm looking bodies.

The bunting made it seem like the new physics engine isn't even tied to bunting. Which would be really disappointing.

I just don't understand what people are waiting for. Some kind of massive overhaul of the whole thing? A new game? 2k back? EA back? Even if EA revived MVP, me thinks they'd rip 70% of the entire platform off from The Show, just to barely compete with them.

I'm beyond graphics at this point. Fine TUNING the graphics is what's important to me. Sharpness, clarity, 60 FPS... that's important.

Expanded uniform slots, getting uniforms right, classic stadiums...

The little things

All of those things before a massive graphical overhaul. I'd rather get 19/20 things right, than 7/20 things right, because we had to throw our best feature out the window, to re-invent the wheel.

Why?

Just 'cause. No other reason.

That doesn't make ANY sense to me.

70%?? Just making a baseball game would be 70% of the shows platform.

I get what you saying, but to some they are happy with the game play as is and what to see a graphical jump. I don't see the harm in that, it goes both ways. In a perfect world we would have both (gameplay and graphics).

I'm right down the middle on this, both can have the same initial effect ( making the game look like real life baseball). One the gameplay and animations can greatly improve the look, if the players are making catches and throws, dives, hits, runs, etc etc, that you see in real life, it will look and feel more real (already the animations alone for years have fooled some into thinking they are watching a real game, and thats really cool).

Now of course a graphics boost would definitely make it look more real but not feel more real if they didn't have good animations and gameplay. However, from a pure visual stand point of a side to side picture of the show and real life, theres still a significant seperation there. Just getting that seperation closer can greatly improve the overall look and appeal of the game.

In all fairness, on the PS3 this franchise was easily the best looking sports game, but on the PS4 it's a completely different story. I for one have been hoping they would eventually improve the graphics being that its been on the PS4 for 3 years now and being a console exclusive. I hope the pro version does bring something better to the table as far as graphics. The first thing I noticed when I saw the first video is how the graphics don't look improved at all. I know gameplay is the most important but graphics is also important.

Which is what the said when jumping from PS3 to PS4 and even then it still seemed there wasn't that much of a jump.

Personally when I'm referring to "graphics" I'm talking about player models specifically. THAT can certainly improve no matter what anyone here says. The Show has literally 3 body types and everyone has the same baggy jersey.

Considering that we are three years into Diamond Dynasty being in the game, I don't think you have to worry about it taking over. SCEA is trying to reach out to new markets; the core game is still represented well
