NBA 2K17 patch 1.05 is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Check out the patch notes below.

GENERAL
  • HDR support has been added for the PS4.
  • Support for the PS4 Pro has been added. NBA 2K17 will run at a native 4K resolution at 60 FPS on the Pro.
  • The Cleveland Cavaliers court floor has been updated to match their new 2016-17 design.
  • The Golden State Warriors uniforms now have the #42 patch in honor of the late Nate Thurmond.
  • Authenticity improvements to a large number of uniforms.
  • You can now use post-release uniforms in Play Now games when using a custom roster.
  • Post-release shoes will now dynamically appear in your game mode saves when starting a new mode or when using a custom roster created after October 15th.
  • Users now have the ability to toggle off the ‘Zoom in Paint’ camera option when using the default broadcast camera.
  • Fixed an issue where the user was unable to unequip certain animation types from their MyPLAYER.
  • The user can now unequip socks from their MyPLAYER.
  • Addressed an issue where controller settings would reset after played games online.
GAMEPLAY
  • Users will no longer be able to prolong MyTEAM Blacktop games by committing reach-in fouls.
  • The Jamal Crawford double behind-the-back combo size-up move now functions properly when equipped.
  • Aiming should now be much easier in the broadcast camera for users who use Pro Stick shot aiming.
  • Disabled shot timing for all shots (including layups, hooks, floaters and heaves) when Shooting Type is set to Real Player %.
  • Improvements to make catching short passes more reliable.
  • Dial back pass speeds (especially on longer passes) to achieve better game balance.
  • “Soften” top front rim ball bounces for more realistic physics-based outcomes.
  • Reduced the frequency of “ticky tack” shooting fouls on jump shots and layups.
  • Fixed illegal screens, which were not being triggered in the proper situations.
  • General improvements to responsiveness, primarily in offball motion.
  • Improvements to the CPU’s double team logic and general defensive AI decision making.
  • Addressed a visual issue that would sometimes cause hook shots to branch into jumpshot follow through landing poses.
MyPARK/2K PRO-AM
  • Teams in Rivet City are again able to grab a Got Next spot while a game is in progress.
  • Fixed a hang that occurred to some users when they were hopping from one MyPARK to another.
  • Fixed a number of camera-related issues when shooting free throws during Pro-Am games.
  • Addressed an issue where some users were unable to use their custom jumpshot in MyPARK.
  • When editing your Pro-Am court, the backboard logo and wall texture can now be switched back to none/blank.
  • You can now view the team rosters of each team directly from the Power Rankings menu in Pro-Am.
  • All of your teammates will now have a unique color indicator when playing Pro-Am.
  • Grand Badges will now appear on the 2K Card in both MyPARK and Pro-Am.
MyCAREER/MyCOURT
  • You can now skip through story scenes that you have already watched.
  • Fixed an issue that would result in the user being unable to play their next game in MyCAREER (a restart is required if you are affected by this).
  • Fixed a case where some users were not seeing triggered story scenes.
  • Fixed an issue where some MyCAREER sponsor contracts were not rewarding the user with the correct amount of VC.
  • Corrected an issue where you could not purchase/equip shoes from your new company when switching shoe endorsements.
  • Addressed an issue where the phone in MyCAREER would inform the user of a new message when that was not the case.
  • Fixed a case where the player would get stuck in the line during the Free Throw Golf drill in Live Practice when using specific signature animations.
MyGM/MyLEAGUE
  • Points of Emphasis have returned to the Gameplan feature! Note that these only affect simulation results.
  • The Advanced Rotations feature will now scale all rotations to work regardless of your chosen quarter length.
  • Fixed cases where some approved city names (e.g. Buffalo) were not being permitted through the content filter when moving your team to another city.
  • Fixed an issue where player attributes were being slightly modified when loading a draft class after the first season.
  • Injuries will now occur during head-to-head gameplay in MyLEAGUE Online.
  • Color improvements have been made to the Kansas City Knights uniform.
  • Fixed a hang that would occur when attempting to use SimCast on the Rising Stars game.
  • Expansion teams will no longer get unlimited funds in MyGM.
  • The NBA logo is now located in the correct spot on the shorts when creating a custom uniform.
  • Many other small bug fixes and adjustments were also made, game-wide.
NOTE: All patch fixes will work in your existing game mode saves unless noted otherwise.

yeah someone just got called for a moving screen on mine, he started sounding off in game chat but i couldn't hear him cause i was in a party. I ran into him and i was like "What? That was a foul?"

From your PS4 dashboard, press 'options' on 2K17, go to information, and if it says Version 1.05...you're good.

5-6 games since the patch & the passing is still really bad. We need a dedicated button combination to decide if we want lobs or bullets (like Madden) because I'm tired of losing out on open threes when my player decides the best way to hit a man by himself in the corner is with a 0.5 mile an hour lob pass. It also sucks to have that same guy cut back door and I can't hit him for the easy layup because my player decides the best way to get the ball there is attempting to throw a 98 mph chest pass through somebody's face, even though a lob would work perfectly.

Better pass type logic, or give us the ability to decide ourselves.

Passing doesn't appear to be fixed at all. The double team logic is still a mess. I had six points in the first period and instead of double teams I got triple teams as soon as I made any move. Transition offense seems better but still not right. Transition defense is as hosed as ever—three guys under the rim and three perimeter shooters left open for threes.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to direct this question, and if not please tell me where i should submit it, but I'm not at home right now and have not downloaded the new patch, but do the 76ers have the updated shade of blue on their court? I know that sometimes patches can add little details such as this and I am curious to know. Thank you to all who respond!

thanks for adding illegal screens . Pretty sure relentless finisher fixed too, had some contact up'n'under layups green released which were auto brick before.

You definitely have the option to choose your pass. There are a least 4 different ways to pass the ball.

Using PS4 controls.

Tri - Lob

Tri x 2 - alley oop (great for pnr where the hedger follows the ball handler and not the roll man)

X - best available pass as chossn by the game

O - bounce pass (great for pnr with a soft hedger because you can literally split the defenders with a pass)

O x 2 - Flashy passes but turn into Bullet passes during PNR situations which makes getting the ball out fast possible

Then there is the right stick passing which I don't typically use.

What ppl see the first time may very well be legit, but why not get confirmation?
I'll be honest, 2K has some issues that bug the crap out of me me but some of the complaints I read make me think "Yeah, you're not very good at the game" Mostly when people complain about things as the other team scoring or shots missing. Both of those things happen all the time, -I just rewatched DLO hit a three in Klay and them Curry's face while Curry went 0 - 10 from the three.

I personally would have thrown a fit if it happened in game. Those are things I hate reading complaints about. I mean, yeah, there are issues with guys sometimes playing above their ratings (I know the issue is different for online players where guys can stroke it with really poor ratings) but at times I think, "Some of these guys probably hold turbo and think, 'I should make every shot and the other team should miss everybshot I defend.'"

It's cynical but I can't help it.

one thing i'd like to see at least edited for sure is the shooting fouls in park, i could get clobbered on my slasher and get a no call, but i gently touch someones back and i get whistled trying to block a dunk

also some of the blocks are weird, like they barely touch the ball and it goes halfway across the court, if it's a clean block sure, but it shouldn't be a block because of clipping, or them swatting the air just behind the ball

I played one game on HOF default [ Jazz vs Knicks ] and the gameplay felt great, not too slow where player animations felt heavy/sluggish and not too fast where sliding and warping was happening often. I was able to get some fast breaks and actually finish instead of being bumped, the Jazz were running plays quicker, and I barely noticed any weird transition 3's unless it was one or two passes into an open look. Overall I like the gameplay so far and I hope nothing changes drastically again

maybe there's hope

noticing better balanced play.
there are still a few moving screens here and there.
there are also some passes that are extremely quick, looks cartoon/unreal like.
with that said. defensive rotations and help does not work without adjusting your defensive settings. Id say adjust any defensive setting that says auto. the auto feature, IMO is either fudged or an intentional game-play decision which forces the user to make those adjustments.

next adjustment I started doing prior to gameplay is adjusting the run plays for my cpu opponents. Ive been setting the run plays for the ai controlled teams to 90 or above (still testing). a few years back in a 2k version the coaching run plays sliders weren't properly tuned, and I suspect the same thing with this years version.
end result is more plays are run by the ai controlled teams. without this the gameplay becomes all run and gun, with no time to ever set your defense.

so far so good with this patch.

for me this patch needed to fix two things and not break anything else:

1. screens. Got tired of my guy getting caught and dragged halfway across the court.

2. bigs being clueless on defense, picking up ballhandlers at halfcourt, wandering under the basket only to try vainly to scramble back to stop a laypu for the other team's big.

If the patch fixes those two things, anything else I can work with (as a offline, 30 team control my league guy, I can work around bad trade/FA logic, bad contracts, etc.)

Hey, does adjusting run plays for AI controlled teams really slow the game down?

I haven't tried that.

I actually like what I'm hearing about getting blown by. That video that was posted where Jeremy Lin was slamming into Kyrie and the uploader called it "good defense" irked me. Blowbys happen A LOT in the NBA and is why help defense and rotations are so important.
