I know Dave, it's really unfortunate just how shallow the offline is. I've played its a dozen times or so but after couple fights it gets boring and I'm switching games.

Enjoying my 5 hours free trial of the full game. Find the controls to be complicated and numerous, like the previous UFC game. So many combos to remember. Not sure if I will purchase after my 5 hours, but it's fun to have the trial.

Finished the free trial and it was fun but got old fast. There's no depth. It's sucks because I'm a huge MMA fan. If this game was priced in the $15-$20 I would pick it up. That's what it's worth.

Stand up game I've grown to hate. Parries are terrible and need to be removed, I've grown to hate them so much I won't buy another UFC or Fight Night which has them.

Extremely poor representation of stamina in my opinion, every fighter is hoped up on bath salts and has the stamina to go until 2017. Lets all do 45 spinning jumping round house kicks because there is no penalty......oh wait supposedly there is a penalty. Oh well do them anyway, the penalty is so small the pay off of laser accuracy + high damage out weight the so called "penalty".

Blocking is over powered, this is one area I felt Fight Night Champions did a good job representing it. Punches could slip through cracks or finding openings. UFC 2 the blocking is perfect and that isn't a proper representation.

Flash knockouts not being in is laughable bad. If stamina, punch accuracy, and blocking were tuned correctly then flash knockouts would fit in perfectly. In the current system I can see why they don't exist, of course it feels to random when you land 35 flying superman punches and the guy keeps on coming forward BUT that small left hook suddenly flash knockouts the opponent....I'd be pissed too lol.

Punch accuracy is far to accurate. This was a huge complaint of mine when I went down for Champions and Brizzo & squad made some changes while we were up there which reduced punch accuracy drastically. It was fantastic and really pumped me up for the release, sadly it was re-tuned back to the higher punch accuracy when it did release. This is pretty much the same situation as UFC 2, all strikes are laser accurate and that leads into far bigger problems like the dreaded "spamming". Reduce accuracy which opens up counters, which stops spamming.

Clinch game is a mess, its far from intuitive like the ground game. Which way are they transitioning? Which way do I deny? Ohhh well I just spam crap until I'm either in the dreaded stand up game again OR better yet I'm finally on the best part of the game......THE GROUND.

Summary: I love the ground game, Clinch is mehhhhhhh, Stand up is in very bad shape. Stand up game is so arcady it has pushed me away from the game completely.
Great post, Phobia.

The stand-up game has left me as an offline-only guy, completely frustrated with this game. Why there's no flash KO's is beyond me and it seems recently that my strikes do little to no damage, yet the CPU can hit me with 2 jabs (I try and not use high block unless I'm stunned) and that depletes a large portion of my bar.

The game ain't perfect, but there's an insane amount of depth.

I play everyday for hours, and i'm still learning new stuff.

I've seen people get really creative with the tattoo layering.

Recently I spent a good amount of time making some pretty cool + detailed spats for my Shinya Aoki Caf.

Looks pretty wicked if I do say so myself. I'll try to get a picture and post it in the CAF thread.

I know everyone has their own style, but runners are terrible. I hate having to chase a guy down. I understand wanting to be elusive and all that or trying to clear the cobwebs, but going against someone who backpedals all day is always a boring fight. I like to stay in the pocket and just out of range, so I can't get down with that **** lol.

That being said, most people online who fight going backwards aren't very good at it. I usually end up getting them one way or another.

Unless you're Diego Sanchez. No one in MMA just runs straight to the center and "bangs it out".

More people need to incorporate movement into their style so we can have some realistic fights.

Pappy, as much as you hate runners. Guys who just press forward, mindlessly winging strikes bothers me just as much. So unrealistic and goofy; Throwing like 200 strikes a round...

I don't even mind the running in itself, but I hate the running combined with the high block, that way it is almost impossible to catch them

I hear you. I don't fight mindlessly, believe me. I respect a guy that can make me miss, that's cool. I'm just not a fan of dudes who retreat the whole match. When this happens a lot, I usually just grab them or put my back against the cage until they engage. I have a lot of staring contests online lol. If a guy is really determined to run the whole fight it can be a bitch, though.

Haha. Yeah man. I feel you though.

And I didn't mean to insinuate that you mindlessly press forward mashing buttons! Sorry! I just meant in general.

I've definitely got hatemail on more than 1 occasion for being "boring". lol. I guess because I don't just stand in the center and "bang".

You, sir, are mistaken. If you are Robbie Lawler, this is exactly what you do because he is so OP that he can machine gun blast, get hit stuns/reactions, break your guard and never lose stamina.

I fight more like you I think. I tend to circle a lot and pick my spots, often looking to get it to the ground. People hate all of that, especially the ground part. So normally if I see a McGregor or Lawwler player I actually don't take time, I get to mount and knock them out ASAP just because those characters piss me off

First off, lemme point out I have my settings set for only 5 round fights.

My favorite thing to do against McGregors is to literally "run" for 3-4 rounds. Playing very paced, basically only throwing jabs-straights, and leg kicks. Stuffing takedowns, and if I get a chance, hold them on the ground denying everything. The whole time they're doing almost nothing but mindlessly throwing spin kicks, and side kicks, slowly gassing themselves out.

By the time you hit rd 4-5 they usually have only a sliver a stamina left. That's when I start to actually open up, and pressure them hard, cutting off the cage. These are some of the most fun times i've had in EA UFC 2. They only have enough stamina to throw 1-2 strikes before theyre totally gassed, and I have almost an entire stamina bar still, and can just completely open up, picking them apart with everything I have.

I wish that so many fighters didn't have the superman punch. It really ****s up my combos. Maybe make you click in the right analog or something for guys who have it., I don't know. I use a lot of people, so I need to start making better mental notes of people's move sets or something.

# 437 Haz____ @ 07/30/16 09:54 AM
Pappy, im convinced everyone having superman punches is some kind of sick joke the devs are playing on us.

Just lost because I hit the playstation button when trying to get out of a sub. Sadly, this isn't the first time this has happened lol.

Ya I do that sometimes on Ps4 when a game is laggy and I'm trying to smash the buttons harder and faster because of it. It actually happen to me last night in a championship fight.

This has been a issue for me since PS3 days. That dam button always gets hit by mistake.

# 440 Pappy Knuckles @ 08/07/16 07:10 AM
I know it will never happen, but in future editions I'd like to see a system that really shows how good guys are in this game. I'm not saying take away the leaderboards or anything like that, but some kind of rating in addition to that would be cool. If you've got a million wins, but all you play with is Jones, McGregor and Rousey that isn't really that impressive to me. Things like fighters used, strength of opponent, etc could tie into it. I think that would be pretty cool.
