For me it feels great to Play, the gameplay is smart. Graphics and animations are sometimes stupid and othertimes sensationell.
From the gameplay i prefer NBA Live over NBA2k.

But thats maybe only because im not a Baseball-Freak. I think im gona buy it when it is a Little bit cheaper.
Okay so I am not the only one, there is something about Live that is just more appealing to me then 2K this year.

No, you are absolutely not the only one! I like the depth of the other game in regards to customization, Dynasty mode, etc, but that's where I stop. I have been going back and forth with both games ( to get my money's worth) and while I see and acknowledge the improvements made to its gameplay (a third patch was recently released) I simply can't stay too engaged with the game. I have to be honest with my assessment here. There are certain aspects I would like implemented in Live from the other game but Live overall feels more...alive! Don't mean for this to sound like a bash in anyway because the other games does have some exciting features that inject life and player/team uniqueness is more evident in that game. However, Live has also improved in this regard (would like to see what they do throughout the year and especially next year with this solid foundation). The way the players walk, run and drribbleand is more realistic in my opinion and they appear more energized and off ball movements especially draws you in. This year, the cpu really cycles through play sets and the attack mentality is great. With proper sliders in place, the game can play really well (looking forward to what the patch will address) and feel s more dynamic and organic to a certain degree. The big shame is the lack of community involvement from EA, it was actually better last year. Baffling is not even the word I'd use at this stage. I.really hope this game will continue to thrive and that the devs are listening to us.

Live 16 is my most played PS4 game. The gameplay needs to get smoother next year, it's a little stiff. But IMO Live gets many things right and I'm looking forward to this series evolving.

I may or may not give this game a shot again after the patch if the price is right....

Not about to care about this game if the company doesn't...it's mid November and we still have players missing and incomplete players...thats ridiculous- even for a fan of the series

Have they even added Chalmers to the Grizz yet? My guess is no.

Started my rising star because I'm not feeling how they did lut this year

Beast ed in the rookie gane and got drafted by the sixes but game froze on in my first nba game, is this freezing thing an issue in rising star? Absolutely a fan of of mode now due to the improved gameplay.

I personally have not encountered this issue with freezes. The menu screen in this mode is slow, that's the only issue I've noticed! I just commenced mine and was very shocked how much I enjoyed the mode, player lock and all. I'm normally not into this sort of thing but the rookie showcase game was fantastic and a great way to witness all the greatly scanned rookies this year! Really recommend to those on the fence about Rising Star.

In regards to gameplay, they continue to tune the game and the results are good. Noticed that they've tweaked defense for the better again while allowing more shots to fall for the cpu especially. Just completed a very Sim like game vs Bulls both teams shooting in the lower 50 % fg range. The game is flowing very smoothly now and the cpu is passing the ball with effectivness. New swing and bounce pass animations have been added or better utilized and walk up dribbling has been sped up ( especially the behind back stutter step types) and implemented more realistically.

One issue with defense is certain moves are still overpowering. I can usually hit an angled quick burst first step move with a speedy player like Bron or Wall, after walking the ball up court (lulls the cpu to sleep) , and blast down the paint for a dunk. This occurs in successive possessions. Paint contact and help d have surely improved, however, the cpu does not react fast enough or the moves need to be toned down. I did notice this move was more effective against the Pelicans and not as much against the Nets or Bulls. Overall defense still needs work in this game as there are very exploitable holes at present.

All in all, I really approve of what the devs are doing with the game right now. Hope they continue and eventually bring the game to a stable or consistent state.

Well, I guess I will be reluctantly going back to implementing sliders! I love the offensive improvements since 1.04 but the defense is still kinda porous!

Bad news: Reverting to sliders
Good news: Minimal adjustments should be needed since patch 1.04 improved several aspects of the game.
Bad news: Synergy/tuning and it's volatile impact on custom sliders.

Damn!!

The shot contest slider is broken. Does nothing. At 0 or 100 or anything in between I see no difference in the shot percentages displayed or results from my eye ball test.

I think the contested shot is affected a bit too much. This article (https://www.numberfire.com/nba/news/...age-in-the-nba) shows how an open jump shot (8' or more) goes in 40% vs 30% for a highly contested shot. There isn't a huge difference although if teams are putting up 50 jump shots a night getting a quarter less baskets to fall is huge. In Live it seems that jump shots lose 15% or more when contested (and not even red contested, just in the vicinity) from my observations. It depends where on the floor but it seems to have a bigger impact on the shots further away. But you can set the shot contest slider anywhere you want and it does nothing. Disappointing. I'd like to get slider increments in 5 points too. If they can add a slider to a patch (dribble frequency) they should be able to change a lot of things.

Game plays much better after the patch. Some really good stuff and much more mid range and catch and shoot.

One big issue though is now the CPU never passes out after an offensive rebound. It is entitely auto put back.

Anyone seen the cpu kick it out or reset the offense after this patch???

Yes, its definately improved post patch. The kick outs from the post are still there and i think its triggered more by cutting of the cpu. Its not as frequent as you pointed out. Also, low and behold, witnessed 2 bank shots that were not layups. Another rare occurence but glad to see in game.

Also, the game is now playing well on defense again on All Star level. More contact around the perimeter and collisions and blocks in the paint. The consistency issues with this game can be frustrating! They are making great progress however so hoping they make this game stable soon!

I meant after offensive rebounds...the CPU now simply throws the ball back at the basket after every offensive rebound. Even when they are not even facing the basket, they just throw it up.

Dellavadova gets an ORB and I have Drummond blocking him...he has three point shooters open...but just throws it back up from a ridiculous position.

The cpu does this now after every offensive rebound.

Played five games post patch and yet to see the CPU pass out after an ORB.

Really frustrating.

Rebounding itself is better...but now offensive rebounding is completely ruined.

Seems every time they fix something with a patch, they break something else.

I found that before the patch as well, no different for me - they almost always throw it back up after an offensive rebound.

That's always been a problem in the game. So that plus the 'I'm open at the three point line I must charge to the hoop like a wild bull' offensive flaws hurt the otherwise nice flow to the CPU offense.

Yes, definitely always a problem.

It was not an issue in the demo though...I actually made videos and a comparison with 2K as that game had no kicks outs when released. Since fixed by Beluba's patch.

So, it is really, really frustrating that LIVE actually had it right...and then their tuner updates ruined it.

You are 100% correct...the flow of th cpu offense is really nice. It is just let down by the offensive rebounding and the wild charge to the hoop stuff you mentioned. If they could just address these two things and continue to tidy up the post moves, we would have a really decent basketball game on our hands.

I think the shot contest slider does work but it's weak and reversed. At 100 it seems to be a smaller effect than 0 on jump shooters but still affects them significantly. Overall I wish the sliders were in at least five point increments and more powerful. The blocking and stealing sliders are weak too although stealing is more about passing lanes.

It works perfectly if your using Ratings ONLY shooting

I use skill + ratings. It's a video game and I want to have more impact on the game.

I have to agree, the game play much different and Better I mean after the few patches, Im a basketball fan, but yeah I prefer LIVE over 2K this year.

Call me crazy I enjoy the gameplay, I play on superstar and I love how the game flows, I have to fight for a win and It seems honest when Im losing.

Perhaps my explanation was not clear enough. The kick out after O reboundoing is more likely if your defender/s maintains good defensive positioning to cut off and discourage the auto putback attempt I just witnessed it in a game today where Mahinmi of the Pacers got the O rebound but then after sensing the presence of my 2 defenders, Derozan and Valancianus, quickly passed the ball to Solomon who was camping out at the 3pt arc. I am sure this was more prevalent pre patch and player rating around the rim comes into play, but it's doable. Just like the mid range game pre patch, though it was present, it still needed further tweaks to get it to its present state which appears to be well received this time around.

Cool...shall try. I have been doubling the cou the moment they get a cou, but they still go back up every time.Even on long rebounds.

I did see instances of what you mentioned pre patch.....hoping it is still there post patch, but yet to see any.

BTW Are you back on default sliders bro?
