When I played this game, I must say that this game is great on SS with sliders that will lower shooting percentages, increase collisions and blocking. I was amazed on how sim it can be if you have the right settings.

My main mode was franchise and I wanted to see how it is after 2 years, so I simmed it. I saw that most players that is a no brainer to resign did sign with their current team. There were also a few good players that moved but it was understandable. So basically, I think CPU logic is decent in the offseason.

Now is this game perfect? Nope, but I played the other game and that game has flaws also. Is it a sim? On default, it isn't but it does have enough sliders to make it that way. is it fun? Yes!!!

On Superstar level slider adjustments could make sense. My only problem with that is how the adjustments affect the rest of the game. I will toy with it later but my exlerience on All Star with sliders made me revert to default settings after noticing that certain elements of the game were broken or negatively affected if not careful with the adjustments. Its always good to play the game as the devs intended, however, since we have sliders, and knowing the game can be sensitive, it would be best to keep it close to this design as much as realistically possible. I am not sure if the sliders will continue to work this way for 17 but would be nice to alter the sliders without fear. Maybe they have improved the sliders post patch, dont know.

I think that the gameplay compared to 10 is a little better post patch. It forces you to move the ball, shoot open jumpshots etc.

As far as looks, it is kind of the same as far as legs, arms but it looks better when its on your tv compared to a video.

Just breaking into the game this evening, are you playing with default sliders? Curious as to any changes you've made

I will give props to gotmadskillsson. I saw his gameplay of sixers vs grizzlies and he stated what his set was. That is the set im playing. When playing on default, it felt like those layup, flipshots were automatic and I hate that because those shots arent given in real life. Also, i want layups to be tough to make if the defense is present. The settings will make non dunkers either miss layups or get blocked if the defense is present.

@bigdnlaca interested to see these sliders, where could I find them?

Sounds good. Don't get me wrong. After extensive but methodical tinkering, I was able to find very effective sliders on All Star pre patch 4. The problem I and some otherw found is that Synergy tweaks negated whatever balance or gameplay achieved with the custom sliders. I do believe the quest to strike this gameplay balance post patch 4 and recent tweaks should be shorter given the good progress the devs have made, however I still recommend a step by step approach.

Personally, I do find it satisfying containing the cpu on this level ( not taking away from All Star since the game is still challenging and plays well on that level) though the cpu ratings have been boosted. I can also see the other side of the arguement however. I will give his sliders a shot and experiment some myself. I simply appreciate how the cpu plays (aggressive on offense and defense, etc) on Superstar so minor adjustments could really make it beautiful.

Credit to gotmadskillsson:

Sliders are the same for user and cpu all shooting sliders @ 40, all collision sliders at 100, and blocking at 90. Everything else default. What i did is free throws and shooting is rating only.

Played Minn vs Lakers (me) and Minn was the better team and ran me out the gym in the first quarter, then I came back to cut the deficit by halftime. I cut it to 3 at the end of the third. In the fourth, Wiggins and Rubio isolated me and I had no answer. Lost by 20 and I didnt feel like it was scripted. I failed to execute on offense and played horrible defense.

Gotta say, I was a little skeptical when I first started playing. But it seems like the more I play, the more fun I have and the more I notice all the improvements that have been implemented. The LIVE team deserves quite a bit of praise in my opinion, it is not easy to rebuild a franchise once known as the GOAT, especially after so many failed attempts. But, finally, this game is headed in the right direction and Live 16 is a good basketball game on the court (game is very barebones off).

First off, it took me a while to get used to playing "Live" again after playing the other game religiously since release. But once I became adjusted to the rhythm of the game, player movement, ball movement, animations, etc. I started to enjoy the game. It just feels like basketball, and the presentation doesn't get its due. The ESPN license is huge for immersion.

Where this game really shines over the competition is fairness versus the CPU. Win/lose outcomes, timing, positioning, nothing feels scripted. I feel like I get rewarded for making the right basketball plays more often in this game. This game is very smooth, also. It's fun just playing, and i get realistic results because I know the game. Love the art style as well.

It's still early on. Third day playing the game so we will see how things go.

Great feedback! I own and play both games as well and echo your sentiments. There are some flaws you will come across as you progress with your play, however, its a good thing you purchased the game when you did because a good portion of the gameplay issues have been addressed post patches and daily fine tuning. At this juncture, the game is truly underrated .

First time I have played in a few days and i have already seen the CPU kick out after offensive rebounds a few times...much improved

Really adds to the flow of the game.

It is great the way they are tweaking the game.

Agreed. I posted this in the video thread, but it's an example of the CPU making extra passes and not just charging to the hoop as well.

That was excellent

Really playing well at the moment...

Team styles are so much better now also. Curry plays like Curry, Draymond Green plays at times from th top of they key...Drummond on the Pistons completely different to Draymond etc.

Really promising signs.

What level of the game is this? All Star? One complaint about Superstar level is that you dont typically see this level of ball distribution. It is better after tweaks but could use more.

Actually you see that nightly from the Warriors, IRL. (Synergy evidence?) Nice D to force the rotation, Nice job EA on the counter AI ball movement, and nice video capture.

On SS the CPU takes that drive path (least resistance) because its easier, and it can react faster than you can for the most part. Mixing in the occasional zone will force this type of movement on SS at times, but over use of the zone, against CPU, with non-elite defenders, will get you shot out of the gym fast.

This is correct. The cpu has the ratings boost so they react quicker and what would otherwise result in cutting off penetration in Pro or All Star, becomes an open lane for the cpu on this level. I just switched to playing on Superstar so still adapting to the way the cpu plays. Have to strategize. Also, to make matters worse, and with this understanding in mind, there are times when the game operates at near supersonic speeds outside of Synergys influence. If any one recalls I had the same problem last year (though less pronounced this year). I have noticed a correlation to room temperature fluctuations when this phenomenon occurs. This is one issue, amongst others, that leads me to focuse on the Ps4 ( or perhaps MY Ps4) as being the culprit. As is, when the game is operating this way, the cpu players (though not restricted to the cpu since all players on the court, including the human team, move at the same quasi warp speed) can zip around the court almost unimpeded leading to more instances of subpar ball movement! You mix this effect with Superstars boosted ratings and well, you get the picture.

You ain't lying. I usually regard the highest difficulty levels of any game like this....

up +down +up +down +left +right +left +right + B +A + Start....

Seriously though, on SS, if you plan out the attack on the basket similarly, (pre-plan your attack sequence/moves instead of reacting) it helps to keep the animations + difficulty boost from being awkwardly displayed as warping animations or the having CPU pressure that is too fast to adjust to without resorting to the cheesy driving/defensive tactics.

I've also suggested this "approach" in the past for those who fail in succeed in using the the various post contextual moves(yes, more needed), or unable to pull off branching stick moves.

How is Live 16 since the patch? Torn between this and 2k.

No input from anyone?
