The cpu defense has reverted to playing a bit loose again since yesterday ( able to successfully use the quick first step move to get around my defender and attack the basket). To be clear this issue is more evident with speedy players in the 90's range. Even though the games are lively, I am witnessing more up and down games that result in higher scores and fg% s. If one is able to beat a first line defender off the dribble with such a move, I would at least like to see the help defenders react quicker to clog and protect the lane/basket. Also still seeing low 3pt rating bigs like Noel and Okafor taking 3pt shots during games. My observations on Superstar level. The game is very fluid otherwise though which is always nice to see.

Your opinions go back and forth a lot. It has almost nothing to do with patches or updates.

It is Synergy blending with the game AI and sliders. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

I guess the positive is that no two games are the same and there is always potential for a team having a horrible night, or going on amazing runs, stars to go for 50 or role players breaking out.

3 months since release, I'm really enjoying the game. Lots (lots!) to improve on but damn the game is fun to play.

That is absolutely my point. If you have followed my posts I have referenced this ( your premise) several times. The objective for posting my findings is to mainly assist the devs in addressing Synergy as needed ( If they read the board) and to assist community members in some capacity. Would like to ultimately see more consistency with the Synergy updates and tweaks. I would be remiss if I didn't say that the consistency has improved especially within the last 2 weeks and we are witnessing more player tendency accuracy as a result of this. In sum, Synergy is working way more often than not at this juncture!

Honestly, the game has been responding extremely well to user input and is very engaging at present!

It's good to see Synergy finally play a role in how the game plays, they finally figured it out. This simply hasn't been the case the last 2 years despite belief....good ****

They just need to clean up some things like bigs attacking form the 3 point line (his is where editing could help)....but overall it's a huge step forward for the series...

Just got the game. I'm trying to do the big moments. I keep hitting game winners at the buzzer..but the challenge isn't becoming completed. Any ideas why?

Found out why. Sorry.

In addition to this, these same bigs are executing eurostep type nimble moves (not saying the frequency is high but concerning nonetheless) on their way to the basket from the 3pt line or other spots on the court. I wouldn't expect Greg Monroe to be able to pull of such a move but I just witnessed this in a game played earlier. I am also seeing bigs like Noel and Okafor hoist 3pt shots. Mind you, I am playing the game on Superstar difficulty, however these occurences should be addressed. I continue to be impressed with the overall feel and direction of this game!

For anyone interested in knowing, I was able to validate my prior observations regarding Tip Off vs Dynasty mode game difficulty. By design, and in an effort to eliminate as many variables as possible, I made sure to use the same teams ( Thunder and Nets) during testing, Superstar mode/default sliders. The results = The cpu defense is more robust in Dynasty mode! The players are simply more aggresive on both sides of the court. They closeout more effectively and challenge shots skillfully. I was unable to pull of the quick first step move successfully because the cpu defender facing the ball handler maintained proper spacing/ distance and positioning and was able to recover quicker or track my players movement better when angling towards the gap, thus cutting off penetration. When I did get by the cpu's first line defender, help defenders were anxiously awaiting my arrival in the lane or at the rim, effectively diverting or stopping my progress. Other times my lay-up or dunk attempts were either blocked or negatively affected. Pass interceptions and steals also occured with greater frequency according to my findings. Also, the cpu does a better job of defending during the 2 minute mark in the 4th and down thanks to the increased intensity. On offense, and as mentioned, it's a similar story. Definately more agressiveness and effectiveness from the cpu. This should be great news for those contemplating starting Dynasty mode game and I personally like the tougher cpu play. Really enjoyed how the cpu plays on both ends of the court in Dynasty mode.

This game is a hidden gem at this stage. The better I get the better the game gets for me. I'm actually making the game look pretty good even animation wise just by learning how to trigger animations. And the best part is none feel canned or pre determined. Also love the experience on superstar with my sliders Set I've been building for the last few days.

They really don't feel canned and that's the hidden beauty in the responsive gameplay as well.

If your guy tries to block someone and comes down on a teammate, his hand will bend and react where it hits and not just clip through either.

Knees hit other knees and while the top body and arm animations continue for a shot, the legs collide and react fairly realistically.

There's still bad animations and others that 'suck' into place but for the most part the don't feel pre-determined at all.

Definitely agree. The physics in the game are very undervalued. That goes for ball physics as well. It feels live (except when it hits the backboard lol).

Idk if its me getting older or sick of the other game but this game is growing on me. It is extremely fun and the gameplay is addicting. Seems like it excels in areas the competition lacks. And vice versa. That's great for us as fans going forward.

All in all, I like how the game responds to my controller inputs. I feel like I dictate how the game plays. It doesn't feel cheap either. When I get beat I laugh because it's usually for good reason. Superstars play like they know they are better than you and are noticeably more aggressive than other players. And the hit you in a variety of different ways. One of my favorite aspects.

The NBA LIVE account on FB is kind of skirting around the question, but they're making it appear as if Porzingis will be updated this year along with some others....

I sure hope so....hard to play with the Knicks with him looking like that....and bald Langston Galloway. Major props if they do

I actually like the Live player models. I think the graphics are really good. The player skin tones and jersey fabrics are on par , if not better than 2K. The only draw back I Dan see with this game is the passing. If they can allow to edit players and adjust the passing mechanics this could easily be the game of choice come next year

Speaking of animations/physics and being able to control them, once aspect of this game that's under the radar is the ability to adjust ones shot (typically around the basket) upon contact! There are some hidden but slick animations that can be triggered during these sequences that are actually effective and fit contextually. Really surprised to not hear more about this around here. There is ALOT here they can work with next year. Unleash the game

The more I play the more I enjoy the game. Nothing seems canned and each game I've played has felt different the one before it. I just need to get the pull up shots down and I will be good. Started a dynasty with the Knicks and dropped 30 with Prizingis. Struggling with Melos shot though.

Updated:

Well, though the game continues to play well (teams executing like their real life counterparts, good ball distribution, more accurate player tendencies, responsive user input, game fluidity, improved defense, etc), for the past few days, I've observed that the cpu has lost its "edge" on both ends of the court in Dynasty mode. This is disheartening. If you review my previous but recent posts in this very thread, I praised the "aggressiveness and effectiveness" of the cpu in this mode. The cpu challenge was fantastic all around and, IMO, at times even necessitated (on defense) the use of coaching strategies and defensive assignment changes, etc, to be successful against its attack. This was the case for an entire 1 -2 weeks after beginning a new Dynasty (also applied to all "test Dynasties started during that period of time). Also, on offense (human and cpu) fg%'s often were within realistic range (40% to 50%).

I reported my findings at the time to simply inform the community of the differences between Tip off and Dynasty mode and to fully support the elevated gameplay (could have used some minor tweaks here and there but played superbly otherwise) allowed in this mode.

After beginning a new "test Dynasty" within the past few days (was patiently waiting to see if any Synergy tweaks/tuning would bring the competition/intensity back), I've noticed a rather noticeable decline in this regard. I have won ALL my games with little effort while my fg% has averaged in the mid 60% range. Also, my cpu opponents have been easily (for the most part) kept in check while shooting in the 30% to 40% range. As you can imagine, there has been no need to employ any special defensive tactics ( no defensive pressure or assignment adjustment) as a result of this change. Finally, since the cpu is no longer as active on defense, the defensive coverage when down at the 2 point mark and full court press activated, is not as good as it was last week. Interestingly enough, the cpu defense appears ok in general.

I hope this is re-evaluated soon ( Superstar level must truly represent and play like the ultimate level) and they bring back that intensity that's sorely needed. In case you are wondering (just completed a game in my Dynasty from last week that makes this distinction in gameplay painfully clear), your existing Dynasties are NOT impacted, only the newly created will display my latest findings. This also validates the notion that Synergy tweaks don't apply to existing Dynasties. I'm playing the game on Superstar level with default sliders.

Didn't see a thread. Has there been any updates in the last couple of days? Game seems faster than before, which I like

I've noticed this as well. It makes the animations look smoother and I dont feel like my ball-handlers are dribbling in mud lol.

What is up with all these gameplay changes that pop up out of nowhere? I don't understand it
