2. When you shoot, the legacy issue still remains of your attackers moving backwards immediately once the CPU touches the ball. Just watch any replay. It's incredibly annoying.

3. There are hot spots/methods for making the ball go in the goal. When the game is tied or within a goal it's incredibly hard to resist using the methods.

Don't get me wrong, I have stayed up until 2am since the game hit EA access/the full game hit stores playing it.

It probably is the best FIFA in awhile but the more you start to see the patterns in the AI the more the shine wears off.
Sorry but I don't understand that. Ofc the cpu AI will have patterns as their attacking approach is based on algorithms that include formation, ability, momentum, time etc. The adaptive difficulty is by default on which means certain situations trigger in specific moments. Some might say it's scripted but that's the way the AI is programmed by EA devs.
That said, it doesn't mean the AI is boring. It's not boring because this time stats, abilities and individual ratings really matter. The AI is programmed to find the best pass to the open teammate. Example: Team AI Arsenal deploys plan A for attack according to their formation. Plan A is pass to player A->B->C->D-> Shoot. If you intervene somewhere on C they'll go straight to the D option if this player is not marked tightly/properly. If he is marked they'll go back to option A or B and start again.
I think what you're looking for is a freelance offense/attack like the last 2 NBA2k titles. This is not going to be implemented on FIFA unless EA Canada hires some pc coding experts who also have a big knowledge of the sport.

Ok yeah we are talking about the same thing.

When I say A or B I mean it in simpler terms of Dribble or Pass.

All video games have a programmed AI pattern. Some things will work other things will not. Side note NBA2K is no exception to this. There is no freelance anything. It is all, all things, in all video games a coded pattern.

If you want to play sports without a programmed AI pattern join a club and go play the actual sport.

Well, let's put it another way. We should be thankful the game is this close to good gameplay even though its very incomplete.

No practice mode
No highlights of the week
No match day games you can quickly choose from other leagues
Sparse tournaments in fut, 4 when we used to have over a dozen
A bizarre 1v1 arena which does not allow you to change camera, and only has a scoring system when you are the keeper and erroneously has the practice match options omitted (why?)
No weather/stadium chooser for online
A poor online friendly system which forces you all the way out to the games invite screen if you decide you dont like the teams kits you picked

Fear is in the air though because pc users at reddit are saying the latest patch changes gameplay...

The main problem is EA would rather trot this game out on a giant screen in a convention center and have two sweaty pace abusers punt the ball about and howl about ronny's bicycle kick goal than to show a dev playing the cpu and explain how widebacks now contain by relying on backside help and the sideline to keep wingers from threatening straight line runs down the wing.

All of these gameplay changes have nothing to do with offline players. Speed and LB+Y were nerfed to even out the fut playing field, it's also why they increased the level of the ai team mate defending.

These fut changes made the offline game better.

The bizarre thing here is fut gameplay vs the ai may be the best thing this game has going. The cpu can score on you in semi-pro. I am a cm and kickoff WC player so to see the cpu have teeth on semi pro is refreshing.

I am just so puzzled why this cpu tenacity was not brought into kickoff and cm.

This is a game that would bask in glory if you could set attacking and defending cpu AI skill level individually.

One thing is for sure, I dont see any other game have such wildly different AI across its different (in fifa's case 3) modes.

Nevermind I edited this because I do not care if other people dislike the game or buy the hype that the patch ruins it....

FIFA 16 plays as good as any other sports game ever made. And plays better than most. I am speaking offline Manager Mode from a sim aspect. I do not play online as it is not girl friendly at all... I do not play FUT because it is not sim. So, for the mode I play the game is great. The patch has not changed that.

Reddit will quit worrying about the patch when a celebrity's iPhone pics are hacked, fear not they will find something better to give false info on.

I have been reading a lot of the problems people having on FIFA I and I just want to give my view.
First of all I play on legendary with default sliders except:

CPU:
Pass error. 60
shot error. 53
FT. 60

I play on normal speed and 10 min halves, the reason for normal speed is that thats the only way to get the nice reaktions and animations, the game is made for playing on normal speed.

Sliders are only there if you finding the game to hard or easy. You can change the gameplay with sliders but why do you wanna mess with the programming, and if you do how can you complain on the AI?!
EA have made a great game with a very good CPU who plays in different ways every match depending on their and your tactic.

Next thing is that I have seen many complains about that FIFA is scripted.
Of course its scripted!! Its a videogame and EA wants us to have matches that not look the same every time. I say thank you EA for that! If it wasnt you would find a weakness on cpu and then you could use that every time.

And when it comes to actually playing on legendary its all about your tactics and approach. When CPU have the ball, Pressure them with your strikers, when they are in attack, be aggressive but hold your positions, its take a lot of training and the thing is to not tackle until you in the perfect position to do so.The reason that you players dont react the same when a ball get right next to them like they do in PRO is that it would be to easy to defend, now you have to be in control and cant rely on AI.

In attack you have to mix it up, and change tactic depending on who you up against. When you have a palyer with a lot of pace, make sure that you get 1on1 situations against a slow player, same goes with strenght. Play smart and mix up the tempo to get them confuse in CPU defense.

I have played almost one season with southampton this way and its been a fantastic one, I am not fully learned yet and are in 6th place at the moment.
The CPU plays with big variation. Chelsea are extremly hard to score on, and when you meet Sunderland you know that you can attack.
I have having three 0-0 games and some 4-0, all in all real life stats and goals.

So dont mess with sliders to much, use them to make the game easier or harder and you will get a great game!
Its all about how you play it. EA has nailed it, trust me. Thanks

True but some games are coded better than others.

Totally agree with you... I also think it has to do with individual skill to an extent. If you master a game, so to speak, then you become more aware of AI coded patterns.

Which games are coded best is of course just opinion.

Does EA usually patch new faces into their game?

Yes. Someone said they already saw the scans for Depay and Martial. Don't know if that's been verified.

Really, I am shocked they didn't do it last year since Harry Kan was pretty much untouched last year.

If this is true I am very happy... Because I bet a few others as well are done. Any young Dutch players make me happy as I always try to get that National job in my top teir MM.

Martial is French right?

Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere (not been able to find it through search).

Just wondering whether anyone knows what kind of potential created players get in FIFA 16? I've created a few missing players, mostly aged 17-19 and with overalls in the low 50s, and I'm just curious as to how they'll likely develop.

In career mode they don't show "Has the potential to be special" or anything like that, only "Promising player" in the training section - from what I've read that just means training benefits are quicker with them.

This is for a League One team so I don't want them to grow into 80+ overall superstars! 60-70 potential would be perfect.

Do all created players have the same potential or is it more dynamic and influenced by starting overall, etc?

In the past I thought edited and created players did not grow much at all... That said this year if you train them they will grow. Promising Player has to do with quick growth not amount of growth...

If they do not have the Potential to Be Special or any of those on their squad sheet then they will not reach 80+.

I could be wrong on all this but that is my understanding.

Thanks a lot, that's very helpful. I'll probably keep the older ones in the very low 50s and the 16-17 year olds in the high 40s, then. Hopefully that way they won't have potentials over 70+, but if they're looking like being too low I can always use training later down the line to bump them up.

I really like the new layout, it really is a nice game!

# 277 J-Unit40 @ 10/06/15 08:46 PM
Anyone know why players (Ronaldo), who typically wear long sleeve jerseys for most of the year (or all year round) only wear long sleeve jerseys in the winter? It's almost the opposite of the winter gear bug. The edit screen says "long sleeve", but it is only worn during the winter .

I don't believe this was present in previous FIFAs.

This is a small detail, but something that's noticeable.

Overall, I'm enjoying this year's game.

While the game has at least changed the layout from 15 to 16 (I swear 14 to 15 had no layout changes) I am someone who plays a lot of MyCareer and I am not impressed like I thought I would be.

The training is a great little addition but I would have liked to see random transfers of your player. I like to take the MLS into Football League 2 and have them work their way up. It would be smart for the Crew to sell me after I am worth $14mil and spend that money elsewhere. Plus it would add an interesting dynamic to the game and the transfer window if you knew there was always a possibility of being sold.

Other than that there is no real depth to MyCareer and much of it is the same as last year packaged in a prettier box.

Oh and I have learned never to play on World Class lol.

Hey guys, I was watching career mode on YouTube where guy played with Bayern. I also play with Bayern. After he scores the goal, there is music in the stadium like in real life. When I play, there is no such thing, so I am interested if that is something you can activate, because I was searching for that, but I couldn't find. Thanks!

Was he playing on the PC?
