I'm curious what people's impressions are on different difficulties. Ive been browsing this thread over the past few days and I've seen people complain about how easy shooting is amongst other problems but I haven't noticed anyone mention what difficulty they are playing on. I was able to essentially dominate on pro and allstar.

On Allstar with the Cavs I dropped 38 on OKC with Lebron without even trying. I wanted to see just how much I could get away with. I probably could have drove to the rim everytime if I really wanted. I took advantage of it but eased up a bit to play a little more realistically. On the flip side I played the same game except as the Thunder. I still had a great game with Durant, 32 points, and I was able to do my thing with Westbrook as well but I noticed neither were as dominant at Lebron.

I decided to bump the difficulty to superstar and I played 2 games so far, both as the Wizards playing against the Bulls. The game is definitely much tougher on superstar. I've been struggling with shooting, even when I think I have some space, causing me to be reluctant to take jumpers. Post players are still able to dominate. In my second game I posted up with Gortat nearly the entire first quarter (5 min) and was able to score, get fouled, or both almost every time down. All it took was a spin move or drop step in the post and I could go up at the rim. Driving, however, was much tougher. I tried forcing myself in the lane with Wall and while I did have success on some possessions, dunk animations can still be over powering, it was definitely not automatic. With that said I feel like there is an issue with low post, close range shots. Players seemingly toss the ball up even when covered and these rainbow type shots drop in. Sometime I press shoot other times I try hostep /euro step but the result, when covered tight, is a similar hook type shot that typically drops in. I definitely feel like calling plays is the way to go on superstar for the best success if you can execute the plays correctly however with these games I wanted to see just how sim I needed to play to be successful.

On the defensive side it was more of the same. Defense on the post was tough. Not sure if it was the players I was going against (Gasol, Noah) but I could not seem to stop them once they posted up no matter how tight I played. There would be times where Rose or Butler would get by the 1 on 1 defender and then have an open lane with no one in sight. I domt quite understand the help defense. Sometimes they commit too early or when the help isn't necessary and other times they are no where to be found, especially I'm the paint. With that said, when it is crowded in the paint things are hit or miss. It could be a block party or they could score as if they were wide open.

I feel with a patch and maybe some slider adjustmen's playing on superstar could be the best Live experience in a long time. Still probably not for everyone but I'd recommend giving it a try if you have on played on pro or allstar.

Don't think you can adjust difficulty online

Ironic Some of the same problems from 2k in previous years exist in this game.
Players not getting loose balls , A.I recover much faster than the user, lay ups seem to lack contact etc..
Speed not being a factor . Guards grabbing rebounds over bigs
Makes me realize some of this stuff is harder to code for

I finally got a few hours in last night, both offline and with the Pro-Am/Summer Circuit. Some random impressions:

- The game looks great. The players, lighting, arenas, atmosphere, ESPN camera angles...etc. Live does a nice job of immersing you in the game.

- Shooting is SO MUCH BETTER this year. It's a night and day difference. There's so much fluidity and the signature jumpers (at least with the guys I used) look nice. Hitting a jumper just feels great.

- Not only is it easy to call plays, but it's easy to execute them. That's not to say that they always work, but that you don't have to spend 10 of your 24 seconds trying to position your player in the correct area just to get the play started. The off ball movement by the AI is also much improved.

- Others have said this, but the Eurostep and other layup animations are impossible to stop once they get going. The interior defense is extremely lacking, and that's frustrating to see yet again.

- I almost feel like there is a force field that if your defender is "X" amount off a certain player, that player will shoot no matter what. For instance, if you back off LBJ a few feet at the 3-point line, he will shoot it every single time. The same goes for guys like Curry, Klay, etc. Now I realize that playing off Curry and Klay makes no sense, but for guys like LBJ, it kind of ruins the experience for me. Does anyone else have that issue?

- The Summer Circuit is rough, and that has nothing to do with Live. I didn't get to take a single shot in the 5 games that I played last night. Is there a 3 on 3 option in the retail version? I then gave Pro-Am a try with a couple buddies and we had 2 CPU players on our team, and that was an absolute blast.

Overall, I can definitely see me picking this up as my secondary basketball game and me giving it quite a bit of run. BUT...and this is a big BUT...I have to see how the patch is implemented on Day 1. I refuse to rely on promises of future patches and Synergy, because I have been burned too many times in the past.

Man its gotten to the point on here that I can't block a 5'9 point guard from the laying the ball up its just so weird the position on this game. Wouldn't even lie man I have seen the cheesiest stuff so far I hope they patch the doing behind the back at will and zig zaggin is possible. I got so many clips of me just getting a rebound and going coast 2 coast. Idk I won like 15 straight games carrying the team just doing this all game long scoring like 18-20 each game. I really hope they fix a lot of this stuff for the people who are going to buy this game. Also Im curious to know why they didnt put fouls into the game and games to 21 just way too short for me im a 4Q type of guy though.

lol your clip is my experience with the mode thus far, and if its not a user doing that its Tristan Thompson on summer circuit going coast to coast or crossing over from the perimeter and lebroning.

Yet...I'm still having fun with it when you find smart players. I've accepted the NBA street style gameplay.

By the way what purpose do the refs serve for Pro-Am, is there going to be fouls in the retail version?

# 312 SpritePuck @ 09/17/15 11:53 AM
Does the ProAm end at game drop or the entire demo go away?

If one purchases the game is the demo download the game? Or do I have to download another 24GB? Guess it does not matter but get tired of waiting on downloads.

If you're on the PS4, go to the PS4 dashboard, it's Under Notifications, then the "Downloading" tab. It'll tell you how much you have left. Based on your 44% installing, I'd assume that you're around 10GB total downloaded thus far.

I think they need to update the Pro-Am and allow 3v3. Played a couple of 5v5 where everyone was controlled by a human...it was awful. Hero ball, And1, whatever you wanna call it...it was all the guys did and it was frustrating. At least 3v3 you can't be ignored. 5v5 you can freeze 2 or 3 guys out completely.

Got to give credit to EA for the soundtrack, especially the way it's manipulated in the Pro-Am mode, it's as if there's a DJ just playing short, instrumental versions of the full songs one after another. Definitely helps enhance the immersion.

Not much new to add in terms of impressions. This would make a good street arcade game to buy on the PSN store, but then the speed and fluidity of the plays makes the NBA game enjoyable.

- I enjoy using the handoff button though it would be even better if the player making the pass would attempt to screen the trailing defender.

- The camera for the tutorial is busted.

- The post game is remedial. That post hook makes no sense.

- They still have the last-gen "hitchiness" in the paint which looks plain ugly.

- Graphics looks crisp and lighting & colour combination are beautiful both on the NBA courts and outdoor courts.

- Collision detection is almost non-existent for dunkers who attempt dunks from cartoonish distances, which is a shame because when it actually happens it looks good, I recall in one game getting in front of Durant who looked like he was about to slam it home but I managed to foul him and force him to shoot at the line.

- Commentary is good, JVG is allowed to be his humorous self and call out Breen at times, and key thing is they're focused on the action. Half-time/post-game w/ Jalen Rose is good too.

They may need to boost on ball steals up a little (this may be because no ones steal rating is that high though)

There was a guy on the court who was just sitting idle and a rebound fell int his hands...

4 of us gathered around him trying to steal the ball for :20 but couldn't get it, lol

Once you get past the amazing advancements in graphics (without a doubt, best in class, IMO), the game still feels the same as Live 15.

I honestly just haven't seen many new animations that affect gameplay (obviously other than the highly advertised dribble handoffs). Haven't seen any new dunks. Some layup animations still don't very good and are completely unrealistic and not contextual. Shots close to the basket still use the same old clunky, awkward animations as in year's past. And usually these shots cannot be stopped defensively. Passing is still bad, and slow to animate, which results in turnovers.

The defensive assist button L2(LT) still doesn't feel like it actually does anything. A lot of times I'll press triangle (sometimes I'll even have to press it twice) to block a shot and nothing happens. (That's usually with my Live Run player; possibly because my block shot rating is extremely low?)

In general the game just feels slow. Players lack speed or burst; Live 15 was the same way. I don't know if EA moved in this direction because they thought it would appease sim fans, but it takes some excitement out of the game, and from a real life game featuring some of the fastest and greatest athletes in the world.

To my surprise, Live Run is incredibly fun -- didn't expect to have as much fun as I have. It was a really great idea for EA to force people to play to develop their skills as opposed to letting people pay money to become better players. Hopefully it stays that way.

The Live Companion app seems like a bad joke on many with Android phones, as the front-facing cameras vary amongst all the different phone models, and for some phones (like my HTC One m7), the app is just incapable of scanning your face. I had to scan with my girlfriend's iPhone 5s.

All that said, I am looking forward to next Friday ... when 2K16 arrives.
