I'm sure in some stores, it'll hit $39.99. Definitely a good step.

Finally was able to put some time into this an run some Pro Am. This game is awful. It controls horribly. The best thing about it is the soundtrack and presentation. I'd give it a good 5/10 based on what I've played. EA has a lot of catching up to do.

At least you can't steal at will anymore, so I guess that's progress.

Ratings definitely matter. You have to box out with LT and hit Y earlier than you think. Some of it is lag but there is def a delay and sometimes totally unresponsive maybe because there is no chance so it doesn't even activate.

I honestly thought it didn't matter, but holy crap they really do matter. Something that I definitely like a lot.

Stupid question I know but - when I get the real game I will keep the progress I have made with My PrAM character right?

Yessir, and you'll still be able to play against those who only have the Demo.

The more I play the more fun this game is, at least as long as I don't expect simulation basketball and play it like an arcade game it can be fun.I got an 80 overall center now and love swatting shots and grabbing rebounds then going up with a sick dunk.

Haha I would hope it's not dropping inputs because of that...

So I got the demo last night and have probably put 3 hours into it and the best way for me to describe how the game feels is it's like driving in Battlefield vs. 2k which is like driving in Forza or Gran Turismo. I would pay $30 max, it's not worth $60 to me. If they bring out a new engine next year then I'd say 2k will finally have competition, but as of now I'm not getting live anytime soon. They seem a year behind 2k every year.

I'm a fan of the 2K series but I'm also an old head when it comes to NBA Live. My history goes all the way back to the days of Live '95! Having ditched the series when 2K first came out on Dreamcast, this was my first attempt at giving Live a clean slate in my household. Here's my two cents after a few hours of play:

The Good:

Music - Great selection. Not one out-of-place track. Playing instrumentals that change with the tone of the game is an excellent touch.
Presentation - The menus look great, the subtle details in gameplay are impressive as well.
Leveling Up - Earned not bought. Enough said.
Gameplay - You HAVE to play as a team to win. Coming from 2K15, this is a breath of fresh air. No one or two players can dominate the game by exploiting the same moves over and over again.
A.I. - The A.I. in he Summer Circuit is impressive. Smart, competitive but not cheesy.
Clothing - The shoe selection is awesome and the clothing looks great. So happy to not have to stare at pajama pants and cowboy hats for a change!
Face Scan - Although not perfect, it's easy and far better than utilizing the PS/Xbox camera to get a clean scan.

The Bad:

The Camera - The camera follows the ball but not your player. This is SUPER confusing when you end up off screen for various reasons. Also, the camera doesn't zoom into the key so if you're a big man, it's hard to follow any action in the paint. Can this be changed?
Player Icons - I get the idea of giving human teammates additional indicators/circles, but it takes getting used to. I commonly end up looking at my teammate with the ball due to his active icon and the camera fixed onto him. There should be a distinct marker or icon for your player that differentiates yourself from your teammates.
Animations - Most of the animations are good but there are a few times you'll see some gliding layups or dunks that finish too abruptly.
Physics - My player feels almost weightless. This caused me to feel like I'm not quite in control of him. I hit the reset button on my player and created a big man but he felt no heavier than the previous PG I created. I did notice different animations though so that was a plus.

Overall, I'm having fun with Live '16 and I'm happy to see most of the community is giving it a fair shake. Live is not touching 2K but I respect the effort and will probably purchase it with expectations that EA will patch what they can. It doesn't need to compete with 2K at the moment, so this is a very good turn in direction. I love the presentation, leveling system and teamwork aspect of Live Pro-Am.

Countless times I've just watch centers or slasher sf get a rebound and just do behind the back all the way up the court then when you do get in front of them lol they start zig zaggin. I have seen the weirdest animations of all time. I pro hopped one time pump faked like 4 times some how I went in for a lay up taking like 4 steps really weird. Blocking dunks and chase down lay ups or even most lay ups seem impossible at times when it should be a block. and the passing is just awful analog passing is pretty bad also. I mean its improved from 15 and thats what you can ask for but I just couldn't see myself buying this game but pro-am is fun just not something I'd play competitive.

Maybe I haven't read enough but what will this game look like post release compared to what it looks like now? I hear all this stuff about "this is pre-patch".

What will be fixed?

I've played this game for hours probably 7 in hour six I found out how to do the signature ball handling...to me it's way better then last years I figured it out by using kyrie and steph! All right stick control tap it down continuously for steph to start his go to move same for kyrie then when the animation is done hit them wit a cross or a nice step back...I almost wasn't going to purchase until I figured this out you can hold the right trigger when you want to attack! For players like lebrons this makes it more interesting! If the day patch fixes post up issues and ai... They will have a solid product remember 15 got better with patches over time at the start it was NBA showtime on jam street😂😂😂

Ok my impressions. i played abomination known as 14 and i loved 15 and 16 for me feels like a day 1 buy.

First off, im not really a graphic guy but really. mods should look into banning the people saying this game looks like ****. like LOLWHAT? i get that you have opinions and what not but tocompare this to a mobile game is trolling.

back on track, this game feels better than 15 but it still has what i think at this point are legacy issuses. i start with the cons. all things here are based off 10 Regular games and 25 ish Pro am ones

POST DEFENSE.
WHY EA. WHY CANT THIS BE FIXED. this is the 3rd year where i have to pray that they miss. instead of knowing that my great Defense will be rewarded.
Perimeter Defense is "fine" but i try to get back on that on

DUNKS
I feel like these are too fast and they start too early and there no way to stop it. they get blocked sometimes but the other 75% of the time its pretty much like a garanteed point when combined with the lack of a post D.

LAYUPS
I just saw that annoying 360 layup animation again. you know that unblockable one? along with the other non blocks one. come on EA. Why cant we get this down.

PERIMETER DEFENSE
I feel that this has been changed. this might be a personal thing but pushing L2 doesnt seem to work for me . and once they get infront the above cons tend to get exposed. the player i play as doesntseem to fight as hardas he did in 15 to stay in front

FORCEFIELDS
while better than 15 i feel that annoying forcefield where you can become prime hakeem down low and dance on the OOB line with little to no consequence has returned. and it only goes away if the game feels like being like LOL YOU. or if a animation kicks in that drives you out of bounds happens

REBOUNDING
in the YEAR 2015 i find it HARD TO BELIEVE that rebounding is this broken. its like im watching the ball roll on the ground and GUARDS end up getting the board cause the bigs on my teams in both games modes seems confused in what they are supposed to be doing. why have we regressed?

END GAME AI
Long story short, Down by 3 with 2 seconds left. Lebron went for a Dunk. LOL

My personal Problem.

is it me or are Free throws Broken? like im hitting the shot right and i missed more than i make for some players? this feels 2kish with the meter and etc.

PROS

Shooting

We have come so far from 14. the shooting in this game is the best i seen it in years. the meter is there and it feels so nice that its Easy to "nail" it but not be promised a make. thank you EA. i really thought you would Screw this up. has anyone got higher than 51% in the Pro am?

Passing

this too feels improved. the long pass accuracy has seemed to been toned down. so there more bad passes being popped out. no more Games of "Football" the new pass styles are also improved. i love them and they add a new type of playstyle into games. and on defense the CPU seems to guess passes way more now, and when they gamble and miss they get punished. nice.

Players taking over

i loved that down the end of a blowout lebron started trying to will his team back into the game. im not sure if this was intentional or is part of the IQ. but it felt like i was actually watching a LEbron game.

Pick and rolls
i feel that these are improved alot, the defender actually was fighting with the Screener to stop him from setting the pick. and the AI overall play it better than they did last year. so its not like a automatic score like it was last year

Steals being toned down?
not the whole Guess the pass thing, but like actually ripping someone seems ot be toned down alot. last year i could rip someone for day. not im only getting like 1 per game. this is good. one of my fears were that in a park situation, it be Rip Central. Espcally since thats how LUT was.

PRO AM

its like you guys took all the park complaints and made a near perfect game mode. there some things that you guys need to fix. (which i make a topic for) but so far im having a ball. Way more fun than 2k

Overall this game is getting my money. i just hope that this game IMPROVES instead of goes down in quality. Good job so far EA

First off I am not an expert on NBA basketball. So, hard core sim folks are gonna maybe dislike something I do not notice.

The demo is really fun and I likethe game. The shooting is way cooler than last year in how it works. Some say it is too easy but maybe there is a dificulty or slider that can tone it down if that bugs you.

The camera angle to me (one the demo just uses by default) is awesome. I actually really like it.

My favorite part is all the off ball movement and screens. It seems slightly more relistic in that I can hit jumpers and do not have to always score at the basket. I also like that you can not just force your way inside and always make it. Missed contested shots at the hoop are way improved from 15.

To me it looks and sounds great. Commentary gets old but that happens in all sports games for me. The other sounds are good enough, I can turn commentary low and have it just there as background or off and just listen to the arena sounds and stuff. (I assume in the retail we can tune audio like in all other EA Sports games).

All and all my favorite basketball video game to date. It just is fun to play, which for me is why I buy games.

I do not have PSN subscription so can not comment on playing online.
