You have to let the game finish installing before you can go past that screen.

So far after playing a bunch of pro am games the only positive I can say about this game is the gameface is great, It looks just like me and I love seeing myself in a video game.I play center and I just don't like the gameplay. The rebounding is terrible and I still can't figure out how to box out or it just doesn't work right. On offense my guy always posts up by himself when I'm just trying to move around and get open. I hate how easy it is to shoot and finish layups/dunks on this game, every one in pro am is a combo of curry and lebron and these are guys with low 74-78 overall players I would hate to see how they play when they are in the 90s. Pro am games just feel too short to me, I guess I just couldn't ever get into that whole playing to 21 stuff I just want full 4 quarter games.I wan't to like this game and at times it can be fun but this game is just so far behind in a lot of areas I can't see myself buying it. I will continue to play the demo until the 25th, hopefully it gets better soon.

(A) How does one actually run a fast break? The speed of the ball handler needs to have the ability to speed up. The CPU is able to run beautiful fast break speeds, but I'm having difficulties making my ball handler sprint (even if I hold down the sprint button). It's simply not as quick as it should be. I have done fast breaks, but not exactly sure how to consistently execute them.

(B) How do you determine what type of shot you want to take down in the paint? As it stands, there is only one shot button for everything. It's as if the computer dictates what type of shot (hook shot, etc.) your virtual player takes.

(C) How do you do post up moves after you click the R3 button?

(D) How do you jump for a rebound? There is a delay when I hit the triangle button on my DS4 (dualshock 4 controller).

(E) How do I box out?

(F) How do I call for a screen/pick and roll from a specific player? It seems kind of random at the moment.

(G) Where is the control manual?

(H) What are the EXACT controls (PS4) to stay in front of your man?

A: the AI defense gets back well but it's a matter of finding your outlets and look ahead passes. There's not a specific way to do it, as it's extremely situational. Probably not as realistic as it should be.

B: Experiment with using triangle/Y as a shot button and see if you get more variety and control. Oddly, it's also a shoot button this year, which I'm not a huge fan of.

C: It's a combination of right trigger and rolling the right stick or tapping the shoot button instead of holding it. Learn live helps here somewhat, but you can also play 1 on 1 with a post player and just work on moves.

D+E: there is somewhat of a delay when rebounding. You can box out by getting between your man and the rim and holding left trigger. From here, tapping the rebound button as the ball comes off the rim is usually successful.

F: You can chose your pick setter the same way you choose a player to pass to via the left stick. Look for the white circle under their feet.

G: Control manual is in the how to play menu

H: Hold L2/Left trigger to play intense defense. From there, it's all left stick

The games controls feel good, and some of the players look ok, but some others look horrible. the presentation is good, but Rose sounds like a robot when doing the half time show.

I like that finally they don't go into a cutscene to do celebrations as well.

Overall as a 2k fan this game is a good upgrade from previous NBA Live iterations

I don't understand why EA released such a trash demo. A day 1 patch isn't gonna matter because people aren't gonna have the game. This was supposed to be EAs time to shine but they barely even glow with this nonsense. The negatives far outweigh any positives for me.

Been on here lurking since 2009 I just want let everyone on here know you can play physical defense in NBA Live 16 don't hold down the l2 button just move the left stick to wards them as their driving you'll see a lot of contact in the game just figured this out today

For anyone considering the game to play USER v CPU...basically it is the ultimate game killer.

The CPU late game AI...watch them take a 2 ball when 3 down.

Watch them dribble for 8 seconds as the buzzer sounds.

Watch them walk it up and not get a shot off when down 2.

Absolute game killer for offline USER v CPU players.

Honestly can't believe they have left this in again. Forums will be full of new users complaining about this within a week of release.
They need to come up with some settings to tweak under coaching options for late game AI

At it's current state there are no sliders or player ratings that control CPU AI behavior in late game situations or end of QTR situations based on time and score.

So I finished downloading the game. Picked my height/weight/ position and now I'm at the part where I create my guy. The downloading scan beside game face HD has been buffering for 10 minutes . Is this normal ? I'm still waiting to put my face in the game .

I like the hand off pass and the right stick play menu wheel. The demo is geared for online players. I had no intention of putting that much time in pro am but the offline vs cpu gameplay needs slider adjustments.

Have you successfully done a facescan?

my impressions

Pro Am: Feels alot tighter than NBA 2k15s "My Park" . A little bit of a more rewarding experience and its nice that it isnt pay-to-win. The post game/inside game is too easy at times but for the most part, on ball defense is much better here. Movement isn't as janky as MyPark.

Here is something that may help some 2K people who are truly struggling with the feel of the game but want to give it a chance... First play on superstar... and up the contact frequency on both sides cpu and user Ground and air collision... it helped out a lot... I really like a lot of the things they added to the game... Its still not better than 2k but I can honestly say if this was the only game on the market I would buy and see my self enjoying it... The transition animation like transitioning from one move to another is where the game falls short... it creates weird unrealistic interaction between players at times which can take away from the over all feel... Remove some the bad animations increase the player collision and add more fluid animations when players interact and they will have solved their issue... The player's graphics will be what they are.... I think they want their own style of graphics that are quality but to "copy" 2k and I think they have achieved that... I can say as a person who has played every Basketball ever made this is a quality effort... but even with out playing this years 2k16 its not better that than the competitors game from last year.... its different I'd even say in some departments its better but overall not on the same level.

Has anyone else experienced the CPU shenanigans that start to happen when you move up in difficulty? On Pro the game is fairly enjoyable (with tweaked sliders regarding shooting success and foul frequency). Then I moved it up to all star and I wanted to pull my hair out.

Played the Thunder vs Cavs matchup. I'll be honest, I went into it will really low expectations but I actually had a lot of fun. I'm not sure if that's my craving for a basketball game influencing my experience a lot. I still think there is some work to be done such as dunk animations, but overall it was fun. The shot meter is cool and the crowd sounded great, still think I will pass.

Definitely an improvement over last year.

Got to play a game last night and I'll start off by saying it's an slight improvement over Live 15. (Which isn't saying much)

The things I liked...

1) Players faces overall looked really good. Stadiums looked good also.

2) The sound was good also. I've never played Live on surround sound and I must say, it was nice.

3) The dribble hand off is really nice.

4) Foot planting is really good. I didn't notice hardly if any sliding.

What I don't like...

1) The player models. I'm no feeling the player models at all. The body types seem off. Also Live's model have this weird posture going on. Like their back and knees are bent funny. Even when players walk, it doesn't look human.

2) Movements/animations. The movement needs work. Players move really slow. Animations are terrible overall. Let's start off with the speed dribble. It looks terrible and doesn't look human. Just little things like how the players run up and down the court, just looks off. Crossovers and dribble moves don't look great either.

Post play and shots around the basket look like Live is still using animations from the PS2. Jump hooks look terrible. And layups look really bad. Basically movement and animations don't resemble the grace of NBA players. They need to work on transitions in animations and overhaul their player movement/animations period. This is 2015 man!!!!

3) Commentary. Although I like the sound of the crowd and how the overall sound comes through my speakers were nice, the commentary is really weak. Mike Breen and Jeff Van Gundy sounds dry. They don't feed off each other well. There is not enough dialogue during gameplay. And Mike Breen's call of the game is really generic.

The halftime report I'm not a fan of either. Jalen Rose sounds so robotic? He was the wrong guy to get to do halftime, because he sounds robotic in real life. And it's worse in the game. Just terrible. I also don't like their replays. I guess because the animations just flat out sucks.

4) The controls. Very limited. Not a fan of the control layout. Still need to get familiar with playing Live again, so I won't be too critical.

The game I played felt a bit scripted but that was ok with me. I played up until the last 2 minutes of the 4th quarter (Cavs vs Thunder). I was uninspired so I gave the controller to my 14 year old son and left the room. A few minutes later he comes to me and say's "dad I hit a game winner with Westbrook". I'm like "cool go ahead a play some more if you want". He says to me "nah I don't won't to play that garbage". Gotta admit, it was hilarious.

Anyway...I'll try to get into it more this weekend and play pro-am tonight. This game isn't worth $60 though. They have a long way to go. A LONG WAY!!! With an alternative basketball option, I won't be purchasing the game. I appreciate EA giving us a robust demo though. LOL

I play on Superstar...there are definitely shenanigans on the higher levels...but I kind of expect it...(at least the CPU is trying unlike '15, I seriously don't think I lost 1 game to the CPU last year)

I can manage most of it...I just need my teammates to stop letting guys run free and get back in transistion...

It's cost me some games already...
