It's def an improvement. Love the angles and curves of the ball trajectory feels like you have good control over it.

Anyone noticing if CPU is taking shots from multiple areas around the pitch? Outside the 18 for instance?

I can't help but wonder how many of the people who get in these demo threads and explain why they're so disappointed and won't be buying the game actually follow through on that? 25%?

On another note, I thought the demo played well. Still need to dive a little deeper, but it shows improvement and it's still the best option available in terms of soccer games. Looking forward to the 22nd.

Fifa seems to be much better than PES this in regards of gameplay but it's still not the football I'm expecting. I guess I'll skip both of them games. NBA 2K is still state of the art when it comes to individualty of players and almost perfect simulation of sport.
Yeah I don't know what is going on here. The same control stick method last year which could bring one in around the 6 box but bend it realistically toward the penalty spot or kick it to the spot but swing it to the 6, it's not doing it much at all.

I have watched replays and the ball tracks straight.

Same on FK's. I had a nice opportunity with aubameyang last night from just outside of the box and instead of it bending from my start point the ball tracked on an angle, straight.

It's like this \ instead of )

goldfinger35 from Evo-Web sitehave modded the database of FIFA 16 Demo and here are his first impressions (15 min halves, Legendary):

Positive
-Gameplay is slower. I even switched to normal speed (in previous fifas I used slow).
-Agility of players was toned down. They have more weight.
-Tackling is better
-Midfielders intercept more passes
-First touch is better
-AI pressures more
-AI play better defending, covering empty space and blocking your wingers
-If you outrun AI player, he will try to foul you (finally!)
-There are more fouls (I average 10 per match)

Negative
-Shooting is weird sometimes. Some shots (especially volleys) fly like cannonballs
-Headers are overpowered
-Too many shots hit the posts (2 per match)
-Corners are again too easy to defend/too easy to score. Also, defenders are still out of position (in attack)
-Night lighting is dull
-I have won a penalty but even after ten replays I didn’t find out why
-My players sometimes make the no-look pass

Yes, especially if the player has the "Takes long shots" attribute.

If you play against Dortmund you'll most likely see Mkhitaryan take some shots from outside the box.

Anyone else finding that the difficulty levels higher than Pro don't feel right?

I had nothing but enthusiasm for this demo when playing at Pro difficulty, but since moving up to World Class, and also trying Legendary, it's really pissing me off. Pretty much all my games on the higher settings end in 0-0 draws with the CPU dominating possession 60-40 but not doing much with the ball, while it's near impossible to get the ball from them.

And while I'm happy that the backline defending is now solid after last year's fiasco, I'm still disappointed with how unhelpful my defenders can be at times. They still stand around too much for my liking and it drives me nuts when they're with a couple feet of a dribbler and don't react on their own. This is all exacerbated by imo contain and teammate contain being worthless on the higher diff settings.

Overall, there's a lot to love with this demo but I'm seeing the rough edges now. I'm looking forward to the full release but it'll be interesting to see how EA refines and tweaks the demo code.

This is how I feel as well coupled with the short demo time, playing WC or Legendary is really frustrating as you watch your defenders never play defence the same way the CPU does. I also still hate this tactical defending FIFA has, never been a fan because it feels like you are truly not in control of your defenders. Legendary defending is more tolerable but it feels like something is missing.

Overall, I am not enjoying the demo as much as everyone else but this doesn't mean I think it is bad just the short demo time doesn't do it enough justice for me to judge it properly and play how I want to play; I still look forward to the full release.

Use the left stick to put a curve on the ball.

Dare i say it?

I like Fifa 16 demo better than PES 2016 demo...

First off the player models shorts are more accurate in Fifa 16

AND..YES this does make a difference because it make players running look better and more current.

PES 2016 has this very Winning Eleven 6 Vibe to it...which is GREAT for game play but NOT animation continuity...

My major complaint with Fifa is that it has to slow down...Luckily a weird slider set ive working amazingly fixes this

That said theyve added needed acceleration animations in transitions of players speeding up to the ball and defender so that it doesnt look like its a michael jackson in smooth criminal as much as last year...

tried both xbox one and ps4 demos...

No differences But the ps4 feels weighted when controlling it and xbxo one feels like its lighter but gives it a nice type of freedom as lob passes seem to feel better executed on Xbox one...

Goalies also animate great this year. They feel more like they arent as stagnant as in years past.

Seems like EVERY EA title is about POLISH this year

Madden is better animated and smoother
Now fifa is animated better and smoother
With NHL and NBA Live up next we might be in for a VERY solid line up of sports titles from EASports.

the likes of which we probably havent seen since the PS2/Xbox and Gamecube days to be completely honest.

Switch to Legacy defending. I've never liked tactical.

I have to agree with this. The more i play the less enamored I am with it. Played Seattle sounders on world class and they had 92% pass percentage. This was with pass error turned up to 65 i think for computer, guess it will have to go way up.

My midfield doesn't get in the way of their passes and they don't get in the way of mine either. I think this is the biggest issue that sliders guys will try to fix. Right now even in the final third I seem to have open passes a lot of the time. I do not have any difficulty passing all the way down the field every time.

The game has a good base but NEEDS slider work for sure. I am kind of surprised by some of the reactions here. Very positive when there are some big issues with the game. Yes they have improved pace and defensive "shape" but not getting what I want from it simulation wise.

Also do the player models feel super lanky?? I feel like a bean pole running around out there. Anyway just some more thoughts, seeing if anyone else has noticed some of the negatives (I have had a few posts before this pointing out all the great things it is doing this year).

Funny that you mentioned the shorts I had a friend comment on that yesterday saying how they look better than PES pajama shorts look. And while we are on aesthetics, it is about time FIFA does something with their Goalkeeper gloves as they don't fit the rest of the games graphics; they look too pixelated and jarring compared to the rest of the kits. I actually can't believe PES has surpassed them on it as they were once known to have those ridiculous clown gloves/oven mitts for too long haha.

After so many years I really don't understand why there isn't a "Teammate Pressure" button for Tactical Defending controls. I don't want my AI controlled defender to just contain. I want him to pressure the ball carrier. Either I am stupid and I don't see the option (besides switching to Legacy Defending) or the EA devs are the most incapable devs in the gaming industry.
I'll post my impressions of the demo later, testing the game with 15min halves.

I only had time to play one match last night, so I can't really give much of an impression of the game, but...
THE YAYA TOURE SONG IS IN!!!

Tried this morning, and sadly, the DM still pushes up way too far. I tried pushing him back in the formation as far as he would go while still being a CDM, and he would still make too many forward runs for my liking.

It's not perfect, but I did find a decent solution. Play your DM as a sweeper (SW), and set him to "join in attack". This keeps him back protecting the back four (a little too close, but eh), and he'll still move forward to help in attack, but not too much.

Not an ideal solution, but it has some potential to be a decent one for now.

Other than that, player instructions seem to work well. I set both my right and left midfielders to stay wide, and come short for passes, and they hugged the touchline for the most part, and were always there to help in build up play and not running behind looking for passes.

I might start a thread just for discussing breaking down tactics, formations, and instructions in the demo. Bit of a warm up for a hopeful full on return to custom team tactics this year.

After playing the demo more last night, I've noticed the CPU likes to shoot and has scored from long range against me at least once in the last few matches I've played. Anyone else notice this?

# 258 fab4 @ 09/09/15 12:04 PM
i played the demo for 5 mins. i shot on the goal - keeper did not catch the ball, dropped it.
And then he just starred at the ball for 1 sec and then he decided to get it..aha okay....

then my opponent made a goal and i watched the replay, my keeper came out without any sense of where his goal is. so he decided to leave most of the goal open ... WTF

-> DELETED

Yeah it does happen with players you expect to shoot, I had Ibrahimovic score a ridiculous long range curler against me.

yeah I'm not sure how anyone can play FIFA with tactical defending to be honest.. it's horrible imo

Yeah I'm usually more of PES guy so for me what I do to make the FIFA controls like PES is I put the controls on alternate and switch to legacy defending and turn analog sprint off. It plays more like PES defending this way to me... doing this you can pressure with x and secondary press with square just like you do in PES

is this with playing full manual as well?
