it took me about 25 - 35 minutes to download FIFA 16 on PS4 by putting it in rest mode

Another thing I enjoy, headers toward the goal look and feel more realistic.

I'm downloading FIFA demo now

I just started downloading the demo 5 - 10 minutes ago and tip I read earlier in this thread put the PS4 in rest mode it downloads a lot faster. it really does.. as I just turned my PS4 back on and it at 90% downloaded already saying 2 minutes left. wow..

nice tip

I'm hoping this is the ticket as I've been DL for like 2 hours and still have 14 to go LOL??????

Just put it into rest mode so I'll see what's up in 20 minutes or so....

I love the wider view on the broadcast camera, beautiful looking game from that angle

Is anyone else annoyed that they mapped Flashy passes to the L2 button now?

As a habit I always held L2 when slowly passing the ball up the field, have to unlearn that now. Not only that but I use skilled dribbling a lot too, but its too easy to accidentally do a flashy pass after using L2+R2.

The collision system is also MUCH MUCH better. One of my biggest problems with '15 was how wonky the collisions were. Players would go flying unrealistically with minor shoulder tackles with didn't allow you to ride challenges like you can in real life.
Hmm. Haven't noticed it so far. Maybe because game is so much smoother when running with the ball and trying to turn or cutback. I'll try your suggestion though

I mean teams pass the ball backwards and flip the pitch.

Please let custom tactics work.

Also, playing with a headset on... the sounds/crowd are amazing.

This.

Also precision dribble is gone.

So is quick stop with nothing but LB, you can do the RT version but its more awkward, less responsive than last years LB version.

As for flair pass, you would have "loved" the beta...flair passes went 2 feet no matter how much you powered them up. Making it pretty much a give away the ball controller input.

Finally got to play the demo. Played 3 games so far. Things I have noticed:

- The main thing for me is that passing actually matters. Just can't ping pong your way up the pitch. Got to be a bit more methodical, if that makes sense.

- Loving the gameplay overall.

- I like the pace of the game a lot, but the only qualm I had was that I had a clear path to the net with Aubameyang (95 pace), but Stranzl (53 pace) from M'Gladbach caught me from behind and took the ball from me. I mean there has to be some disparity in pace, even though I am enjoying the game a lot at the pace it is.

- AI/CPU defending has definitely improved. Defenders closing in on you when you receive a pass instead of standing around you giving you space to make a move. Also, opposing CPU defenders reading the pass and making interceptions.

- Someone mentioned earlier about your AI teammates making runs on offense. It's awesome. Within the first minute of my first game, I see Ronaldo running up the left wing and I send him a through ball and got a nice wide open shot on net in the 2nd or 3rd minute of the game. In the past, when the AI teammate makes a run, they had a tendency to stop making the run once you passed to them. So that was nice to see.

- Also noticed the pass/shot meter has been tweaked. My first pass and shot attempts were very weak, as I'm used to the FIFA 15 meter where it was very sensitive and you could very easily send it flying. Now you can put a little more on and hold the button a little longer without worrying about too much power behind it.

Precision dribbling is gone!?

It's like the only thing I ever used for dribbling purposes.

+can not stress enough how much the player models have improved, really adds to the game
+movement feels better, more realistic...can't put my finger on exactly what it is but go back and play 15 and feel the difference

-pro camera frame rate still drops way too low
-still no option to completely remove all HUD/indicators

Pes player, will be buying Fifa this year over pes for the first time in probably 6 years.

Played a few games of the pc demo now. It's basically exactly the same as the ps4 version. Didn't notice a difference. I think the gameplay is excellent. The only things that can be tweaked are the gk parrying a bit too much and the cpu pass accuracy is a bit too good on world class. I'm pretty sure the low stamina is just for the demo, so I'm not worried about that. The time extender mod for pc is great too.

I'm finding the same thing. Giving the ball away plenty through flashy passes at the moment.

The 4 minutes just ruins it for me. It forces me to have to play football the completely wrong way knowing I have to be in a rush to score and get the ball back. I get into bad habits for when I actually get the game. I may have to download the PC demo just so I can use the time adjuster.

Overall though the game seems much improved. Once Matt and Orion do their thing with the sliders and Krebstar unlocks the tactics code (hopefully), were in for a darn good game. If all goes well I could easily see this game not leaving my PS4 or XBOX One (haven't decided yet).

Played around with custom tactics again tonight and saw some great things. Overall, it's pretty clear that they're working and that teams respond to the settings that are input.

The best part? The formations, and the player instructions really do affect how the tactics work.

If you set it up for the AI to play long ball with a 4-5-1, they'll play differently than if they're in a 4-3-3. Same for if you want them to play possession. Different formations have different instructions available (for example, in 4-3-3 you can set all three forwards to "get behind" for their runs, thus creating more long balls forward), so a team with the same tactic may not play the same as a team with the same tactic and a different formation.

They certainly don't seem to be on the level of detail that PES offers, but still, this is an improvement from last year.

Hot damn, I'm excited.

Just noticed that Leroux has her tattoos. And I've now played at least 20 matches with the two women's teams. I can't explain it, but they play better. There animations are amazing. Some of them run goofy because they sped up their animations. I really wish they added more teams for a full on tournament mode now. Only have 12 teams really sucks.
