No NBA Player or Roster Editing in NBA Live 16 Confirmed

EA Sports has confirmed on their official Facebook page that NBA Live 16 will not feature NBA player or roster editing. That means, no accessory changes, no player rating adjustments, no changing jersey numbers, etc...

Maybe it gets patched in later? Maybe not, but this is not a good sign.

This is a good point. If the game plays well on the court and there are frequent updates to reflect roster movements and play progression/regression then I think most people can deal with the omission, however if roster updates are inconsistent then this could be a big miss.

Stuff like this is the reason why I dont even consider buying Live at this point. Thats sucks because I actually like alot of things about how Live played on court. Its the off court stuff that keeps it from being a contender for my money.

I've said in every Live thread that I've posted in, that I have no interest in buying this game this year.

But WOW, I feel so bad for you guys that were riding that hype train man. This really sucks. They were absolutely rolling, to the point where I was telling someone yesterday that this game may be back to respectability in 17.

NO editing? That's something that's been in these games for years. It's even a staple of the sports genre, as we're seeing from you guys replies here.

The only word I can think of is bogus. Sorry guys.

That's pretty much a deal-breaker for me. Am still going to try Live Run, but customization is half the battle IMO.

This is a big downer for me. I am glad we can choose two basketball games, instead of one. Imagine if EA had exclusive license over NBA games (like NFL, Madden)? I am glad to see the improvements and that's noted by 2K giving them competition. Roster and player editing is a no-brainer.

Scale tips in the "other" basketball games favor this season. NBA Live is on track 17 should be dope!

So I have to rely on messed up Synergy again ? That is why I voted a 3 for my hype level yesterday, I knew something was up. Now my hype level is a 1. Synergy killed the fun and excitement of Live 15 last year.

What confuses me is we have the ability to fully edit our created players in Live 16, BUT they say its hard to put player editing back in the game, how does that make sense?

EA is the laziest company in video games. I was hyped for this game but now i won't even buy it. How in 2015 can i not edit players in a sports game?!?! I wish everybody at EA would lose there damn job and start completely new. It's obvious that EA doesn't care about making good games, they just wanna make it look pretty and sell copies. I literally hate EA.

You guys still don't get what Synergy really is. You're never gonna get roster editing, as long as its in place. Keep falling in love with the buzzwords EA and the devs keep feeding you: "made fresh daily," "player playing to their true to life stats," etc.. and youll never see the big picture.

Synergy is a mask. Start thinking outside the box... Synergy is EAs safety net. Shall I explain further? 23 you and I talked about this before.

To be fair to other companies this editing situation is an EA issue, other sports games have editing in their game and game modes.

Dude, slow down. It's not about any of these Dev teams being lazy, there are time constraints that they have to adhere to. Same with the other NBA game, it's hard work making a game in a 9 month development cycle.

Because that's what people mostly play now a days . I'm not making excuses for them but online play is a priority . You got famous you tubers and twitters (tweeters) considering the game because of the pro am. What if they left off pro am and just added editing options. Who the hell would buy the game outside of a few.

Now that I agree with, back in my day I was the "myplayer" when I went to an actual gym to play ball, or joined a rec league, never really enjoyed playing with a character that's supposed to be me in a video game, but its popular now got to live with it.

It's not really any different from you discussing issues in the manner that you do in the other forum....did you think the grass was that green over here that issues weren't brought up? This is something the guys that have been playing the previous installments have had to deal with going on 3 years now....it needs to be spoken on.

I think Rafael said it best. Updated rosters in themselves are only half the battle. Even if Synergy picks it up this year and updates on time there are many other aspects tied to it as far as playing the way you want to play. You look at how many uploads there are on games with sharing features....I don't think that it's so much of a niche thing as some think...a lot of guys, even casuals make tweaks.
