Had some mixed results in my last three tournaments. At Banff, it came down to the last hole. I managed to pull out a birdie on the 18th which put me into a tie for the lead, but then Ryan Moore made birdie on 18 to win the tournament one stroke ahead. It would be fantastic if this context was actually addressed in game, perhaps even watch Moore play the 18th to see if it goes to a playoff or what have you.

Played really good golf at the Spring Invitational and won quite handily (Wolf Creek). First major win. Unfortunately I followed that up with a really poor performance at the TPC Boston, going +9 after the first two rounds and missing the cut. I don't really know why but I really struggled on that course; the gusty blowing wind certainly didn't help. Turns out this game can be unforgiving at times.

Wish they had even match play or skins even for unranked matches.

So I played my first US Open in career mode post update 1.09. It was played at Oakmont, so I was already loving the fact that rotating majors have returned.

I also love how crazy tough that course is. The greens are a challenge, but I never feel they are unfair. It's so difficult to stick any shots close to the pin. I basically consider pars to be like birdies when I'm playing that course.

Anyway, I finished the tournament +8. Now, at first glance, you'd think I finished back of the pack. Not the case. I ended up finishing in 7th place, 6 shots behind the winner, Francesco Molinari. The fact that the AI scores were pretty much in line with the difficulty of a US Open at Oakmont was impressive.

I have advanced now to The Open Championship, and it will be contested at Royal Troon. Have I mentioned how glad I am that rotating majors are back?

I picked up TGC when it was on that flash sale for $4. I am enjoying TGC but would it be worth it to also pick up RM PGA as well? Didn't know how well they compared to each other.

I have both games...they are hard to compare, really. TGC has a ton of courses to play, which is it's biggest draw. While, in my opinion, RMPGAT has better graphics and gameplay. That said, RMPGAT's career mode is pretty shallow and can get stale after a while.

You can't go wrong having both. That said, I do play RMPGAT a lot more than TGC...the gameplay is just that much better.

Been playing alot lately, and I am terrible. Anyway, anyone have any issues getting stuck in bunkers completely unable to get out because the ground in front of you is too high.

I just got stuck in the bunker at Chambers Bay hole 4. I was in there for 5 shots. Couldn't get up the hill. Just like real life...............

Try hitting a flop shot. The loft put on a flop shot should be enough to get out of almost any bunker in the game, except some of the ones at Troon or St. Andrew's.

I just picked this up on eBay for $20. Is there an online golf club like in...well...the Golf Club? I'd like to eventually play a tournament against others here at OS.

Enjoying the game thus far, but had a question (didn't see a question thread):

How come my pro career starts me off on hole 6, and says I only have 6 holes remaining in the round? Is there a way to play entire rounds in your career?

You have to go into the settings and change it to full rounds I believe.

If I could improve my putting, I would be excellent at this game.

What swing mechanic are you all using?

I still use analog despite all the positives I've read about 3 click.

First time I've used 3-click in a game other than Hot Shots Golf in a long time. I may go back to Analog, but if I do, I at least need to be able to zoom in and see where I'm aiming.

Arcade allowed me to, but when I tried the other analog setting, I couldn't zoom in on any shots. Maybe the game was acting weird?

You can set a custom difficulty where you choose which swing type as well as which options you want on and off

Have you given playing without the zoom a fair shot?

I honestly was very much against it but gave it a shot and found it to find myself thinking far more about each shot (and thus, far more enjoyable for me).

It actually kind of brought me back to the game for a bit after I abandoned it for while. The only thing I don't like is not being able to know how the green sloaps on my approaches.

I have not, to be honest. I understand the idea behind it, but I guess just hard to accept in a video game. Maybe I'll try it again, although 3-click with the right settings is a good challenge.
