Didn't play the early access. Watched a ton of this thanks to Twitch. It saved me $50 (for now). I will revisit when they release more courses.

The fact that someone just posted there is no playoff, you automatically win in case of a tie, was the tipping point for me. Presentation looks okay, commentary could be better (I still miss feherty), the over the top celebrations, small course count, small golfer list, the ability to virtually be center of fairway every drive on Tour Mode....these all led me to canceling my preorder (among other game reasons).

THIS IS NHL 15 ALL OVER AGAIN!!!!!

I'm not sure if it's too high of expectations or just being really picky.

Who knows, maybe the PS4 version will have a different look. Will find out on Tuesday.

Also curious about the day one update as well and what will be in it (Bug fixes? New courses?).

Ready to tee it up on PS4!

Day one update? Has this been confirmed buy EA? Or are speculating?

It is not a scoring bug. They just have not built out the playoff scenarios for each course in case of a tie.

Watching a twitch stream right now of a guy playing online with what looks to be tour settings at TPC Boston and for some reason it looks a whole lot better than I've seen on the videos and stream from EA. Probably the best iv'e seen so far this is getting me a lot more excited for Tuesday. My Impressions are:

1. First of all the sound of the driver isn't that thud anymore its actually a ping this time which is nice. Game sounds good when its quiet with no commentary.

2. No obnoxious celebrations online which is always nice.

3. Rory's swing is spot on with his signature finish.

4. TPC Boston looks gorgeous. I notice better textures and the different cuts in the fairway, fringe. and rough. Maybe because of the style of course it is though compared to a links style?

5. Online play looks smooth and competitive. I don't typically play sports games online for some reason I just enjoy the career modes the most, but I will definitely be playing the one I think. Unless guys start going -20 every round like that other golf game lol so ridiculous. I'll be on PS4 @Next1inYoDome

Can't wait to get my hands on it Tuesday I'm jealous of everyone playing right now at least Playstation runs at that 1080p haha

After playing the trial for a few hours, here's my take on some of the claims EA has made about it's own game over the past few months and what the reality actually is:

"Golf without limits". Reality is you are limited to only 8 real courses and 12 real golfers. Limited online features. Limited player customization.

"Next generation of golf". Reality is that the graphics look like this game is on the 360/PS3 instead of the One/PS4. Trees and long grass look terrible.

"Golf reimagined". Gameplay is pretty much the same as it was in the Tiger Woods games. Controls are very basic. Tiger '09 had more features and customization than this game does.

"No load times". Notice how after you finish each hole when it shows you the leaderboard, you are unable to skip to the next hole right away. This is when the next hole is being loaded...

"Explore the course". You are teleported to each shot and can't walk around the course. And you never actually get to explore the course since it's so easy to hit the ball straight.

Overall, this game is just a stripped down version of the Tiger Woods series with marginally better graphics. The game feels unfinished and rushed which is absurd considering they had over 2 years to develop it. Don't let EA's gimmicks and marketing get in the way of the reality that this game is a huge disappointment.

I played two rounds with 3 friends online tonight and it was a lot of fun. Tour pro difficulty

Very competitive. No lag. Lots of fun. I was on the fence but, I think this game is a buy for me.

OK, so I will preface by saying I have played golf video games for close to 30 years, but am not a "hardcore" golf gamer.

That being said, one of my favorite games of all time is PGA Tour II on Sega Genesis and I do own The Golf Club but rarely play.

I have EA Early Access so fired up Rory for about 4 hours earlier today which I streamed on Twitch.

Once I got the settings maxed out to the hardest difficulty, turned on "Zoom" (I have no idea why that's not the default setting), and changed the camera angle, I found it more playable.

First impressions? This game is a pretty big disappointment. The create a player customization is a joke, the # of courses and golfers also laughable. I spent most of my time playing career mode.

The presentation and graphics I actually liked (although there were some random appearances and disappearances of objects such as people and squirels, etc.

This game is going to get old fast. It's basically EA's version of NHL 15 but for Golf. Limited features and customization with sub-par (pun intended) gameplay. You would have to be physically disabled or impaired (I was on Oxy when I played) to hit the ball anywhere but straight. The green ball in the bottom middle of the screen is annoying and unnecessary.

Sorry to burst people's bubbles, but it's the truth. This game is a 6.5/10 on a good day. I played The Golf Club immediately after and prefer it. It's almost hard to believe EA published yet another half complete sports game, but then again, they have no shame.

If you are desperate for a golf game and The Golf Club can't give you the fix, then I suppose you may enjoy this...for awhile, especially if you like playing with friends online. But in a few weeks when the Fall lineup starts coming out, this will all but be forgotten.

But it is something that has been the same in several iterations now. I can see where "started from scratch" being the reason good things from last year are gone is a tough pill to swallow when specific legacy type issues are still there; or just happen to coincidentally be the same.

Career mode as presented now is just really thin; I think that is a fair word for it until more is seen; with the limited courses, apparently limited/zero meaningful stat tracking, hit and miss on presentation of a "career" feel, and annoying legacy issues. I mean there isn't a career calendar so your only option is the next event with no idea how many/what tournaments/courses actually make up a career.

# 292 Zalf @ 07/10/15 04:27 AM
Like others I am doing direct comparisons with this and "that other golf game" and right now the other one is just better. I am hoping to find that something extra but tour career isn't looking like it will do it.

Just about every criticism I'm reading is true but yet I still had to tear myself away last night to get some sleep. The game is a lot of fun despite all the issues people have mentioned.

I'd buy it if I wasn't so broke from my wedding. Maybe a good deal on it on Amazon on their big sale day will be my ticket.

I have play fews hours with the game and here is my observations.

1. The graphics are amazing, I would give almost 10/10
2. I would like the option to play simply a round of golf without the crowds and tournament settings, and to delete the non real courses in the Library.
3. Need more game type, than match play, stroke play......
4. Need obviously more golfers and more real courses... Mickelson, Watson, why not one player from LPGA, SPGA...
5. To be able to select the winds N, S, E, W... is a bit strange, why not giving us the winds from the location as previous games.
6.The game must be as customizable as possible, selection of tees to play for each players.. etc etc
7. Clouds type, Rain, etc etc must be added.
8. Be able to edit the time of the years, fall, summer...would be nice

Not having a playoff or the ability to play with another player during an event kind of sucks. This was something EA has overlooked now for a decade. It boggles my mind how you can have a "Career Mode" but have that glaring of a hole. I also would like to see the intensity in difference between a Thursday and Sunday round or one where I am in the lead compared to 10 back on a Sunday. It would help make it more realistic.

Just think of the positive, when you make a putt your character turns into Happy Gilmore and celebrates.

what tournaments have been found in season mode?

You know I'm a bit puzzled seeing all these comments about how amazing the graphics are. Yes they are pretty good but I'm not blown away and in something areas the graphics look downright Xbox 360'ish
