By hiding the event calender it allows EA to hide from us the courses they aren't including in the game @ launch and therefore will be required to purchase to play during the season.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but this is the first EA Golf game during the EA Access window, so if they show the EA Access subscribers during the Access period which tournaments aren't included and have to be paid for, then there are going to be a bunch of pissed off consumers who cancel their preorders. In a perfect world it would be great if EA Sports worked out deals with each course that they will simply pay them a portion of the DLC royalties and not have to fork over, let's say $100k per course each year to clubs like Riviera, Kiawah, etc.

I don't mind paying another $40 for 15 courses if that's what it ends up costing. Especially if the game is released every other year. In that case i will be spending about the same amount anyway.
The only thing is they already told us what courses are in the game, so we already know what we'd have to pay for: anything they put out not among the 9 already announced

True, but wouldn't you be pretty annoyed if you found out you get TPC Boston and Bay Hill instead of Bethpage Black, Oakmont, Kiaway, etc. This is all conjecture assuming my theory is correct, but i think they may have purposely held back some courses because they know a large portion of the user base is willing to pay for them. Hardly anyone is going to pay to have access to Bay Hill, Scottsdale, St. Andrews since those courses have pretty much been staples in every game since the series started.

OB is still OB....they said that won't change but it would be nice if there were a way to see a hazard or OB stake/line letting us know it was OB....

oh I think you're entirely correct, I just don't think it's a secret. We know darn well we'll be buying the good courses. In a way, this might be genius, since the game as is will make us so excited to have them available we'll actually be happy to buy courses which we should get for the $60 we already paid. It's like PSLs for tickets. We've paid $60 for the right to pay more down the line.

Pretty sure if you keep it you won't have to install the game. I wouldn't delete it, might save you 20 minutes and couldn't hurt.

Golf without limits? Then why are there double par stroke limits on each hole?

Is this true??? That has to be a setting-specific limitation...

Pretty sure it's true. I've run into it a couple times.

If this is true even on Tour mode, that's sort of depressing....not that it happens all that often, but it does happen, and it's just sort of ridiculous since it's a definite part of the game that on any given hole, you might get a 9. It happens, even on the tour. Ask anyone that played at Shinnecock in 2004....

Same here once. Have not seen it offline or in Career. Not sure what this obsession with "speed" playing the game, but I hate this as well as no true turn based H2H online play. Baffling design decisions.

Anyone else feel that the game is very stripped down? Is that due to it still being on EA Access, or is this what we can expect from the full game?

It's the full game. EA access early trials aren't smaller versions

I think that's the general consensus. I was pretty bummed at first but after giving it an honest chance, I wanted more after my ten hours. 60 may be too much for some people with limited features, but the diehard fans will still pay. I love EASHL in the nhl series and still bought it even tho that mode was left out. Shame on me

Thanks for the info, that's a real bummer. But, for what it is, the game isn't too bad and I've enjoyed how the game plays. My only complaint with the gameplay mechanics would be the un-sensitivity of the analog stick. I wish there would be greater sensitivity on the stick or more of a penalty for missing that straight back and forward swing.

Should this be an iterative game, I think a good foundation has been laid. They got the most important aspect (the game play) mostly correct. Their focus in the next edition should be on deepening the career mode, by adding more events (and thus more courses), qualifications for those events, and perhaps make use of a money list whereby you get money for placing in events and that money allows you to buy fancy apparel and clubs that boost stats with higher value items being more valuable.
