This has been the biggest issue with penalties since basically Madden 06. It takes an animation triggering for them to happen. It seems logical in it's simplest form. Penalty happens, watch the replay, see penalty. But PI penalties never happened because it basically took hitsticking a receiver right before the ball got there for it to be called.

Holding and false starts are by far the two most commonly called penalties and it takes being triggered for both of them to be called. As the user, if you never use fake snap, you have absolutely no chance of ever being hit with a false start. And as for the holding, I'm sure people will disagree but, to me, it takes some the charm away of the phantom holding call and I'd honestly just see it randomly called rather than needing an animation for it to be triggered.

I'm all for these animations as long as it has potential to happen outside of them as well. The way I look at it, every single one of these 2-man interactions should have some chance of PI being called both ways. It doesn't have to be completely blatant or obvious, these are NFL refs we're talking about. I don't know how it will turn out but the feeling I get is that there will be five or so PI animations that always result in an incompletion and PI call and outside of those it won't ever be called unless you hitstick a receiver like before.

Is it too early to talk about the 32 team control? I mean, that's all it takes for me at this point. I believe I speak for huge audience on here. It's a game-breaker in my opinion...

I'm tripping about this attention to MUT over the past couple of years and growing. The love this mode gets scares me. SMH...

ahlobert32 ALMOST made me feel guilty for laying the smackdown on Madden in comparison to other sports games. While it's universally accepted that Madden hasn't earned the "benefit of the doubt" status, other sports games seemed go under radar. If Madden had that server issue like 2K15...whew!

Forgive me if I'm mistaken, but doesn't offline Connected Franchise already offer 32-character game saves, so you can create 32 head coaches and have 32-team control?

Good so far

It's beyond extremely tedious to do so. A simple push of a button should suffice.

Not the type workaround most are looking for. Similar to what Madden 12 and what Madden version before the PS3 era had on editing other teams and players during your Franchise.

I need to see a bit more before committing $65 this year.

Hopefully the end of Robo-QB! And more gameplay sliders.

Regarding the animations for penalties..isn't that kinda how it is in real life? I mean when do you ever see a false start if there is no fake snap? Other than crowd noise which the Tiburon team has yet to implement from the NCAA series..that's a whole bother can of worms there. Aside from pass interference being called by just contact before the catch I can't see any other penalty without an animation for it. This isn't basketball where a foul can be called without actual contact where the refs get it wrong..well non other than pi. Holding needs a hold. False start needs a lineman to move on the wrong count. If you played basketball and got called for intentional foul but all you did was go for the steal how would that look?

I can assure you there will be no phantom calls in Madden because of the tournament crowd. Otherwise we would already have bad snaps, weather really and I mean really affecting gameplay not just a slip and slide here and there but actual have to ground and pound because the wind is affecting passes or the receivers can't see well down field for deep passes. They would slaughter the game when the championship match is decided by a phantom facemask or hold. Me I'm all for those tangibles because if they(the tournament guys) want them out they would have to essentially play with penalties off. If it was me playing a sports game against other guys to see who is the best in the country and we played with penalties off even if I won it would feel like rookie crap. Maybe then they would evolve their play styles to be better Sim because that would feel like a handicap win

MADDEN NEEDS TO BRING COMMUNITY GAME MODE BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or at least team play I Hardly play madden 15 cuz they dropped community game mode. Madden 25 was the shiiit because of it. Don't even know why they would get rid of it.

keep in mind these are amazon features, nothing to freak out about on either side.
not everything new is seen here and theres no gameplay except for the 4 catches in the cover reveal. hoping there are far more improvements to cfm tho

As long as they provide some type of way to edit draft classes. I'm good.

I feel you, it should be in the game, I just dont wanna lose games cause the CPU decided to be random without me havin a chance to do somethin about it.
I could see it being kind of a penalty for quick-snapping. Hitting X too much or too quickly to snap the ball could cause the botched snap.

Why can't they just bring out an updated NFL Head Coach game. All these gameplay improvements are fine and dandy, but coach mode players need some love.
Here's to looking out for Beyond the Sideline.

I think the tournament group that everyone thinks so poorly of would welcome random occurrences in games. Many times these guys are more knowledgeable about football philosophy. They do use exploits however many seem to know and point out how Madden is flawed and why stuff like that shouldn't happen or be allowed. I'm sure many would jump for joy as more SIM elements are put in. I think SIM vs tourney is a bogus argument.

# 158 Skyboxer @ 05/15/15 03:28 AM
Don't they have "tourney" guys working with them??
Where the results of that as far as going more sim?

Haven't seen much yet.
All I've seen is things like "We don't like penalties as they aren't fun"..
arent fun to who? They are part of the game..

Then there's the "Why doesn't the AI act realistically in these occurances??" EA answer: "Just take control and do yourself"

What I'm saying is in the end it all falls on EA and they IMO are simply catering to highest buying population....Not Tourney or Sim but the casuals...

I have to disagree. I don't think the competitive gaming community would react well to any game mechanic which could affect their ability to win a tournament which competitors had zero control over. The competitive gaming community typically wants a 100% skill based game, not one where the game can potentially decide who wins solely based on essentially a dice roll without any user influence over the result. Imagine if in Call Of Duty, for example, if guns randomly jammed in online play without any warning. This would be incredibly frustrating to a lot of people.l, regardless whether guns jamming is a realistic addition.

Personally I'd welcome random events like bad snaps. I don't anticipate ever getting them in Madden, at least as random events, on account of the e-sports scene, however. I honestly don't anticipate any new mechanics in Madden which rely solely on dice rolls. That's not how the game has been built to this point. If we ever get something like bad snaps, it'll be on account of a new game mechanic specific to triggering shotgun snaps, not solely a ratings check and a dice roll.
