That's what happens when the majority of customers are kids and casuals. They don't care about stats and game improvements they just want to play as fast as possible and get to the next game.
Took the words right out of my mouth. Its all about Myplayer, crew mode, my park, etc.
(Quote by DA-MAN) - I never thought I'd see the day that 2 EA sports games Fifa and Madden have better halftime shows than nba 2k.
DA-MAN hit it on the nose, if someone told me that Madden and Fifa halftime show was better than 2K's I would have thought they were on drugs, but it has become a reality. I know sometimes during development the devs can't get everything in they want, I just hate when stuff gets removed, especially since we are playing NextGen systems now. I loved halftime show presentation breaking down the action and showing player/team stats and highlights, and end of game highlights. Also in between quarters highlights needs to return, it made the game feel like you were watching a live game. I know a lot of focus now goes to my player, my park and stuff like that that people ask for in improvements, but as a guy who has been purchasing and playing 2Ksports since NBA2K2, I don't want to see the presentation diminish, I want to see it grow. I'm still happy and excited to play NBAK215 when it comes out, just sad about that certain presentation aspect.
seriously? :/
can't this be a simple implementation that goes maybe like this:
the dribbling hand decides the side. if i dribble with the players left hand and push the button for PnR, I get the screen left, right hand dribble = right side screen.
it this neat little piece of code isn't "next gen" I don't know what is ;P , well maybe on PS5 LOL

Have you read any of Czars posts? Simplest stuff = hardest to code....

I'm not a kid or a casual and I didn't watch the halftime show that much...it was boring. I checked my stats in the menu periodically throughout the game.
To each their own, I think plenty of non "casual" people skipped the halftime show more often than not.

Except there are a bunch of times in the nba where the screen comes opposite the ball hand and the ball handler can choose to accept it or play off of it. Dwyane Wade does this a lot. Or, the Spurs do a lot of switch PnR where the screener will come up on one side and switch at the last second. Or, side pick and rolls where the ball handler is dribbling with the left hand and wants to attack with his right (strong hand) to the middle of the floor.
Really, if they are doing any "simple" PnR programming it should be just that picks are designed to get the ball handler to the middle. That's the simplest way to do it.

me, too. it just wasn't enough information in the halftime show. i always went to stats menu and compared the teams: REB;TO;FG%,FGA etc.
Yeah it has nothing to do with being a casual or not.
But that's how it is in gaming... All the little cut scenes, pre game shows, half time shows are mostly skipped by the gamer. And I can understand it.
The Shaq and Earnie thing they have this year, in my opinion it makes the game look even better to the consumer but in the end it's something he'll end up skipping a lot.

Why have pre game with Shaq and ernie, player intros, replays, cutscenes in myplayer, national anthems and even championship celebrations but no halftime show?
Wouldn't the same consumer skip those things as well?

I understand it's disappointing for some people, but let's focus on all the positives
Wait. You haven't even SEEN the halftime show, and already you've decided where it ranks? Some of these comments are amazing. How old are you if I may ask?
That wasn't the half-time show shown in the livestream? I remember reading LD2K justifying for why things are a bit scaled back in that area in this thread as well.

Sorry folks, but it's been said for a while that the VAST majority of users skip most of the presentation elements even in 2k games. It's not just about being casual. It's about wanting to get back to your game as quickly as possible. It's about seeing it more than enough and it's now gotten repetitive.
So, why would they put thousands of hours on a shortened dev cycle to put the TNT guys on the LOADING phase (which you can't skip until a certain point) only to have to refresh a halftime show that a HUGE amount of the users skip? Hell, as much as I love the presentation, I skip the **** too after a few weeks.
People keep ignoring the fact that the cycle is limited, yet a TON of new things have been added to the game. Still waiting to hear about this new feature...

Nah. Looked like the full show to me. General stats, some pictures of the best performers, and wiped back over to gameplay, all within the span of about 15 seconds or less. The 2K team were talking over it, so I'm not sure if Damon Bruce is commentating that part or not.

I just went back and looked. You might be right. It was so bare, I thought they skipped it. My apologies.
