NBA Live 15 News Post

EA Sports has just released their NBA Live 15 improved visuals trailer. They have also released the NBA Live 15 features list.

Let us know what you think!

Lights, Camera, Action
We’re doubling down on visuals with an all-new scanning and lightning technique for the most photo-realistic player models in franchise history. Add into the mix player specific body types and contextual emotional responses and you will truly feel like you’re in the action.

Real-Time Physics in the Paint
Feel the impact of real-time physics on every drive, post move and collision in the most trafficked area on the court. 100+ new animations make it possible for something unpredictable and amazing to happen on every play. Scoring has been amped up with 3x the variety of dunks, layups and signature shots as you impose your will on your opponent with physicality you can feel.

Ultra-Responsive Controls
Passing, shooting and dribbling will feel snappier the moment you pick up the sticks. Freestyle Passing takes your assist game to the next level with no looks, behind the backs, and more. An all-new shot feedback system teaches you how to successfully get buckets, measuring three key factors in real-time to determine shot quality. Enhancements to bounceTek allow you to make cuts and change momentum on a dime, giving you the ability to create space and pull off devastating skilled dribble moves on the run.

Smarter AI & Transition Game
New AI logic drives all 10 players to move with intent and purpose while displaying greater off-ball awareness, adjusting as every play develops. Add in a smooth transition game as well as real-world offensive sets and defensive schemes and you’ve got 48 minutes and 94 feet of end-to-end, dynamic gameplay.

Defense Is Fun
New defensive systems make it easier to contain your man by using just the left stick. Contextual physicality, bumps and jostles, in addition to a new shot blocking system, delivers simplicity in controls helping you make that big defensive stop when your team needs it most.

They showed Kevin Love, sort of.

For some reason the body types remind me of live 08 or 09. I really enjoyed watching this 25+ times lol. The skintones are a bit off to me. Also its seems when you turn the speed down to .25 on youtube, you can really see where this game graphically shines. Also noticed the hand went through the shorts at .40secs though

I love how the graphics improved, certainly a huge jump from last year. Some of the jerseys still look off, but the shoes and accessories are sick! I loved some of the animations especially the Lillard cross but I need to see more.

Finally, Live truly deserves to be part of the discussion now. If they push their game to the limit (revamping franchise and career modes), it will be a tough decision for consumers year to year.

I'm surprised some are still not satisfied, but this game finally deserves to be given a real chance. That's what the demo is for and if you have EA Access, even better.

I'm probably going to have my franchise on 2k because it's more deep, but I'm still probably going to buy Live and play with it a little bit, that's for sure.

They've made a lot of progress. We'll have to see how the game feels but it's definitely not visually jarring like last year. If it's fun I'll probably play both games this year.

They are VERY influential in their followers buying decisions . you don't have to heed their words but there are thousands that listen to them. Live is fighting a uphill battle against 2k , nba players and the media.

maybe you are right in that aspect(stiffness etc, and his overall player model) but, how he put his lead arm out, that was really realistic. Blake always does that to gather for his dunks. Blakes dunk, Wiggins dunk, and Liliards dunk where he turns sideways all looked like 'perfect' signature dunks.

2K may have the advantages on the animations detail, but we're not even talking about that right now, we're talking visuals, and this game looks way superior in their art direction. Now when game play comes out, we'll compare. But to say this is an 8 or 7, compared to what Live had last year, sounds like straight hating. We've all seen the arena screen shots, so far the game play package looks VERY GOOD
We still pending the game play package until we know a lot more. One trailer doesn't makeup for 10 years of being behind

I didn't really notice until I watched a few times but you can tell that they're using the same EA tech that allows muscles to flex and change. You can tell at the end when Lillard is hyped after the dunk and the brief look at Noah.

I gave the graphics 8/10, not hating. 10/10 is a perfect score, this isn't perfect. There are still odditities here and there like the jerseys and shorts. I'm not biased either, because I believe this is the best and most realistic looking basketball game today. You're right, it does look good, just not perfect, which is just my personal opinion.

Nice!

Question: why are guys acting like there's a "side" to take? I watched this trailer 3 or 4 times with that giddy excited feeling I remember having when picking up 2K10 and Live 10, knowing this may be another one of those blissful years for hoops gamers. It seems so crazy to me, the whole notion of picking one, if both are good. Right? We're hoops fans first, I'd buy an awesome Live 15 if 2K was the developer, and vice versa for EA/Live.

One thing I always loved in prior Lives was their attention to detail with accessories and kicks, and it appears they're still at it. Now just need to see some Broadcast Cam gameplay look like this, and I'm in!

im not sure if you meant that these Live 15 graphics are superior to Lives graphics last year or 2ks. but if you meant the latter.. i have to rebut.

this game looks "superior in its art direction" , as in better than 2k graphics wise? i disagree. look at the still shots above on this page(or maybe the last page) , look at Steph Curry's freeze framed pic - his arms - that's some last gen looking stuff. Noah's cartoon arms and face are some last gen looking stuff. 2k has no last gen/cartoon looking stuff.. Not even their own bad player models will make you think youre in a last gen time warp. Mess up my immersion in the game.

That was a very cool trailer imo. People complaining about showing too many dunks or that this looks like a ps3/360 game.....

I've been playing my 360 for 6-7 years and have yet to see a sports game look that good on it.

It's essentially a sizzle/teaser trailer and no one really cares to see a coach holding a clipboard or guys dribbling the ball off their feet and out of bounds or point guards holding their hand up to initiate a play. It's a small 50 second snippet to try and excite customers and most people get excited over things like..DUNKS.

It's good to see something from EA regarding B-Ball to be excited about for once. They did great with some of those face scans.. Outside of Live 10 - Gameplay and animations has been this series main issues imo though. Looks like animations may still be an issue imo but it looks to be somewhat improved. Can't judge gameplay yet...Wish them success this time around.

i dont know if i like the animation style they're going for. everybody except for Lillard looks like a very good looking cartoon. i dont think i'll be glancing at the screen thinking its real basketball. all in all, im excited about what EA has done visually tho cuz its definitely head and shoulders above 14.

oh and the jerseys suck. the collars are wide as hell lol. and just look at the pic of the back of lebron's jersey............

Way Superior? I would have to disagree. I just watched the Raw File trailers for both games. Live 15 looks a lot better than 14 and I think some people are just super excited at the graphical jump. These graphics and the scanning tech should of been in Live 14. IMO, the players are a bit too muscular in Live. Both look good though. Different art styles. But 2k15 still looks better overall to me. If you prefer Live's art style that's fine, but "Way Superior" is a stretch. lol

Aside from giving the competition hell with some much needed motivation...meh.....this trailer is being graded on a curve.

Kudos to EA for putting out something (finally!)

You can really tell they have put in work through this dev cycle. Can't wait to see more!

I must say, no basketball game ever came closer to recreating shoes so good!
