Dbs read run better than the lineman and lbs that are trained to do so, this is a big issue. They react to the run instantaneously.

Hey I know we have a ways to go but I do honestly feel that way.
Some will never feel that way and I get it.. and they are entitled to feel that way also.

The game is still playing great for me, but I'm going to start exploring Sliders a little now. Something that's a little displeasing, although minor in the grand scheme of things is the lack of apperance options for my created coach.

If the game is going to display my coach a lot on the sidelines, It would be nice to be able to edit a little more in depth. It's basically been the same for over a decade now. Three body types, three sets of clothes, 6 faces, and two skin tones.. pretty disappointing.

Luckily the game plays great and the graphics are nice. I can get over it.

Yeah wish they would have also put in the game face. Either way I'd love more options and they need to get the headset on created coaches.

They could hit up some techniques from PS3/360 TW games too. Those games had great features for creating players.

I respect your opinion as a fellow OS vet. I was just messing with you, sorry if I came off like I was being a jerk.

I've given this game plenty of props, it's giving me a nice football fix(even though it's still early), but some of the issues I just can't ignore at this stage in Madden's life cycle. I know they've got an uphill battle, but some stuff just comes off as lazy/poor/amateurish design choices.

With that said I will reserve my true judgement of this game until it is a complete product(all patching completed).

I respect that and I knew where you were coming from

I look at it different that if it was the same guys this whole time then WTF..
It hasn't been and thankfully we seem to have a group that cares about football and not gimmicks that try and hide the crap in the game..
I'll leave it at that.
Every FB game I've played has had some issues (Money plays, suspect AI etc..) and I feel as a whole this game has been the most enjoyable so far.

Not giving them a pass on any issues and I will certainly be here to post displeasure if things don't continue to improve OR if they start to regress back into Madden ball over football.

I don't think the CPU properly uses player progression/game prep. After one season, Eli Manning is a free agent at 69 overall after the Giants cut him. Carson Palmer regressed to a 73, then a 67 overall, and is the third string QB on the Patriots. There are plenty of these situations.

I haven't tried 32 team control, nor auto-pilot.

one thing I hated years ago in madden was the A.I. for keeping backs in to pick up the blitz. The last few years has been much improved in that area. But im noticing in M15 a little regression. its no where near as bad as years past but I hope the devs keep an eye on this.
The back should hang out with the QB looking for an unblocked blitz or a defender who breaks free, then he should spring into action. Im seeing him leave the pocket and run off in some cases looking for someone to block, sometimes running up to the line engaging in double teams while the original blocker is holding his own. and my favorite, running to find a second level defender who hasn't even charged the pocket

Its nowhere near as bad as years past but please keep it in mind has you continue to program blocking A.I. (lead blocking A.I. on runs as well)

I guess my early impressions of the game weren't exactly fair. I played 2 games against the CPU, then another 10 online in head to head quickplay. That's a pretty easy way to make the game not fun at all.

I've been playing offline the last couple nights exclusively and I do have to say this game plays great. The few good games I had online that I enjoyed, that's offline against the CPU every game for me. The game has issues, but to be short and sweet, I like the game. I'm getting realistic stats and realistic looking gameplay. Nothing gamebreaking is happening and I am being wowed at times. There isn't much I could as for from the gameplay. I haven't jumped into Connected Careers yet, but right now staying offline, I am having a blast.

I hope the remainer of tuners and patches only focus to smooth out animations, fix bugs, and enhance whats already in the game. can live with the flaws because im enjoying the overall game so much. they scare me when they go in screwing around too much with the game once its playing well.

Straight bonkers, lol. I've had two really nice games since the tuner though. I hope the game continues on this path. 16 could really be something special if they continue with this kind of momentum.

You mean the APF game from 2007? The one that they put little effort in, and never made a sequel? Ya, I agree that for the first time I might prefer Madden 2015 on a new gen console more then that 2007 game on box 360. Congrats to EA, you did it!

Best NFL football game of the year award (for next gen consoles!)

That little effort and still has more on field elements than every football game made after it, lol.

The more I play this game the more I like it. It's not all doom and gloom as I originally thought. And I'm not sure if this is a coincidence, but I think the ai kept running the ball when it saw that I was struggling to stop it.

I figured it was about time to post my impressions as I've spent a good deal of time with the game. This is a fun Madden for me. It's a solid foundation for future iterations in the series, but there's a lot of work which needs to be done.

THE GOOD:

-The running game is by far the best it has been in the series. I believe human control could be tightened up. But the aspect I like about the running system is how small the running lanes and windows are to run through. This mimics the real NFL as space in between the tackles and outside of it is at a premium on the ground. Nothing like getting into space with a player and being able to utilize your special moves or setup a blocker to take out a tackler to free you some open space.

-war in the trenches is pretty good this year. Lineman are a lot better than they used to be on both sides of the ball and you have to pay attention to ratings when building a front four and o-line.

-Franchise mode is fun and innovative this year with the XP and Game Prep system. It's fun developing a player and how you want to develop him. You can stack bonuses to gain more XP points. It's got some great elements.

THE BAD:

ROBO CPU QB's - This is a difficult Fix. Shooting inaccuracy in NBA 2K is a dice roll. User shoots and there are a multitude of results which can transpire as far as teh ball hitting the rim and either going in or not going in. You can capture let's say a hundred different animations of the ball interatcing with the rim and there you go. Football is very different as incompletions are so varied. Incompletions aren't just the result of the ball bouncing off a receiver's hands as there are overthrows and undertrhows, etc. So what I propose is to revamp the CPU AI system and make it more ratings based. It's not right now. As QB's of all skill levels are far too accurate. I'd argue Peyton Manning would in practice hit the WR in between his numbers every time with no one rushing at him, this is how Madden portrays him. But everyone remembers Peyton in the Super Bowl under duress.

So my answer is simple tie QB accuracy ratings across all depth levels to a dice roll system. Capture underthrow and overthrow animations, etc and then tie them to this system. Add in contextual processing which takes into account pocket pressure and where the QB is in relation to his target and let's truly fix this problem.

My big issue with Madden is football is a game of so many variables in terms of physics and what not. Sometimes you need a simple gameplay system to account for this. Simple rules of code which can make organic gameplay happen. Because that way you can also have realistic penalities and what not. You need to work off this solid foundation and make madden simpler. Right now it is too complex and a perfect example is when you have to lower the Intentional grounding slider to lower sacks. Maybe you can rationalize a reason why this seems logical but it's not. We shouldn't have to try out complex theories of how sliders interact with the gameplay. Things should be simple and solutions should be even simpler.

The only thing missing from the chess match is the ability to exploit a size mismatch with a jump ball. I would like to double team certain defensive linemen, but slide protection is working quite well.
