NHL 15 News Post

It’s official: EASHL, GM Connected, OTP, and Live the Life will not be in NHL 15.

The modes which will be in the game, will include play now, Be A Pro, Be a GM, Online Vs, Hockey Ultimate Team, and NHL Moments Live. The plan, as of right now, is to deliver Online Team Play via a patch after launch.

We sat down with Producer Sean Ramjagsingh to discuss why those modes were not included and to talk about the modes which are in the game. The discussion also turns to how to the team deals with community reactions and plans for the future of the franchise, which admittedly are quite exciting. See for yourself after the jump!

Yet, EA Canada made it all work with FIFA 14.

Although it's disappointing that some modes have been left out I am willing to still get the game and take a wait and see approach.

NHL series games NEVER go on sale until the new one comes out

The FIFA team is also much larger than the NHL, team.

I'm bummed the options aren't in the game, but I'd rather they get things right than a rushed, buggy version.

If gameplay and AI is improved, and with all of the extra power, the little things really enhance the game, I can forgive the missing extention functions (personally, I buy NHL games for the NHL game and use things like EASHL/OTP as a secondary attraction). It's if the gameplay is basically a port of last-gen gameplay with a slightly better gift wrapping that I'll be upset.

NHL 14 has been under $40 for months and under $30 since the end of June.

For that to happen, it would take a major drop off in sales.....the problem with that is if the drop off is so severe that they are forced to drastically lower the price, they may be hesitant to continue the series the following year.

I re-bought it brand new digital off of xbox live for $30 back in March after I sold my copy to Best Buy when my girl got her new phone. After I rage quit and tossed the disc out of my system one night during club.

I'm sure EA has a big emphasis on delivering a quality online experience at launch. They received a lot of bad press when the latest Sim City was a disaster. I don't blame them for playing it conservative on game mode and cutting their biggest bandwidth hog (EASHL). Here's to hoping for a smooth 1v1 experience at launch!

From the interview it sounds like there's a lot more challenges delivering a 6v6 compared to 1v1 online. I think it's disappointing but logical that 6v6 ended up being the wall that had to be cut.

NHL 15 will be less than 40 black friday, it has always been in one of those black friday deal things. It was 15 I think on PSN in December as well. If you're really unsure, just wait til Holiday sales, get it as a present. Doesn't cost you anything and if it's terrible, hello gamestop.

I love all the guys here who are nearly jumping with joy that modes that are clearly popular are being cut. Nice community.

I'm guessing they are going to take a big hit in sales based on the fact they are missing most of the modes that many tend to play. I just can't see anyone justifying a $60 purchase for an incomplete game. Sales are going to take a hit no doubt!!!

If EA doesn't offer a lower price then they will chase away potential sales. The longer they wait, the less likely someone is going to buy further down the line. At that point, most will wait until NHL 16.

I'm so glad I've got GameFly

I think you guys are overestimating how many people play only EASHL and wont buy any version of this game. For those guys that do play only that I can see a good number of them (myself included) that purchase this game for last gen.

I can see sales being about the same as they have in the past, only problem is the community will be spread throughout four consoles so no matter what console you pick the online play will take a hit.

I know so many will hate me for saying this, but I'm happy these other modes aren't in the game.
For once, they worked primarily on gameplay and not a bunch of silly online modes.

This actually makes me want NHL15 more now.

What the **** is "silly" about an online league mode like GMC?
