And this is where EA needs to ignore them. They've gone that route and it has not worked and the game is still working its way out of hell. They try to gain casuals and turn off core gamers and they will not win because they'll alienate the very people who WOULD be there for the long haul. The casual guy is not going to be there for the long haul. There will be plenty of items in the game for the casual person but they need to make sure they don't succumb to a voice that is not going to be around after one month. They've done that too much and even the diehards start looking elsewhere after about two months. So they've done enough babying and it hasn't worked out great.

Boo.... The pass was thrown RIGHT TO THE DEFENDER, and the same stone hands animation that has been in this game for a while, prevented it from being an interception.
Hopefully because it's not awful.

And we really need ball juggle animations.

I liked the candor of the guy in the middle regarding what got done this year and what remains to be done, and I really liked the clarity of the guy on the right's answers to specific questions about defense.

I also liked that they went right for specific legacy/problem plays and coverages; rather than hiding from questions about whether or not coverages that should stop a given concept actually do, they sought those scenarios out and let the game speak for itself. That was a stand-up move, so I respect the dev team for that.

Locomotion still looks terrible in many instances, but the player models looked decent, at least to me.

After seeing this, I'm excited to learn/see more.

One thing's for sure...that's easily the most detailed, "smartest" presentation I've ever seen come out of EA. Well done guys.

NBA 2K14 on old gen started out the same way. Very realistic. Then the complaints came rolling in and they patched it to make it more casual.

Can't they just make a casual setting for those that complain it's too hard? Or would nobody embrace that?

Even make the "normal" setting casual and just give us a "sim" or "hardcore" setting where it's realistic.

With what Rex said toward the end, and throughout, about people pretty much raising their football IQ to get better at Madden makes me believe we don't have to worry about those complaints changing the game in the future. They know it will really hard for some.

Color me impressed....So many things I liked, but a few quick things that stood out was the defensive ability to guard the sticks...The ease of applying defenders coverage position of inside, or outside, etc. And then the delay on offense between calling audibles....

JUst so much more - really probably the most positive, informative live streams I've every witnessed.

I agree. The guy on the right seemed particularly sharp.

Rex for president!

Was hoping to hear some more on special teams (can you block kicks, punts, etc) are there bad snaps and stuff. Snaps on field goals are crucial to the success of a kick. I would love to see ratings make an impact in how well you can put the ball down. It happens a lot! Those ratings could dip in bad weather or field conditions as well.

Game graphically looks really nice. Really want to see a night game.

A nice detail are the ads and other items that pop up on the stadium jumbotrons and video ribbons. Very nice!

I'm convinced the football knowledge is there, having watched that. Now it's just a matter of getting all of that knowledge into the game - and it seems like they're definitely making progress there with this year's game.

It does back up the statement that EA is committed to making this a sim game.

I have to say that I am impressed with Rex and this game. I have not bought this game the last 2 years after playing the demo's due to a few factors. For a short cycle it seems like they added a ****load of stuff. The zone D looked a 1000x improved especially seeing that they said this was on pro difficulty. I love all the new defensive counters and this will now become a chess match as it should be. I absolutely love steering and break blocks. It seems like we will finally have more control. 1 thing I wished they played and showed was curl and out routes vs man coverage.

After 2 years off this game will feel like a brand new game to me it seems and I like the direction they are going! Can't wait to finally get my NFL fix again! Go HAWKS!

Player movement is definitely improving. I saw 2 & 3 man tackles finally.

No they didn't, but they said they would be doing more blogs/streams so hopefully they see the positive feedback from this and do a CFM one.
